If Hollywood gave me a reason to, they would find me at the cinema several times a week. But they don’t. I miss good movies and getting excited for them. Sad to see how Hollywood died.
its hard too when you have a good lg screen tv and you go to the theatre and the quality of print is not even comparable. i left Horizon for that reason
The best movies these days are remakes... and they're not very good. The best music these days uses the riffs from old Zeppelin or Aerosmith... and it's not very good. The best politicians aren't politicians... and it's not very likely that they'll be allowed to win their elections. We're witnessing either the last few feet in the fall of civilization, or the moment just before it takes its last defiant deep breath that gives it the strength to fight on another 100yrs. A movie about Elon Musk building a Space Ark... not THAT would be a blockbuster today! God Bless.
Hollywood really sucks. You have to go back to the 80s to see a decent movie. The thirties forties 50s and 60s we're pretty awesome as well. Today Hollywood is just as bad as the music industry. All crap.
TV is literally designed to brainwash you into buying stuff that can't sell itself. Like demented presidents and their even more regarded vice presidents. You think hypnosis doesn't work? Lmao. No one could be that gone. They can't even explain why they think Trump is .... literally Hitler. They missed the bit where Putin's regime called Trump Hitler after he blew up there troops on three occasions. TV is good for escaping reality for a few decades. Movies are ok for 2 hours @@DavidBrown-wm1up
Why? Because a handful of very loud whiners (who, of course, write in ALL CAPS, because their biggest fear is being ignored) just can’t resist leaving the same unqualified drivel under every single video. Meanwhile, the majority of us will still watch and enjoy them, simply because we want to. You know, because some of us actually appreciate what the present has to offer. 🤷🏽♂️🙏🏼😎
@@JensGraikowski First of all, have you seen my posts and replies on RU-vid? I am not a moral crusader. Could it be that this was my primal scream of finally getting fed up with such banal entertainment? Certainly, not all, but it seems to be the "norm" today. My flaunting credentials are 75 years, a couple of degrees and 50 years of observing the slide into muck. Am I a religious wing nut? Have you dismissed the plethora of other comments with similar comments? On one count, I have to deal with the fallout from my own generation of accepting jumping into bed every other episode and no consequences. The tragedy and collateral damage is heartbreaking. I am not talking religion. I am a professional counselor and this is insidious and just one example. Is it possible that you are the frog in the kettle that cannot comprehend what is behind this? The few voices that call this out are mocked and dismissed.
I get it, @@tomperkins5657, you've seen a lot in your 75 years, and your experience gives you a certain perspective. But let's be real-every generation has its share of things to gripe about. That "slide into muck" you mention? It's been the chorus of every age, and yet, here we are, still finding our way. Sure, there are plenty of banal shows and movies out there, but that’s the beauty of choice-we’re not chained to them. As for being the "frog in the kettle," maybe I’m just choosing to appreciate the good that’s still out there rather than getting bogged down by the things I don't like. We’ve all got our battles, and if yours is with modern entertainment, more power to you. Just don’t expect everyone to see the world through the same lens. Some of us are just here to enjoy the ride, no matter how messy it gets.

@@JensGraikowski Well thought out. For sure, every generation has its gripes. My father's generation fought the 2nd WW and just came out of the Great Depression. I had multiple discussions with my father's generation on just what that looked like, up close and personal. It seems, and understandable, that every man coming out of that depression swore their own children would not have to experience that. My dad worked fiercely with long hours and little time at home. My generation honored this with in your face rebellion. I include myself. So where in the world am I going with this? In this "rebellion" we tore off the robes of what was considered good morals. Nixon et. al, showed the ugly side of politics. I was stationed at the Pentagon and saw the riots of students and the smoke of tear gas and armed troops. Half of me wanted to take my military vehicle and dump the kids in it and scram. Yeah, that would have been a long sentence. Had orders for Nam. Recinded three weeks from deploying. Saw too many GI's buried with weeping, sometimes wailing, wives, mothers, sisters, girlfriends. I see all this nostalgic bullshit about the sixties. But I digress. Something happened in the sixties and it bled into my generation and then our media who grew up to be newscasters, reporters, editors, writers, and professors. I am NO saint. When I start to judge others I am quickly reminded of all my sh!t. Whoever wrote, "I may be old, but I'm young at heart." was probably a millennial. However, I love this country, its stunning beauty, my wife (most of the time - don't tell her) and especially our grandkids (pictures on demand). But in that same vein it deeply worries me that toys, online games, even "cartoons" seem to have a violence and vengeance theme. Yeah, I'm old, but what is trying to be presented as normal, especially in sexuality is evil. Embellishing? My boss's 14 year old granddaughter, WITHOUT permission, had her breasts removed and tons of hormone blockers by a surgeon! A surgeon! She was a sweet girl who was starting her menstrual process that was very difficult. On the media sites, all her middle school friends cheered her on. She is on suicide watch. "But that's rare!" Really? Want to know some stats? I wrote a master's thesis on medical marijuana. Had an absolutely clean slate. I really wanted to know what was true and what was bull. On the medical side it most certainly works. But you can get that in a pill - with no high. I've already blabbed too long. It will ten, max twenty years when researchers and social scientists throw up their hands, saying, "We never knew! All the "science" said it was harmless. In the past 50 years there has been more social upheaval then the past 500 years. No, really, I do not grovel in the future of our children. I don't. But neither do I like the slide taking place and it is a slide for me. Oh, here's one more and this will be visiting us soon, very soon. We cannot sustain a 33 trillion dollar debt. It is political suicide to even attempt to put the brakes on. Do you realize you don't see a real paycheck until May 1st? Taxes and Federal interest on the debt. The debt is so large and been around so long we, including me, just tend to ignore it. But, sister, it's coming and when it does, those whack-job off -the-gridders with their guns may not look that crazy afterall. Sorry, third cup of coffee.
