My wife has taken her meager necron army out of retirement after 20 years, these videos are extremely helpful in deciding what getting next to make it playable. Thanks!
Lychgard aren’t my fave model, but after running technomancer and overlord with warriors I realized how insane it would be. Chronomancer plus royal warden with warriors was fun too
I've been thinking about Plasmancer and Royal Warden combo with Reaper Warriors for the advance and shoot backed up by Szeras for loads of Ap2 auto wounds
I want the Royal Warden to be good, but the Heavy keyword basically only negates a -1 to hit if we are stationary, and Sudden Storm strat basically gives us his Assault keyword with a re-roll to the advance. So really all we are getting is CP for not using the strat and fall back and shoot.
Anakyr and Plasmancer with Tesla immortals really hooked me up a while back. Just lots of and lots of shots. Turned wounding knights into 5s which was a solid uptick compared to just flat 6s.
@@Planet40K still on the fence actually. I felt like sustained hits 2 was nice on 5s and 6s, the amount of hits was greater than what I started with and still made my opponent roll more than he really wanted to lol. Edit: the assault Tesla was something else that felt nice to have. Advancing with the 5 move got me in spots I thought would have taken forever. The +1 to wound helped in general with any target as well. Sneaky little time arrow too if you want to get wild. Not the most complex combo but something I had a good chuckle with.
The issue I've been having is not being able to find a Necron Lord anywhere. It's either Overlord or bust, even if the Lord would be just as well for my unit at a cheaper point cost.
Sounds lame, but Warden and Plasmancer (with Cryptothralls) in a Warrior blob of twenty Gauss Flayer gunners is pretty effective. If your foe is maneuverable, all the better. Gaining both Heavy and Assault on long range rifles that auto would on a 5+ to hit is monstrous. If the enemy tries to outrange them or run, just advance and spray them down. If they are advancing on you, stand still and spray them down at twelve inches to more than double your murder spree (thanks to Heavy's bonus accuracy and Rapid Fire). Back them up with a Canoptek Reanimator to keep the party going.
I think cryptothralls with lychguard are an auto include now for fight on death with a noble and chronomancer -1 hit, -1wound , 4++ for thralls to soak wound then jusz reanimate them its brutal
My Favorite combo of leaders might be Anrakyr for the +1 to Hit and +1 to wound and a Plasmancer for crits on 5s and up. Plop them into a full Immortal squad for 20 shots hitting on 2s and up and either auto wounding with Gauss or sustained hit 2s with Tesla, wounding T5 - T7 on 3s and up, and T4 and below on 2s. Bonus points for Szeras escorting them for a bonus +1 to AP. Cryptothralls escorting obviously. I don't get the free and possibly double use strategem, nor do I get a resurrection orb, however that plus 1 to wound is delicious.
@@alejandrodelgadillo1896 Crypteks can join a unit already being led by a noble, so the detachment rule gives +1 to hit, Anrakyr gives +1 to wound and the plasmancer gives the crits on 5s
Hey @Planet40k! Thanks for the awesome videos! But i feel like the royal warden is kinda underestimated. giving your warriors an assault keyword to move, advance and shoot is kinda strong in my opinion. they are slower than before and for small points (40 for warden) they get some more good shots and better movement. Also i had a technomancer with my immorals close to my doomstalkers with "sovereign aura" enchancement to boost their hits +1 even with moving and provide a D3 Heal in command phase.
Anrakyr + Plasmancer in 10 Tesla Immortals. 20 shots, hitting on twos with 5+ sustained, then getting a +1 to wound from Anrakyr and either reroll 1s to wound or all wound rolls from the immortals datasheet ability will stack loads of saves onto anything, even things they would normally wound on 6s wont be too bad if the target is on an objective. If you're near Szeras you can even get an AP on that, though in the world of "cover saves for everyone!" that might not be quite as useful
Awesome video man, as somebody that wants to start playing in 10th, i really wanna try lichguard with these combos. Do you think a canoptek army is viable or good right now? I really like their looks and want a lot of scarabs
The first shown combo is also really good when you swap the Overlord for an normal Lord The Lord is cheaper, has also ab RO and can make his unit still use stratagems even when it is battleshocked, which is really nice against units like whirlwind of the Space Marines
I really think the Lychguard + Imotekh is the way to go. The -1 to opponents wound rolls and the 4+ invulnerable save. With Reanimation Protocols even a unit of 5 can add a ton of survivability to Imotekh to get those CPs. Plus if he lives long enough he might be able to to close enough to actually use Lord of the Storm.
These combos are insane… so far in 10th I’ve only lost 2 battles and that was against tyranids for first game where hadn’t learnt the different combos and my second against Knights 😅 Since those holy 💩 we are going to get FAQ so badly soon. Triple Lych with T C’tan and DD Ark is just to much for anyone to handle so far. Not even the Lion.
Like, I know its not a combo but I had to say it. WTF is the Hexmark destroyer's profile? At MINIMUM 12 shots at S6 ap-2. For 70 points? I swear, this has got to be the most overpowered necron unit
Just the Skorpekh Destroyers, its a very nasty unit with lots of synergistic buffs but lacks a way to get a FNP into the unit or a general invulnerable save, therefore making Skorpekhs a bit squishy. Still a great unit though if you use veil, rapid ingress or strategic reserves to get them into the action. You could put them in a Night Scythe but they can't disembark and charge so it's a bit limiting and not really that useful
Personally I am planning on running Imotekh with a Plasmancer, Cryptothralls, and a 10 man unit of Tesla Immortals. As for my reasoning: The Plasmancer has good synergy with Tesla, and both Imotekh and the Plasmancer need to get fairly close for their shooting and abilities. This is likely much more aggressive and risky than most, as lots of enemies will converge on the unit trying to kill it; but that's actually the goal. Vengeful Stars, Overwatch, Living Lightning, and Lord of the Storm, can really put the hurt out over a turn, and then the unit can hopefully kite the enemy along, Advancing to the rear (since Tesla is Assault) and firing at max range, while making it extremely difficult to be charged.
Just played a 1k game and by the end of it I'd destroyed 2 IG sentinels, Russ, artillery, 2 20 man batallions, 1 of kreig and the other of catachans and sniped Creed out of a squad. My only casualties at the end were 5 lychguard and 2 cryptothralls. Orikan on a 20 man warrior blob with Royal Warden leading it, meaning assualt on my reapers and a 4++ invun and 4+++ FNP from the murder buckets. The overlord in with sword and board lychguard, hypermaterial ablator and res orb was incredibly strong. Felt cheesy though, not as much fun for my opponent so I'll change my list before we play again next.
Quick question: Would you also include two croytothralls for your last combo? Would be pretty great with 20 warriors By the way do you prefer 20 warriors or 10 immortals in combination with the plasmancer?
