The game had so much jank that was discovered by the community. I’m not sure if they intended for it to become what it did… which is the only fear I have for Battle League.

I think its due to the style of new rpgs Earthbound is very creative and very weird and doesnt have alot of the "anime trappings" that he so often rails against I imagine he would porbably like something like stick of truth if he is a southpark fan

Older RPGs are more focused on the story/gameplay first but for some odd reason newer RPGs are not as creative with the art direction it’s anime galore and that turns a lot of people off. I love games like Paper Mario, South Park stick of truth, and Pokémon (with the exception of the newer ones) but just can’t get into anything new.

As long as Nintendo continues to add content to the expansion, the value of the expansion gets slightly better with every new added content. IMO as of right now the expansion is still isn’t worth it, but it could eventually be worth subscribing yearly if they add more stuff.

@@jenniferhamels1176 l agree that as long as they keep adding more and more content to the online+ subscription it will eventually reach a point where it's worth it, but l dont like how thats a tacid admission of them knowing it wasnt worth it before that point despite them happily releasing it before that point. Like, knowing that it'll eventually be worth it doesnt justify releasing it when it blatantly isnt worth it, especially since the things like dlc's are gonna be taken away from you the second your subscription runs out, whereas buying the dlc once for 25 bucks gives you the dlc forever. If it takes 3 years for online+ to be worth 25 dollars per year, many people have already paid 75 dollars for it, so at that point they've paid nintendo 75 dollars for content thats worth 25 dollars per year when the first two years werent worth 25 dollars :o

@@Sponsie1000 Nintendo also has a potentially cheaper option for their subscription service. Nintendo does offer a family plan that is actually incredible value, IF you can take full advantage of it. If you're not aware the family plan is basically a plan for up to 8 members max sharing the same service. It's $80 a year for the expansion pass. With the family plan at 8 members, it is basically $10 per person per year, instead of buying the subscription solo for $80 a year. That is incredible value. Obviously, the catch is getting 7 other people to join your family plan and give you $10 once a year for their share of the subscription. From this perspective, people who are taking advantage of the family plan, are getting a pretty good deal paying $10 a year for the same service someone else is paying $80 a year.

@@jenniferhamels1176 l'm aware of that offer, but are you also aware that playing games online on nintendo hardware has been free for the past ~10 years and they suddenly decided we should have to pay eventhough their servers are still very prone to messing up and lagging? Matter of fact, the first 9 months of the switch had free online until they decided to "offer" us that same service but for 10 dollars a year. 10 dollars aint much, but they're not really giving anything else in return. They're offering to give me some n64 games l've already played if l pay more for their online service, but where is my option to pay more for them to actually put some effort in their online connectivity? l'd rather pay for that than for dlc for games l dont even own

@@Sponsie1000 All those years Nintendo did free online, they were eating the cost. That is not sustainable at all. It was inevitable moving toward a paid system.