I haven't even been to a cinema since 2019 and that was to witness that crap that was Terminator Dark Fate and I went right off cinemas. Sadly I've never had any good reason to go back.
Not one way single one even interested me…NOT ONE..😢 it seems the golden age of cinema is over..there is no creativity, no soul anymore in any movies…haven’t seen one that interested me for years now…😭😭😭
I realky dont understand make a movie of a big time robbery having thw ridney king veridict day as a background? Who came up with that idea , and who aproved millions of dollars to make that movie? Who thought that was a good movie idea that would attract viewers?
For anyone wondering it was reported that Ray Liotta completed the filming of his scenes for the movie '1992' before his death in May 2022...RIP Ray Liotta...
This is not the quality of films coming out. This is the quality of the few films featured in these trailers. Do you understand the difference? These are terrible Movies featured in one RU-vid video of terrible movie trailers. Try to keep up.
Looks like some good ones coming up. I am not that hard to please. Not every film needs to be a Godfather, a Dark Knight or a Dog Day Afternoon let alone a Mystic River or One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest. I’m satisfied if I can escape my ho hum life for a while. The selections have potential.
All these movies are terrible.... they magnify violence and praise it, no real story and no real thrill.....they are empty.... like all the brains of Hollywood and their worthless actors !!!
@@byronhobson6445 So, I am therefore wrong to attempt to better understand why the majority of recent films are full of violence and death? I think not! Besides, I am free to choose to watch whatever videos interest me for whatever reasons. I am also free to utilize this media platform to express my opinions about them. Yours is a narrow minded perspective that is rather simplistic and insulting as well.
@@lm4836 Nobody is racist here. Koreans make great movies, but the problem is that they all look the same...i mean the koreans, not their movies. How are people supposed to understand what's going on and who is who when they all look the same?
Movie Makers Have Lost Their Way..... Normally I want to be the hero in a Movie.... Nowadays I would never want to be a Hero in these movies... So I'm just not interested in the new movies... The heroes look like they are going through a horrible experience... Movie Hero's today are not fun and no one would want to be them...
I think it's because, as a species, we are discovering about ourselves that we always end up relating more with the villains. It's Disney's fault... Blame them
Unlike all of these pretentious comments about Hollywood doesn't make good movies anymore, the only reason I don't go to the theater anymore is because it's too expensive and people have forgotten how to behave in a theater. Hollywood still puts out great movies, I just watch them at home.
Every trailor these days give 95% of the story away from start to finish!! Why is it that nearly all of them appear to have terrible actors in and a butchered slowed down version of a classic song!!? Not seen a half decent thriller/horror in years.
he is sadly, but it seems he did a bunch of movies right up until then because i swear i have seen a good number of films come out after his passing that feature him
@@divinuminfernumCocaine Bear sucked, was sad that was his last, maybe this one can give a little cred back to him. Probably not if Tyrese is the main actor.
Covid must have done something to us. Everyone of these movies looks exactly the same. It even sounds like they are all using the same soundtrack. Wth?
I don't need to go to the cinema anyway I can get any movie for free on my fire stick and any TV series plus movie's are not that good anymore I was a big movie fan not anymore
Everythings so dam dramatic either they long and tedious or like these so pivotal ohh no got to save my son ohh my god not my friends organs just rubbish almost like the same people made them
The movie business is in big trouble. What a dismal collection. And what’s become of Mel Gibson? The trailer says “from the director of Braveheart and Hacksaw Ridge”. Has he fallen that far that they’re afraid to say his name?
The industry became a serial factory of films, one another and all very generic, and with regrettable CGI. Like the passion for making good quality films is being lost
30:54 - 30:58 if those sloppy 3D compositions are considered special effects, then the quality of effects has gone in the opposite direction of the hardware and software development. This is next level of expense economy and greed.
Damn... 1992...that was the year I was married and was at the Wat's section of LA as we were on our way to our honeymoon. I should have read the writing on the wall. Divorced now...
Flight Risk - one of those trailers that shows several significant points of the film, even though there's something secret still hidden. I look forward to the inevitable Lady Mary as US Federal Marshall memes.
