When I found this video in 2017 I had fine, short, dirty brown, unhealthy natural hair. 6 months after doing this weekly, my hair was no longer fine but extremely thick and I am so thankful for this video. I encourage anyone who comes across this video, try it. It works! My hair is now thicker, longer, much darker and healthier! Thank you Green beauty!

Y'ALL THIS WORKS!🙌 My non-existent edges grew back in less than 2 months!!! I used onions, garlic, ginger, vitamin e oil, and rosemary+peppermint essential oil. I applied it on my edges every night (missed a few) for 1 hour and rinsed it out. After I put an oil (Wild growth hair oil) to seal in the moisture. I started seeing drastic results within 3 weeks! I've tried everything okay! JBCO, virgin hair fertilizer, rice water...I even shaved my edges (yupp you heard me) two years ago because I thought they would grow back (but they didn't lol)😩 This works! It stinks but it's really effective!!! Here are some tips that may help! 1. Don't brush your edges leave them alone. Make sure your bonnet is secure (I sleep with a satin bonnet and I secure it with a head band) because if it isn't it can actually stress your hairline. 2. Drink water and stay healthy lol. You are what you eat so have a balanced diet. 3. Apply the mix to your edges and leave it in the refrigerator for a week for optimal freshness. 4. Leave your edges alone!!!! I can't stress this enough. Stop using gels, and combs/brushes on your edges. Also, make sure your "protective style" is really protecting your hair. I lost my eges because of tight box braids, cornrows and afropuffs. Putting your hair in a ponytail everyday is not healthy! I had to learn the hard way. 5. Anddddd take progress pictures!😊 I did and I can definitely see the difference. I hope that helps! God bless❤

Another way to make onion juice- Slice a red onion (organic if possible) in 4 pieces and boil it...a red onion does not smell as strong as a reg onion and makes hair grow faster ..add manuka honey or any raw honey to mask the odor and to keep the hair from drying out ....massage the mixture on your scalp for 3-5 minutes,put your hair in a ponytail far back as you can and you can also put a thick cotton cloth headband on to avoid it getting in the eyes. .....Place a plastic cap on head for 30-45 minutes then rinse or shampoo with Lemon Castile Soap by Carolina Castile Soap or any non toxic shampoo...if the smell from the onion still exist then try a lemon or lime rinse/conditioner on your hair as a final rinse by squeezing half a lemon into one glass of distilled or filter water or make an infusion with fresh rosemary and use it as a rinse or add baking soda to shampoo..Once or twice a month should be sufficient for this treatment...Moisturize well with cold pressed oil etc.....or you can simply wash your hair with raw manuka honey,bs molasses or maple syrup,this stuff makes your hair grow .

THE GOSPEL: We are all sinners and it is impossible for us to save ourselves. Christ died on the cross for your sins, was buried, rose again the third day. He died for ALL your sins, past, present, future. Put your faith in Him as your Savior and you are saved and going to heaven forever. Only faith alone in Christ alone will save you, ZERO human effort or works. Once saved, always saved. Do you believe the gospel? Yes. No.

Using 3 of the best natural foods for hair health and growth at one time is an awesome idea. I used the garlic only for 2 months, 3 days weekly, for a whole different scalp purpose, not knowing it would greatly increase my hair density, strengthen, give shine, lengthen and grow my hair fast. That was a great bonus. But I do recommend using a glass bottle/jar to store any leftover juice when using the boil method. This will also ensure a more potent concoction over the days vs storing the juice in a plastic bottle. :) Also, I would apply the juice in the early am or right when I get home from work, apply a couple of shower caps (leakage and the smell), and after a couple of hrs reapply more juice as the hair soaks it up over time, then reapply till gone or if you reapplied at least twice.

I love your videos! They are very informative and concise. My crown had thinned after getting braids consistently in the early 2000's. I then got diagnosed with breast cancer in 2013 and lost all of my hair from the aggressive chemo. My hair has been slowly growing back since I completed my treatments in 2014 and also from the preventative medications (tamoxifin) I was put on. I'm hoping that trying this onion treatment as well as consulting with a dermatologist will help me with crown thinning and slow growth issues. Thanks again for taking the time to make these great videos.

Hello! I do the onion treatment weekly and one of the challenges is the lingering smell. A RU-vidr had a video to help get rid of the onion smell. She used vinegar and water. 1 part vinegar and 2 part water after your onion rinse. Leave the vinegar mixture in your hair for 15 minutes and WAALAA, the smell is gone. It actually works!! The vinegar mixture also removes bacteria from your scalp. Leaving your healthy hair and scalp feeling great 😊!

