Ah, Roma Norte in Mexico City, the former home of 20th Century Mexican presidents, the set of the acclaimed film by Alfonso Cuarón, and now the beautiful neighborhood we call home.
Colonia Roma is known as a magnet for artists and creative minds not only for Mexico but for Latin America and now Europe and North America as well.
Because of this, this neighborhood in Mexico City has a notoriety for being, cutting edge, artistic, and just plain cool.
We love Roma because of its vibe, people, architecture, and the life that it offers us. Walking through the tree-lined streets and quaint parks, you have to wonder how this neighborhood isn't all everyone is talking about.
Let us be your travel guide as we show you around our favorite neighborhood in Mexico City, Roma Norte!
Thank you for watching!

Saludos

Thanks for your recommendations, I was born in Mexico City and moved to California when I was a little girl I’ve been back a couple times but never long enough to truly enjoy it and get to truly know it. We will be visiting next week do you have any recommendations as to where to stay? My nephew will be attending UNAM to take Spanish courses

So many wonderful places to visit! I am not as familiar with Roma as La Condesa but I did enjoy it when I went there. Mexico City in such a gem and so unique but these neighborhoods do remind me of Buenos Aires, Lisbon and New York. Some people might not think so but it has an old world style that I love. Great video guy and nice work!

Have you two spent much time in Coyoacán? I was walking around this morning totally in love with how much quieter and slow-paced it is compared to Roma. Also there are churro spots EVERYWHERE down here 😂

It has been so crazy to see La Roma change from when I would go there growing up to now. Hopefully it always maintains it’s authentic Mexico City character. So many firsts there. People who really did so much for the area and Mexico City. People like Gabriela Camara, Monica Patino, Aldo Chaparro, the girls from DNA magazine, Danaé Salazar, Fabiola Zamora, Emanuel Piccault, Zemmoa. A neighborhood truly built by artists and for artists.

Thank you! Your perspective and historical information about the neighborhood was interesting. I think the iron gates, etc. do serve a protective purpose, but they are pretty common throughout Spanish and colonial architecture in the Americas. In many wealthy neighborhoods they may offer only limited protection, if any, and are more of a symbol of wealth and status and, in fact, attract attention. Interesting how the stories evolve. BTW you’ve mentioned Serg’s heritage and that he went to university in MX and is fluent in Spanish, but I haven’t heard anything about Tana.’s Spanish. I noticed when she says Spanish words she pronounces them like an American. So I wonder if she does that because she’s speaking English and to be consistent or weather she has mastered Spanish yet. I’m enjoying your travels and unique perspective on Mexico. Thank you!

Saludos

I would like the Vlley of Mexico as Cuautitlan Izcalli have more Canadian and American style and make it great.. Mexico is big but the next generation of Americans and Canadians are going to be losing as Spain did when the natives take power and the mestizos have to deal with the natives ogocentric minds... the capital is great but it has been suffer from the same ones... need new people more invest.
