I tried out a chronomancer in a unit of immortals with gauss blasters. They sat on an objective all battle, hidden from the enemy, and popping out every turn to shoot. The 24" range really helped with that tactic. It's a lot more than just a move up the table faster ability, although I did pair him with a royal warden to let the unit advance, shoot, and move fir a 10+d6 move every turn.
Worth mentioning; Hypermaterial Ablator gives stealth which only gives -1 to hit for ranged attacks, while the Timesplinter Mantle gives -1 to hit to all attacks. So that ability is even better than the enhancement.
The Technomancer is S tier, lots of versatility, great buffs for all the units they can lead, good wargear options, great for several of the enhancements, great for getting thralls into a good unit, efficiently point costed.
Firstly, thank your for all your videos, hope your channel grows as this is good information. I run my technomancer with the "leader crown" whatever that is and have him in the back with my ranged hitters and support (Doomsday stalker, reanimator and deathmarks), not only do they get +1 to hit as they are being lead by a leader but the vehicles really make use of the heal from the technomancer. The 10" move and lone operative means he wont get sniped and can reposition The 20 warriors with my warload and plasmancer and 2 cryptothralls is an unending brick, warlord with res orb and plasmancer with the stealth enhancement. so thats a brick of 24 models with -1 to hit and if you apply damage to the thralls, 4+ FNP. Always res your thralls before warriors. This brick doesn't die
I think your list is bang on! I fully agree. Whats cool about Orikan, is that when he turns super Saiyajin and every hit turns into single Mortal Wounds, they spill onto single wound models nicely and killing way more than 6, for his 6 attacks. So he is good against hordy stuff as well as charakters or light vihicles.
I really need to get as plasmancer, its the only one I dont have aside from Orikan. Probably gonna dish out the funds for the royal court set since I dont own any of those yet and they are some of the last units I need aside from the more expensive models like The silent king. Also I think Orikan will be my next converted character I make. I have most of everything I need for his main body. I may actually still pick up the resin model for the couple assesories that are unique to him such as his weapon and maybe head, although Im sure I would complacent with a current cryptek head as well.
My only change would be adding in vanguard oberon as whilst he isnt a crytek he fuffils the same role of extra character in a unit and does so wonderfully probably slot him in 3rd fights first and 4+fnp for that units characters is strong but he can only join one other characters and fights firts with his movement only makes any real sense with sword and board lychguard so not as flexible as the top 2
If only we could put the Chronomancer with a unit of 3 LHDs. Can you imagine 3 of those with Gauss Destructors popping around a building, firing, then going back behind said building?
10th edition has been a Plasmancer glow up like the end of a movie where the frumpy girl gets a makeover and becomes prom queen. NECRON PUBERTY IS SO AWKWARD
I think placmancer works great with warriors. If it's a meaty 20 blob I will dought that most factions would be able to deal with them because of rp. So you may as well boost their damage (especially Gauss flayer). And if an overlord has a red orb the blob won't ever die.
I also found the healing abilities of the technomancer quite useful! It can also be teamed with Royal Wardens leading warriors which increases use of resurection protocols.
So of my favorite models, thanks for the rundown! Would anyone recommend against Dark Angels what cryptek to use on my Lychguard with an Overlord that has an orb? They often get deep strike then charged at so they don’t often get fired at, least that’s how my last two games have gone with my friend. I’m torn between Orikan w/ warscythe or Technomancer with sword/shield. I often have a reanimator nearby too.
i thought you couldnnt attach a technomancer to a bodyguard unit if you use the canoptek cloak because it gives the technomancer lone operative. and doesnt lone operative say that they cant lead units? or does something let you ignore that rule?
Psychomancer is really bad. Sure you can force a battle shock test on a unit up to 18" away but if that unit is 9" away or less, subtracting 1 from leadership tests makes it easier for the unit to pass the battle shock test. Nightmare Shroud should be renamed to Confidence Booster Shroud.
Personally, I'd run Orikan with a blob of warriors rather than Lychguard. This Not only makes the warriors much more tanky, but also acts as a melee deterrent for them.
1) Techno is S Tier. Cloak is meh, Node is gold. Ablator/Veil on Techo is also solid gold and he is gosu with any unit he can lead. 2) OMG PSYCHOMANCER TEH BESTEST EVAR!!! 3) Plasmancer is A+ Tier. He is beast with Tesla Immortals for horde or great with any gauss unit for hunting tough stuff. 4) Chrono is S Tier. Many Necron units need help getting around and -1 to Hit rules on any and all units.
@Planet40K Okay, cool. I'm hoping the Mephrits still get their armor penetration. I already tend not to take the more powerful AP -1 guns with less rage the necrons have as the tradeoff doesn't seem worth it. If the mephrits still get that -1 AP in half range, it's like having both weapons in 1.
Personal favorite is easily the Plasmancer. Such a beautiful glow-up from 9th edition and hes so much fun to bring with Tesla immortals. Chronomancer and Technomancer are equally fun and i always forget the Psychomancer even exists. Orikan is great and hes such a memey character in his book and i love the little incel, but i refuse to use him and his AWFUL model.
@@Planet40K yes! And all of our other named Finecast models. I keep wanting to play Anrakyr but his arm has broken off at least four times and I'm tired of gluing it back on. And not even from dropping him or anything, getting snagged on other models. And my Imhotekh lost the tip of his staff nearly two years ago.
