I went to high school with JB at Saint Mary's. I was a Freshman while he was a Senior. He tutored me in math and was one of the nicest guys. I am so happy to see how successful he has become. Go get em JB.
I'm a Blazer fan and I agree that he should have been playing more, but over the last 10 or 11 games he has been getting around 22 minutes a game and has been amazing, averagine 11 points, 3 assists and 2.5 rebounds a game, and he is only getting better. Roy loves playing w/ him, and him and Roy in the backcourt are lethal.
@tapster99 He does very well in the NBA when he gets the minutes. Virtually everytime he plays 30+ minutes he plays exceptionally well and usually ends up with 18-22 points and like 7-8 assists. He's done this pretty much every time Jose Calderon has been out.
naw, he is better than Sergio at 19 years old. The kid got 20, 4 and 3 as an 18-19 year old in the toughest conference in the country in college. He is the real deal. Sergio can't even compare to him. He will pass up Blake in the starting unit soon enough. McMillan already says how much he loves him, and Roy said he can't wait to play with him in teh backcourt that their games are perfect togetehr. Nate gave him a huge hug when he saw him.
naw man, I don't think NAte doesn't like Sergio even though I understand where you can get that impression. But from watchin' every game this year, when Sergio got out there he was a liability on the court. He did have some awesome games where we needed a shot in the arm and he took over and created, they were great, but most the time the PG was driving right past him, they'd leave him open and he'd just take the shot and always miss, and Nate would have to take him out.
Well, the team has an option after this year, and if they don't take it, his contract runs out the year after. I don't see them re-signing him now, and I don't think Sergio would want to re-sign. There are plenty of teams he can play for that play more his style like Golden State, New York and Phoenix. Hopefully he really improves and we won't have to have this conversation, though. I like him and want him to stay.
If Sergio proves he is good enough, he will play. Simple as that. Its all up to him. Sergio worked on his game this summer, so we will see how it goes in camp. This is a make or break year for him. Everybody likes Sergio, but we don't like that he pouts about playing time, when honestly (and even spanish fans say this) he wasn't ready to come to the NBA yet. The Blazers might not be the best team for him, but he will find a home soon.
yeah man, but lets take McMillan out of it. I know you are probably a Sergio fan, but Nate gave him his chances. The guy can't shoot, can't play D, and turns it over (which Nate will live with because he is trying to make things happen). NBA defenders now play off sergio and only play him for his drives, which REALLY limits his offensive game a lot. Nate is just putting the players out on the court that give us the best chance to win.
i don't think so. He wasn't the starter last year. He is well suited to be the 6th man and come in and give instant scoring. If he isn't scoring (and with the first unit he would be the 4th or 5th option), he really isn't adding anything to the team. Webster learned how to contribute without scoring and his game is better suited as the starting 3 (better defense and better long range shooter) with our team of playmakers and dominant post players. I think Nate sees this also, he did last year.

I understand what you are saying. I just think his game is best suited for a energy, impact scorer off the bench. I actually think one day he will be the starting SF though.
he remind me so much of Jason Williams when he was at Duke him and Jennings together would be scary, not sure if Bayless will stay for sure, he is guaranteed to be a Top 5 pick
get a video editing program, get footage, get a good song, and edit it with transitions and make sure the song is on beat and correlates correctly with the footage.

I really hope BC doesn't waste the Raptor's pick on a PG. Bayless just needs to time to shine. The Raptors were a much better team with Jerryd on the floor. Check his draft profile; he was 10x the prospect coming out of college then almost every PG but Kyrie in this draft. He's only FINALLY getting some time to show what he's capable of. I really, really hope Colangelo gets that and looks for talent in other much needed positions like C or SF by going for Kanter, Biyombo and maybe Jan.

