Insidious 4 The Red Door!!!! This series is one of my all time favs due to the actors and world building (The Further and it's Demons). So looking forward to this movie! The trailer doesn't give a lot away.

No, that's the thing that comes for your kids when you tell them it's all in their head and you ignore their warnings that there is a monster in their room because you don't want to deal with the reality of what they're saying UNTIL it's too late! This is an old trope used in so many horror movies and it still doesn't get old. Can't wait to see The Boogeyman!

Sad to write this but it's not funny, it tried but failed big time. There is too many "hidden" woke messages behind it to the point you will actually switch off (mindwise). In years to come it may be a cult movie but not for a long long time.

Clock is an interesting take on the pressure to get pregnant and have kids. So many horror films that involve pregnancy/birth itself, but so few that play on the pressures to become pregnant and the lengths we would go to do so.

Regarding the Dracula spinoffs: Renfield looks tedious as when I watch horror I don't want it to be watered down with humour (except for What We Do In The Shadows which mostly worked quite well), so I'll give it a miss. I'd rather see a truly dark movie about Renfield without the clowning. However, The Last Voyage of The Demeter looks promising as it's an original take on an episode from the novel "Dracula" which hasn't received much cinematic attention. As for most of the rest, I've been waiting in vain for a long time for the horror genre to really live up to its name. Come on, guys... why can't you truly terrify us anymore?

Agreed! I have read Bram Stoker's Dracula and it needs more attention. They need a series of movies for both that and Mary Shelley's Frankenstein. Movies that hold dear to the original ambiance of those novels. With the right writers and actors it could be magnificent.

Im pretty sure horror used to not be predictable when we didn’t watch enough of it yet to learn the tropes. It’s all been pretty much the same the whole time. We just learned what to expect as we watched more. That’s why it feels so predictable now compared to when you were younger.

For newer horror movies it’s The Insidious Movies, Terrifier 1&2 for the indie and of course International Horror and originality that’ll grab my attention! Like Skinamarink! Grainy, less effects and the trauma of what the kids went through repeating over & over, plus the abuse pointed out thoroughly each time I watch it new Easter eggs I find! Lynn Shaye is a fantastic actress, Damien Leone is amazing for upcoming director/Special Effects! Renfield was excellent, Scream got tired after part 2 I love the 80s horror as well, Nightbreed, Anything Stephen King, and Asian Horror is very underrated

To be scary for me it has to be jump scary and it must be relatable. One Stephen King short story scared the heck out of me. .... Kids swim out to a floating dock on a lake. One notices a patch of an oil like substance a couple of feet away on the water. One of the kids jumps into the water to swim back to shore for some reason. The slick moves fast and kills the kid, then it gets bigger. Everyone else is stuck on the dock. Me and my family were always swimming out to floating docks on lakes.... it was the 80s, when anything could happen 😂.... lots of unkown pollutants.
