We have to appreciate the effort of these two making content for us 😁. Love you guys tho. Korang jangan lupa untuk like video dan tekan subscribe okay ! Terima kasih Logesh dan Rachel
I want Logesh to review American fast food in Malaysian tastebud perspective. I've always been curious about .in n out. Five guy. Taco Bell. And. mc Donald's. Find a winner based on what you think Malaysian would like.
Banana Leaf is a Singaporean company. Available almost everywhere in the world. Good presentation always, but not exactly tasty by Malaysian standards. Killiney is also Singaporean and available everywhere in Malaysia. Good tasting place!
Even in Malaysia we rate our own nasi lemak. Till today we can't decide. I think it depends on individual taste bud kot? Jap lari topic sikit. You two look soo cute in matching baju 😊 Love looooove your channel guys. Keep them coming 😊
wow so much effort for doing this..money,sweats and more.. thanks kumar family.,we ve really appriciated it..much love from🇲🇾🙏❤️..btw i like rachel judgement, very genuine👍relatable..gudluck guys🌹
Even though I am Malaysian, I am team Rachel with the sambal thing. I also prefer my sambal to be set aside from the rice than on top of it. Because I feel that the nasi will get too oily from the sambal and I don't like the oiliness feeling when I eat them. However, I am on team logesh when it comes to ikan bilis! Ikan bilis for life. In my case, I will fry extra ikan bilis at home when I tapau nasi lemak 😂
Nasi lemak with sambal ikan bilis (no bilis goreng) is traditional Perak style. You can find here anywhere in Perak nasi lemak with sambal ikan bilis. But nowadays people start using Selongor style, by add in a little amount of bilis goreng. If you go to Melaka, you gonna surprise, there is sayur kangkung tumis in nasi lemak.
If police officers and donuts are a thing in the US, then ambulance drivers and nasi lemak should be a thing in Malaysia! I'm saying this as a future ambulance driver and a nasi lemak eater... 😋
Are you sure? But for me, not at all... the most sedap sambal nasi lemak is make by my sis in law. But for sambal sotong aka squid sambal, the winner is always my mom.. but for nasi lemak's sambal.. MY SISTER IN LAW the 🏆
Nasi lemak yang sedap bila sambal nya sedap . Nasi lemak kat malaysia selalunya simple jer. Nasi lemak+ telur mata / telur rebus + timun, ikan bilis. Kalau ikan bilis, digoreng dan rangup memang sedap. Cuma nowadays dah ada macam macam sambal untuk nasi lemak. Sambal kerang, sambal udang, sambal sotong dll. Tapi mungkin mencari nasi lemak yang sedap kat malaysia agak mudah. Even makcik jual tepi jalan ada yang murah2 tu pun dah cukup sedap. Kat tempat kumaar family punya nasi lemak nampak sedap tapi mungkin rasa nasi lemak keseluruhan tu tak sampai .
Thank you for the effort in reviewing all the nasi lemak in your area. Much appreciated. Personally I prefer the basic nasi lemak ie coconut rice (no clumping), cleaned anchovies, hard boiled eggs, cucumbers and saucy sambal on the side.
Great, thorough and fair review!! Love both of your matching outfits!!! Definitely would love to see more of these type videos! Maybe review Nasi Goreng in Bay Area!!
Hmm this is going to be awesome, since I live in the Bay Area. I’ll get a perspective on which one I should hit up. I’ve had meh nasi lamak, so this is going to be nice to see. I’m surprised you did all that in 5hrs, you must’ve had a good chance with traffic.
Greeting from Auckland New Zealand. Thank you Kumaar family for showing where to get Nasi lemak when I make a trip to visit my sister who lives in Hayward and my niece in San Jose in the near future. I am from Subang Jaya Malaysia and have been living in NZ for almost 35 years as have watch your earlier video as usual with question are you moving back to Malaysia again. I am so impressed with your lovely wife Rachael for her spoken Malay and her adability to all our Malaysian foods.I saw your father ginger tea and will try to make some to try and also have learnt the right way to blend ingredients not mixing the shallots and chilles together but we will blend all in one well if I do come over to visit my sister n hope v can pay u a visit too and your 2 lovely boys. God Bless your family.
I've been to America but I've never had nasi lemak in America. I hope I could try them out when I'm back in America. I've always wondered how Thai food became popular in America? God willing, I hope your videos will help more Americans be more aware of Malaysian food and I hope they'll become as popular as Thai food.
I think it's the pad thai that make the Thai food popular over in America. I think I only find one Malaysia restaurant in Boston ( 13 yrs ago) but Thai restaurant is everywhere..
Genghix next was by far the best nasi lemak I've had so far in the bay area. I've tried all their chicken versions (curry, rendang and fried chicken). The rendang was hmm just ok for me, not authentic enough. But, you should try it with their fried turmeric chicken next time and it might just add a few more points to the rating. Their roti canai is also the best I've had in the bay area for me. Minus points for me is that the chicken is not bone-in :)
The price 1 nasi lemak overseas is equivalent to 8 or more nasi lemak back home. That's the price that we overseas Malaysians will have to pay to get a taste of home and when we think of home......
sorry.. if u dnt me asking.. what is the average working class meal would be in US? if nasi lemak & other msian food is more expensive, is it because if the imported ingredients? thanks..
I really like the presentation of genghix nasi lemak. It looks so malaysian. The sambal looks good too. Nampak pekat tak cair. Layang2 nampak sedap tapi sambal nampak cair.