how can you say that? bayless has a better shot doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that. just look at their games. rose is more of a penetrator he hardly takes shots to begin with. bayless is a shooter and a slasher his shot is definitely better than rose's. portland is holding him back but not because of his offensive capability its cuz he is not a true 1 he is a combo guard and since they have roy they didnt need him taking shots from roy.
I don't know if you're a Blazers fan but I am a die-hard and I've watched every single game but Bayless's shot isn't better than Rose or the other way around. They're both mediocre shooters. And another one is that even if Bayless could shoot better, it's hard to tell watching games because Rose plays like 30 minutes more on avg than Bayless. Overall point though is that neither of them are the "better" shooter. But I think Bayless is still going to be better than Rose. Next year, it's on.
Ok Jeremy, I think the same than you, that in another team with another style he could play more, but don't you think that he has done well his work when he had opportunities? For example this year vs. Utah or Atlanta? In my opinion yes, but I'm sure that McMillan doesn't like Sergio, and if Portland doesn't re-sign his contract is Nate's fault, cause -like you said- everybody in Portland likes Sergio. Bayless is more of a scorer while he avg 19.4 in college and scoring 29.4 in summer while rose scored 14.9. I think its still to soon blazers were stacked with pg's with sergio blake. I think this year will be bayless year to start. I think rod strickland and the bulls have done a great job in shaping rose up to a true pg BLAZERS SHOULD TAKE NOTE.
One thing is what McMillan says and another very different is what he does...is a reality that he doesn't like Sergio, but he's to say that he likes because Kevin Pirtchard loves Sergio. McMillan doesn't matter if Sergio plays well or not, he played six or seven minutes whatever he done, for example the 8 assists in 6 minutes vs. Timverwolves...Sergio Jugón!!
Dudes pissed he went 11th. As an arizona fan he reminds me of Gilbert Arenas with more explosiveness, even wore number 0 this season. He is a winner who will live and die basketball. Im a portland fan now, him and arizona alum channing frye and an almost wildcat brandon roy make it easy to love the blazers.
yess i liked jerryd's game from the moment he played for the raps. he is young, and is still finding his role. but i believe he can be a great PG for us. D rose like.. if anyone has watched raps vs bullsg games, bayless has always shown big games against rose.
looks like he has an invisible trampoline, nice hops, definitely he can play he is just an injury away from breaking in the rotation portland is keeping him on hold because if he breaks out they gonna have a hard time keeping all of these young guns in their line up
What people dont talk about very often about JB is that he's an outstanding on ball defender. Hes pretty much a phenom on both sides of the ball... anyone who thinks he'll be off the bench in the NBA is just plain ignorant. After Rose and Beasly, its tough to argue anyone ahead of Bayless

I hope Bayless leaves Portland. It`s BS that he hasn`t seen the playing time he deserves. How Rose can be ROY but Bayless barely sees the court is ridiculous. There is no excuse leaving that kind of talent buried on the bench.

Jerryd Bayless is a better shooter. If he started and got the minutes Rose gets, you'd see that. That's what he came out of college doing. Shooting. He doesn't drive to the basket like Rose. Rose might have improved him jumper to be good, but Bayless always had it.

Rose=better player. Bayless=better jumpshot. bayless definitely has a better jumper than rose trust me on this guys this is coming from a guy that watched the dude play in arizona... his jumper is on point.

bayless's shot is NOT much better than rose's. Did you see Rose's 36 point game against the Celtics in the playoffs? Also, Rose has better playmaking skills, athleticism, and strength.

the only thing the scouts didn't like about him was his short wingspan 6'3" compared to rose's (6'8") but i agree with you, bayless has more of an offensive arsenal than rose has
The only 2 players i would take ahead of bayless would be rose or beasly.. I really hope to see this kid in a knicks uniform, and let Mark Jackson mold him into a true point guard
This video is like 90% dunks. In the NBA, Bayless is going to score maybe 4-5 points per game on dunks (and that only if he plays the whole game). Show us what else he can do.

arizona is the best college in my opinion to go play for cuz even if theyre unraked they can still produce players and get them nba ready by playing competitive teams
Bayless has alot of talent, but he won't see much playing time with the Blazers because he is a shooter and they already have Roy, so expect him to be traded within a year.
i was at a few of his games, him playing HS basketball was a joke, it was like he was messing with little kids. I think the last dunk was at Desert Mountain High School.

Bayless is bigger and taller than Derrick Rose, what are you talking about... Rose is closer to 6'2 (measured taller because he's the consensus #1) and he's 10lbs lighter. Also, Bayless is not selling himself as a PG, more of a Rudy Gay type player.
