@@thedotmandoobIf the mavs Go through the Playoffs, being a contender now and maybe win it... How IS it a mistaken If you do Not give full effort in defense in regular while giving so much Energy on offense. And Just watch after trade Deadline mavs defense stats. Not possible with two Guys WHO do often Not defend
I love how in addition to elite offense, Kyrie and Luka have stepped up massively on defense. Luka especially has been able to defend one on one in many situations. Really hope these guys win the championship! Also, great video! Look forward to everything you post!
As a hard of hearing viewer, I appreciate that you have accurate captions so quickly with on the video. Makes a big difference, I've been lurking and commenting here and there for awhile but you've got a new subscriber here!
Construction-wise, this Mavs team is like the "Return of LeBron" era Cavs but different at the same time. Luka is like Bron because he's that big playmaker who stuffs the stat sheet, but different because he thrives a lot on skill-based shot creation unlike Bron who thrived mostly on his peak athleticism. Kyrie is still Kyrie, but more enlightened this time because he's seen things both good & bad. PJ Washington is Kevin Love being the resident stretch 4, but different because he's more lanky & athletic than KLove which makes him more switchable on defense. They even have their hustle / rim protection bigs a la Tristan Thompson & Timofey Mozgov in Gafford & Lively, the athletic perimeter stopper a la Iman Shumpert in Derrick Jones Jr., and the volume shooting wing a la JR Smith in THJ. Oh, I think I almost forgot... they even have that Aussie playmaker off the bench a la Delly in Dante Exum to cap off the borderline eerie similarities between both teams. 👀
In fubol (soccer,) there is the saying, "joga bonito," meaning "the beautiful game" or "play beautifully" to describe one's elegant and beautiful way of playing. Kyrie Irving is the embodiment of this phrase. He may not be the best basketball player ever, but man, is he the most esthetic amd fun to watch. I'm so happy he is finding his place here in Dallas, I sure hope he retires here.
well most ppl saw the at the end of last year we knew that kyrie might be a problem and over the whole career up till this year the mostly have been net negatives of d so ppl saying they might not work where just going by what they have seen up till that point. also i think if the didn't improve on d and pj save them for 2 games they would not be here
@user-ut1qw1ts1k but people were saying Ky and luka wouldn't work due to their playstyles not meshing well which goes to show nba fans do not even watch the sport as KY has played next to 2 extremely ball dominate players prior to luka and he was elite both times
@@ljreigns1945 yes but lebron is a near dpoy player the other team didn't work at all. also the main thing you forget is that they where both net negatives on d if you go up againist sga with 2022 luka and ky they loses in 7
Twolves will make adjustments. I thought it was over for them after losing 3 straight but they socked Denver in g6 on their way to win the series. Whoever wins this series is winning the chip. Boston has not faced a mentally tough opponent on their way to the finals while the mavs and twolves got rid of the 1st seed, the defending champs and a paper superteam.
Speed over Experience brought Twolves to this game. Let's see if it's gonna work, again, against Doncic and Irving. What Twolves need to realize is that they have to face two MVP in this series, instead of just one Jokic.
The fact that they were so atrocious from 3 is both promising and worrying for the mavs. They had to work so hard and do all this wizardry to keep up with Wolves who simply made their 3s. Yet that they managed to do that at doesn't bode well for the Wolves. If just a couple more 3-balls fall this game is a blowout. It will be interesting to see how both teams adjust and I'm especially curious if Ant will step it up cause he honestly didn't look that great.
@@djkido316 And? What does that have to do with my point? Did we ad him at the deadline? No... but thats what the original comment said. "when they add 2 WING DEFENDERS" and we didnt!
Kyrie is too quick for Ant. If he continues to guard him, say bye bye to his offensive game. He'll run out of gas. Mavs is a different kind of beast. If Wolves don't adjust, boi oh boi, they could get swept or go home early.
It felt like the Mavs did the bare minimum to win it, whereas the Wolves gave their all, hit them all and still lost. I wonder how they are planning to turn this around. I hope it doesn't include violence. OKC are watching Luka and Kyrie run around happily and score, thinking: "Yeah, now that they can." I hope the Mavs win and go to the finals and win again because it's only proper.
Gobert sticking to drop coverage the entire game despite it being one of Lukas greatest strengths was also kind of baffling. He'll take the defence apart no matter what, but I feel like Gobert's approach makes it much easier.
Those first two plays were for sure a travel, specially the first one. Luka is still nasty no doubt. This is gonna be a great series, just want more consistency from the refs.
