Nobody on this Earth could have come close to John Candy's performance of Del Griffiths in Planes, Trains and Automobiles. As a grown ass man, that movie still makes me cry. What a talent we all lost when John passed away far too young, beautiful guy, unmatched talent.
Hey man..............I cry too watching that movie....( I`m 56 btw )............it`s just a brilliantly funny, heartwarming, great movie. The end.......where Neil goes back, and takes Del home for thanksgiving................it`s Niagara Falls everytime............and Johns acting goes straight into your soul. John Candy had the same quality as Robin Williams. They weren`t just funny, but they could play tragic, serious characters aswell. May they rest in peace both of them...........❤
It's his best movie by far. Uncle Buck is very good too but Planes, Trains and Automobiles really is on another level. He should have gotten an Oscar for his performance.
My Canadian landlord built his house and had a barbecue with him. He said he is exactly the same off camera as on. Very funny and great genuine guy. Badly missed.
I cried the day I found out he passed, he was my absolute favorite and still is ❤ The last scene of Uncle Buck and now in this video, always brings tears to my eyes. He was a treasure that we lost too early ❤❤
The most good-hearted performer of our time. And a pretty great actor underneath all the comedy. Some nice smaller moments in this compilation--thanks!
Agreed. He was apparently planning on taking more serious roles when he passed away. I wish we had seen more of his dramatic talents, the little bits we got in some movies truly show what a wonderful actor he was.
@@misterwhyte I've never heard anything but great things about him. His daughter said he was essentially Uncle Buck in real life. The character was his true persona.
I wasn't old enough to share new moments with John... but he is easily still one of the top role models I have. Wish things could be different John... youre missed.
My father was a Fan of John candy movies and honestly so was I. I still remember the days of watching uncle buck with my father. Heck if there was one gift I could truly ask it’s to see John candys planes trains and automobiles again for the first time. Man do I love that movie
Awesome job!! Thank you for sharing this. It'll be the best nine minutes and thirty-five seconds I'll see today. Along with John Belushi, Randy Rhoads, Lemmy and Eddie Van Halen, no other celebrity passing hit me as hard as John Candy's Incredibly actor. Hilarious human. The genuine article. 😀
EXCELLENT....Thanks for this video....I think John Candy was UNDERRATED.....Very good actor..EXCELLENT I should say.....and his comedy is mixed with drama.....Isnt as fake as Jim Carrey or the stunts by Steve Martin....or predictable imitations by Robin Williams......GRACIAS...THANK YOU for this TRIBUTE to Mr. John Candy (1950-1994)....GOD he died in MEXICO at the early age of 44.......RIP
In A lot of his films he had some pretty nice meaningful one -on-one scenes with his fellow actors . in Summer Rental he had them with Keri Green and Joey Lawrence . In The Great outdoors he had them with Ian Giatti and Chris Young. In Planes Trains and Automobiles he had one with Steve Martin . in Home Alone He had one with Catherine O’hara
Some guy named James Beckley on RU-vid just re-posted this video with no listed credits at all. It is this exact video just re-uploaded. Twins! Anyway, your work is so good people are stealing it. Well done!
I'm thankful John Candy got to complete Cool Runnings & Canadian Bacon (before the film's release got delayed to 1995) before he died. IMO, they're his last two great films.