So, it's wash day today and I came here to revisit and refresh my mind on the recipe. It didn't do much for my many strands of gray, i thought, like you said it did for your few strands back then. Many more grays now, but we'll see... Thanks lady!👍🏾

I'll be doing this this weekend. Unfortunately I suffered a hair setback so what I'm going to have to do is cut over 50% of my hair. Over the past two weeks I've been documenting some things that I'll be using in order to get my hair to grow back stronger than before. I think this is going to be a great addition to my new hair re-journey. I actually created my own onion juice recipe by adding to the onion juice, garlic and cayenne powder was black tea and green tea .. I actually reduced shedding to almost nothing after the very first use, so I know this definitely works. I'm also going back to the basics and start using blue magic hair conditioner sulfer 8 for eight. I remember using this and my hair grew like weeds. Protein treatments once a month, over night deep conditioner under my steam hair dryer once a week. One thing that I am considering is doing the "greenhouse effect" whenever I can. I also want to include rice water somewhere in there. Just thought I would fill you in on my hair re-journey. Any advice will be welcomed! Also want to thank you for the videos they are all very very informative!

I used to use an union mask when the front of my hair broke off due to braid being to tight, I had three clean bald patches right in front of my head. I used an onion mask and it seemed that it started to work that night because when I woke up the next morning, I noticed and felt a little fuzz, I continued it for a month and my hair grew back and has not broke off ever since, thus happens around 2012. So I can truly confirm that this works the same as the onion mask. The difference is with the onion mask I used a little apple cider vinegar and aloe water to blend it.

Hmm i never tought putting cayenne in my mixture. Will add it to my current recipe. I prefer the blend method, because while most of the chemical is not destroyed with the heat, it sure does affect a bit the msm which is heat sensitive. I really like that video. Another option replace the alcohol infusion, is to infused the oignon and garlic in vinegar. I've done and it works great. Also an oil infusion work great. Castor oil is a great option but i prefer infusing the onion, garlic ginger and curcuma in mustard oil. Also the more oil it has, the longer it will preserve. They all good recipes. Just a matter of preference. As usual, very good oil and I will cayenne now.

I didn't make it pass 2:21 before I was so inspired that I made a 100% natural leave-in conditioner version this product. It's light and just works lovely, I used Shea butter, Olive oil, and Cayenne pepper infused coconut oil (for the Cayenne pepper) for my water phase I took MSM powder (for the sulfur) mixed with water, Aloe vera, and glycerin, an emulsifier, lavender and rosemary E/O and a preservative. Because it is not heavy it can be used as a lotion, it can be applied to the scalp, and the hair, and best of all ( for me) It does not have to be rinsed out. Thanks for your inspiring video, I think I will continue watching now.

@GreenBeauty
@GreenBeauty 8 месяцев назад
Hey, that’s a good question. If we are just talking about hair, both options have their pros and cons. The PRO of eating onions for benefits to your hair is that your body will metabolize it and use it on a cellular level. Assuming you eat really well and your health is top tier, eating onions will make your whole body healthier and in turn making the hairs that grow out your scalp healthier. The CON from eating onions solely for the benefit of your hair is that it has to go through your digestive system. So, if you have absorption issues, you may not be taking in all its benefits. Also, our bodies are really good at prioritizing so, if there are other issues in your body, most of the nutrients in the “onions” will go there and NOT your hair. The PRO with using onions directly on your scalp is that it’s absorbed directly into your hair follicles. The CON with using onions directly on your scalp is it you use it too often it can make your scalp supper tender or even burn it. So, for me I do both. I have a West African diet (Nigerian) so, I eat A LOT of onions. I also use onion juice on my scalp once a month on my wash day. I hope this helps 💚💚

@joneslr25
@joneslr25 Год назад
UPDATE: ...so it's been 1 month and I've done 4 Onion juice treatments. 1st treatment was her boil method, I left it on for about 1.5hours covered with a plastic cap. After washing, conditioner etc I noticed immediately that my hair was SUPER soft and was easier to detangle. 2nd Onion treatment was again boil method and same results. 3rd onion treatment was the Juicing method. I noticed that shedding was reduced tremendously AND my hair was SUPER Shiny plus the softness and ease of detangling too. 4th onion treatment the juicing method and I could probably count the few strands that shed, it was basically nothing really and my hair is so soft and easy to detangle, plus it's so shiny, it just stays that way now. Pros: less shedding Easier to detangle Super Soft More elasticity with hair strands Shine Cons: STINKS!!! STINKS!!! Hard to get the smell out my hair, no matter how many times or what I use, a slight onion scent lingers in my hair, but only during shower, or if I sweat. I HATE IT!!! Annoying to Juice, the straining process SUCKS!!! I could stick with the boil method but it seems like the juice method yields better and more immediate results. Sometimes I left the onion juice in my hair for hours out of laziness.... Lastly I've noticed that I'm getting fine like baby hair all around my edges, and also my edges are filling in with this odd hair.... My edges at the temple area were thin and I've noticed hair growth is not much but it is noticeable I'm careful not to mess with it lol. I don't know if my hair has grown overall significantly, I haven't checked for that and unsure how but I'm mainly focusing on my edges and less shading. OK last, last thing.... My hair is darker. My hair is normally like a super dark brown/black dull color (I've never dyed my hair in my life) and now it's super dark and shiny, I love it. I hate this smell though, it makes me sad and self-conscious, I'm going to continue to do the onion treatment for 1 year though. I'll just experiment to figure out how to safely get rid of the smell... Again it's only a faint onion smell when my hair gets wet or if I sweat. I smell like soup.