If luka and kyrie win it all kyrie would have beaten his former teammate in harden while playing better then harden all series then beat the 1 seed then beat the wolves who have all the momentum in the world after beating the defending champs then beating the city that hates him the most in boston
Ant is too small for Luka (ik that sounds crazy but it is what it is) McDaniels is too slow for ky. McDaniels is definitely too little for Luka and ant doesn’t have the stamina too keep up with ky for all that time for at least 4 games. This series is over. I suggest wolves just use this as a learning experience and get better next year. Hats off to luka and Kyrie on getting a ring this year. Idk why ppl are even surprised we know who Luka and ky are
I don't know it's possible it's over but, if the wolves figure out how to play their game again, they might still win it. Dalles looked stronger but Luka and Kyrie played absolutely incredibly crafty. The question is will they be able to keep it up if the wolves just bumb em on every possession instead of trying to stop 🛑 them and focus on their own offence a little more. It's gonna be a battle of will again so, even if they make it through the finals will be incredible tough (exhaustion). As far as defense goes, don't even try to fully stop Kyrie and Luka, just play physical on every possession and get the rebounds. Then with that extra energy make your shots and the wolves win, cause it's two against 5 or 2 vs 4 out there. But it's incredibly fun to watch.
You are crazy for talking like this is some foregone conclusion. Either you're a fanboy or you hate them and wanna set them up for the old Skip Bayless hedge of if they win, it was easy and if they lose, it was a historic chokejob...after talking about how overrated said team was all year and how great the opposition was lol
@@DeadSezSo when watching the game all I could vision was a karate teacher teaching a student, I just don’t know what the wolves can do to keep up with them. Maybe im overreacting, time will tell. We’ll revisit shortly brother ❤️
Splash Bros were better, maybe not as skilled but their past success speaks volumes. If Luka and Ky win a couple of championships together THEN we can have the conversation about them being the “Best Backcourt We’ve Ever Seen.” 💯
The Warriors with their backcourt beat a Cavs team that was around the fifth best team of all time. And they did it with ease. Let's not start glowing each other just yet
Can't believe anyone doubted this team up. It's a better lebron plus kyrie. And both are in a good place. However I will disown all of the NBA if pacers win this year
Don’t argue Kai & Luka are the best. It’s unfair to have 2 of the greatest scores on the same team with a good defense. Everybody will see after they win the chip. I feel like Kyrie hasn’t even turned it all the way on yet.
Sooooo we're not going to talk about the blatant travel by Luka at 0:50 🤨 I"m editing this message because he travels age in less than fifteen seconds 🤦🏿♂0:58
Im just saying.. Steph doesnt score 24 in a half with Ant on him, nor does he rain 3s with McDaniels on him And Klay lived off the defense targeting Steph
@@djkido316 Offensively the best was between Denver and Boston. Defensively the best has been Minnesota all season. They've been neither for this past season.
@@yom0mma214 I know what he said. I'm saying it's wrong. I'm saying that all season, no matter which portion of it, the teams I said were the best on those sides of the court.
luka and Kyrie are an awesome duo but best offensive backcourt ever? maybe thats my personal preference but id take Steph and Klay in their prime over them
We are going to forget Harden-CP3 backcourt that neraly destroyed the best team of all time huh? Lol. But props to luka and kyrue for being a great backcourt too
Harden in the playoffs was never and never will be as good as Luka, Do you even know who's the second leading scorer in the NBA Playoff history? Its Luka, Harden isn't even in top 5 lol. Kyrie was and always will be better than CP3.
Sir what makes you call the backcourt of Luka and Kyrie historic I saw someone say it was the best backcourt in NBA history and I was quite confused as to why
Name a better one. Noone is saying better duo. But name another backcourt duo that averaged 59.5/14.2/15 on 49.2/39.5/81% shooting splits in the reg season... Not even Curry/Thompson came ever close to that production.
@@Smido83 stats is not everything, especially reg season, until Ky and Luka keep the elite consistency in over a decade and some rings along the way, then they are not better
@@jahdaijackson4755prime klay and Steph vs Prime Ky and Luka. If we going accolades/accomplishments then ofc GS. But I do think that Ky&Luka have far more to offer all around as players. Ofc that GS run will still forever be legendary. Never want to downplay them so I hope I did not
Luka/Kyrie averaged 59.5/14.2/15 on 49.2/39.3/82% shooting splits in the reg season. Even Curry/Thompson came never close to that. Noone said most winning backcourt...
@@jiji-t3x Curry is a better shooter then Luka. Everything else? Its Luka. And Thompson is aC&S guy. I admit, probably one of the best ever, but he is also not even in Kyries ballpark.