Omg you’re in heaven you’ll are so lucky to have Malaysian foods where you live but for me in Austin nothing Malaysia foods have to make it ourselves.Enjoy it
Great content bro , I love nasi lemak especially with crispy fried chicken. All the elements needs to be there tho. I was hungry when I watched your vid so I went out for a nasi lemak hunt too. ahahah keep up the great work
What I have noticed over the years is , at most home lah, many people make their nasi lemak in the rice cooker from A-Z. Than they will selalu kacau kacau dengan senduk the nasi until pecah. But if you first let it cook in a normal pot, than transfer it into a steamer with banana leaf or foil ,the nasi lemak not only won't " pecah pecah" but it also won't be so lumpy. Just the way old people used to do it.
Jujur sye ckp .sye Suka tgok Kumar berambut pendek mcm sbelum2 ni...nmpk lbih hnsem,KEMAs n fresh...bila rmbut pnjg mcm ni nmpk spt budak nakal yg kaki merayau....🤭😋.... Ni Komen mmbina ok agr kumaar ttap maintain hnsem n KEMAs...love kumaar family...rindu zaden n kyren....😭❤️

my 10/10 rating nasi lemak nasi lemak kukus version , a little saltier than average (mostly from pandan) sweet sambal sotong with a sprinkle of petai - make sure the petai is odourless ayam goreng berempah fried anchovies and peanuts 2:1 ratio frizzled sunny side up egg a spoonfull of kerak ayam ( the left over spices from the fried chicken) 2 slices of cucumber
The best nasi lemak is with fried 🥜, 🥒, hard boil 🥚, anchovies and a very good sambal. Buy from our road side aunties . Nasi lemak bungkus. Not with chicken or beef.
Try having the nasi lemak plain before mixing it with sambal, to taste the richness of the rice. More onions, garlic and ginger in the rice will tip the rice to a certain flavour. Used to have nasi lemak with cloves and cinnamon sticks (and star anise too, I think) in the rice at my school's dining hall many years back, really interesting taste. Too bad I couldn't find that kind being sold at any gerai/restaurant anywhere since.
Prefer nasi lemak with - boiled egg, it's a must! and eat with sambal muack! (fried egg is devilish) - golden anchovies (something like ikan bilis tawau, crunchy, best smell and taste after fried, and even best combo with Pan mee) - peanuts require! - sambal 30% salty, 20% sweet and 50% spicy! - slices of cucumber Optional chicken - i prefer eat with ayam masak merah instead of fried/goreng
Tried Satayman, tbh, I won't give above 5.0. But from your reviews... I would like to try GhenghixNext and Killiney. Had Layang2 and BananaLeaf before... they're ok. Thx for the reviews.
Hi Kumaar, have you ever thought about the idea of making your own home made nasi lemak video and have it review by the famous Uncle Roger....delicious 😋😋🤤
U two look like a chef 😂❤️ so cute tho. For my definition of nasi lemak is I really like the one that has crispy fried anchovies, peanuts sambal wajib pedas and nasi pun wajib rasa coconut 🤤 bcs I've eaten a few nasi lemak tepi jalan and ada yg nasi dia guna nasi biasa jeee 😅😅 but grateful for what we eat alhamdulillah Sambal pedas + ikan bilis garing + kacang + nasi lemak yg rasa lemak santan = nasi lemak five star 😂😋❤️
Driving so far away and spend so much on Vlog, but yet u guys almost give away all your RU-vid income to the neediest. Have to salute u Kumar & Rachel! Just wonder, what did u do with the left over of 9 packs of American size nasi lemak? All got your saliva already.🤣🤣🤣
My perfect 10 rating scale Nasi Lemak... Nasi lemak cook with pure santan Prefer sunny side fried eggs than boiled Anchovies but hates 🥜 2 pieces small fried fish Cucumbers Fried chicken wings Sambal tumis ikan bilis petai
i had a good dose of it tonight; had to drive to mydin to get the santan coz one in the freezer gone bad. just plain old nasi lemak with pangkor bilis, ikan masin, telor rebus, timun and yesterday's sambal. Bay area nasi lemak look like MAS inflight meal hahaha. Tak best !
USD 15 = RM 63.3 (in today's exchange rate) on average for nasi lemak is normal so don't freak out, according to her while the best nasi lemak ever that I'd eaten in my life only cost rm 6.
hello there kumaar family,,,,i watched a number of your food videos and i noticed that the malaysian food you either shown, reviewed or ate are generally malay & indian food....where's the malaysian chinese food? except maybe one time i think i saw one of yr videos of you ordering char kway tieu(which BTW was malay sytled) i guessed there are no malaysian chinese food" in america and malaysia....that's pretty odd cos i thought i have eaten curry mee, wanton mee, kampar mee, lobak guo, penang char kway tieu, prawn mee, pan mee, yu char kway, BKT( Bak Kut Teh & U R originally from klang bro) and many many others... i am trying hard to convince myself if thats probably the reason why i have not subscribed to your channel....eventhough i enjoy/enjoyed watching your videos.....cheerios
Nasi lemak is life in Malaysia.. but out of the basic (the ones you can find at the roadside - some include quarter hard-boiled egg 😒), different states present it differently.. especially the vege, plus, you can have fried egg too, as part of side dish add-on..😅 Good taste of going far to find 9 destinations.. next video, maybe you could rate the other dishes available from these same 9 locations - since they're Malaysian-Singaporean dishes.
the rating not really fair. comparing rendang vs curry in term of taste. and diff side dish will affect the price. ie rendang takes lotsa herbs & time to make, thus more expensive. but i really enjoy the vid. thank you for the effort! 🤗