Just did my 1st onion rinse yesterday using the boil method. I’ve been experiencing a lot of breakage and shedding mostly on my ends. My plan is to do this once per week as well as keeping my hair in protective styles...wish me luck!

I added tea tree and lavender essential oil to help preserve the mixture and refrigerated the extra. Also added ginger for even more benefits. Yesss!!!!!!

Update- added Root4u recipe and added even more ingredients- well just 2 more so not too many ingredients. I added 1 tablespoon of nettle powder (it sizzled when added!) and 1 tablespoon on honey. So far I've noticed a bit less grayish and hopefully soon I'll see less thinning and a thickening of my hair.

Thank you so much for this video. This channel is so helpful and informative when it comes to hair care...Especially afro-textured hair. I love you not only gave us the measurements of the recipe, but also how to incorporate it into your regimen to get great results. As well as what not to do. Please never stop spreading informative information. I'm learning so much for this channel. I'm going to try this to help grow back my edges and for overall hair growth. Will there be a video on how to help combat frizz in the future? The roots of my hair always seem to get frizz and dry faster then the rest of my hair.

Kenisha White Your cuticles could be lifted. Have you tried a cold aloe vera juice and water spritz? That combo will lay the hair's cuticle down and reduce frizz.

No I haven't. Can I use this combination everyday or only on wash days? Is there a certain part in my regimen that I should use it? Sorry I'm so new to this and I'm trying to get my hair healthy.

Kenisha White A slight spritz daily might do the trick. Try sealing the moisture in with an oil or butter right afterwards. It's all about finding out, and ENJOYING finding out, what our hair likes. :-) When I stopped thinking about taking care of my hair as a chore, and started thinking of it more as an opportunity to really get involved and excited about its care, it became less daunting and more enjoyable. Hope it helps!

Crisszilla you have been such a great help to me. I'm going to start doing this. And changing my way of thinking as well. It also seems like taking care of my hair shouldn't be as expensive as I thought it would be. I just have to stop being lazy and thinking negative about this journey (my hair will never be as healthy as I want it to me. I don't know what I'm doing. Etc..) And start seeing it as an exciting adventure that will pay off in the end without hurting my pockets in the process lol. Thank you soo much for your help!

Thank you for a professional to the point alll bases covered video. My hair is thin, fine and will lose its curl at the threat of anticipated rain and usually doesn't hold curls due to its thinness . I have nothing to lose therefore I will give it a go. Thanks again for the great video.

So I've decided to start do this as both an antifungal and growth treatment alongside using the African black soap shampoo. I've seen results from the shampoo but I've decided to add the onion juice to my regimen so that my hair can grow and my scalp can be healthy again. So last week I started with the shampoo and this week I added the onion juice and will be alternating the onion every other week. This will be long term, so I'll update.

Olivia Colbert how's it going?

So I did this routine for a month (4 washes). Instead of alternating I did both because the shampoo really helped cleansed and nourish my hair due to the soap and oils. And really got out that funky smell. Let me just say, a month before this routine I was plagued with a fungus on my scalp. My hairdresser told me that if I hadn't changed my diet and started using the right products it can worsen into something permanent, like psoriasis. Also I had a bald spot on the nape of my neck. A month after the routine, I went to my dresser and she asked if I was taking supplements because my spot was filling in and my hair was loads healthier. I still have problem areas but my scalp is getting back on track. Since then I've had to ditch my shampoo because I'm on long holiday overseas but I still do my onion and garlic wash and it still serves me. I've actually added tea tree oil for added anti-fungal benefits. But it's been amazing! Thank you Green Beauty for everything.

So I was using rice water. Never had any issues but I didn’t notice any visible growth so I stopped. I’m going to start trying this once a week when I wash my locs. I also just purchased your PH spritz and oil tx. I’m praying for results! I had surgery in December and I am losing my hair (mainly edges) as a side effect. When I mentioned my concerns to my doctor she only prescribed me iron pills because I’m anemic... I have been my whole life and I know that’s not the cause of my hair loss.

I just made the recipe doing the boil method I also added herbs during the boiling(rosemary, thyme and oregano) to cut down on the onion smell. Just starting hopefully I can stay consistent for 6 months and do it every 2 to 4 times a month.
