I love the fact that he was a supposed amazing guitarist but never played in front of people outside a special closed circle.... That's like Prince saying he has music too good for human ears. This dude got around for his day too. Props and respect to Paganini.

Multumesc! Eram copil cind la tv alb/negru, rula filmul PAGANINI, pe timpul lui Ceausescu! Acest Mare Muzician, a avut o viata zbuciumata! A compus o muzica rascolitoare, muzica lui este ca un adinc melancolic si o mare involburata! Iti patrunde pina in maduva oaselor, aceasta muzica ca o apa curgatoare!

ПАГАНИНИ владел виртуозно и Скрипкой и Гитарой! Иначе мы бы не Смогли воссоздать ВсЕ эти Прекраснейшие Произведения! Не с ,,чистого,, листа играют Оркестры и Музыканты..? ЕСТЬ партитуры сохраненные со времен ПАГАНИНИ и, ЭТО Факт. Так Что слушаем И, Восхищаемся!!!

No composer's music (other than Tchaikovsky) can bring me to rolling tears of pure bliss and wonderment at such beautiful mastery. Not to say I don't love the other classics, but Paganini is second to NONE.

sbenton8 I am in absolute agreement with you! “Bliss and master,” are words most becoming of his talent. I love to wear my most feminine dresses and twirl~~to his music! It inspires effortless movement. My graceful pets show their respectful glee. No teaching of children’s dance school should be without his music! Especially in apartment buildings at private studios in Moose Jaw! Where a Canadian Big Wig Kicked a dance school out! Paganini will fix this! Don’t forget children! Keep loving your teachers and lessons! Shame on BLC!

Mi accomodo sul tuo violino, chiudo gli occhi e attendo che spieghi le ali perchè sò che mi trascinerai fra tuoni e tempeste e nuvole nere cariche di pioggia dove trovano spazio i tuoi accordi stridenti, graffianti che aprono nella mia anima porte mai aperte. il vero genio è nel fare un balzo oltre le nuvole ed aprirsi ad un sole splendente e una musica dolce e tenera. sono passati 183 anni da quando ti sei allontanato, ma il tuo violino ci tiene sempre compagnia. Nada..se compara al violin....lo mas cercano a la voz soprano. Puede transmitir tantos sentimientos. Hombres como Paganini fueron bendecidos en una epoca donde el arte se manifestaba en su forma mas pura!!! . Lastima el patriarcado nos privo de tener mujeres compositoras en esos tiempos.

Extraordinario poder escuchar nuevamente a Peter Lukas Graft aunque sea en discos; a él lo conocí en directo, en la década del 60, en el Teatro Municipal de Santiago, y venía como invitado por la orquesta del Colegio Músico de Helvetia, y me comentó respecto de un disco que yo llevaba en mis manos de la Sinfonía 0 Jena, en ese entonces aún de Beethoven, y me dijo "muy mala versión".- Gracias por esta puesta.

Paganini was the greastest stage phenomenon in history, nobody before or since having made the impression that he left on Europe after his first continental tour. His muse appears to have been essentially melodic, in the Italianate style of contemporaries such as Rossini and Donizetti. The flashes of chromaticism, however, set him ahead of the crowd. It is worth noting that, as a violinist, his heartfelt adagios were praised as much as his virtuoso feats. His love of the guitar is evident in his legacy, which features studies, solo sonatas, duets, trios and quartets with guitar and strings. In this respect, he is without doubt the most important composer for the guitar from the period. His fresh melodic style and boundless, Early Romantic optimism shine through every bar. This is a fine selesction, although more chamber music might have been included - not least, the lovely Cantabile for violin and guitar?

I have loved Paganini, specifically the 6 concerti, for 40 years. I often hear that other violonists like Viotti or Spohr were more genius and that Paganini was frivilous and artificial .....but I prefer Paganini.
