There was a 16 month maybe a two-year period when all the stars aligned for Connor McGregor.. people can hate him and dislike him and say that he’s no good now.. and that might be true But when he had his day, it was a glorious one that lasted about two years where he was just unstoppable. It was a site to behold, and some of the best pay-per-view I ever spent money on.
After his boxing match with Mayweather he had so much money it became kind of pointless for him to train and fight. The Guy was so rich he could have retired right there. He lost the grind and it showed in his last MMA fights starting with his first come-back vs khabib all the way to his last fight with Dustin.

Casuals think Khabib fought prime Conor....😂 hell no he didnt he fought a washed up 2 year lay off coked up alcoholic Conor who lost his hunger and Motivation and had lost his Karate stance and had a shitty boxing stance..
Conors best performance is arguably against khabib, he was literally winning all rounds but he was shook from the gunman showing up in his locker room before his fight, they literally robbed him, khabib would've never got the W without spooking conor witha. gun, wtf.

@@razzledazzle3863 he’s given the ufc the best entertainment it’s ever had. Transformed the company, won 2 world titles and produced some the best performances in ufc history. Take your tongue out khabibs a** you loser 😂. Couldn’t dream of achieving what he has, whether he’s a cock or not you’ve got to admire greatness.

@@avecinaahmadalonto4169Khabib is not making 145 lol he bearly made 155 tons of times in his career and pulled out a few times I believe against tony Ferguson
Definitely the BEST performance in UFC history! Went up a weight class to fight the champ and beat him FLAWLESSLY to be the worlds first simultaneous CHAMP CHAMP!
It's relative man. Connor at FW was one of the best to do it. It's just the fact that he became bigger then to sport and lost his drive. @@ronjones3977
@@red_panda_boots just say your a casual khabib isn't overrated dude lost like 2 rounds his whole career......he is one of the greatest ....fought and dominated everyone Conor couldn't defend his title once yet gets all this fanfare he's by far the most overrated
@@ronjones3977 I mean khabib is def top 10 but so many people say hes the goat which he def isnt true considering his resume is very shallow, and tbh conor now is lowkey underrated as alotta people just think of the khabib fight and dp 2&3 when they think and talk abt conor, and not his pre-maywhether career
Prime Connor mcgregor makes him one of the greats there’s no doubt, now just to wait for the khabib fans comments and try discredit what he did in this sport 😂
@10thclimbtovictorystevens65 he did But he definitely beat a lesser Conor. The last time we seen prime Conor was against Mayweather. He was never the same since that. Javier Mendes said Conor is Khabibs toughest style opponent. And it was because of this version of Conor who fought Eddie. In a way I feel like we were robbed from what that fight could've been
I think he fully deserves the spot that he's in even if he's not at his greatest anymore. He truly is a masterclass striker and generally a spectacular fighter to watch.

In his prime I would put this Conor against any Lightweight rn and he would smoke all of them besides maybe Islam lets be real. What annoys me the most is that Conor could have easily continued at featherweight after that he just didnt know how to cut weight professionally.. In McGregor Poirier 2 Conor was only 170 pounds on fight night Dustin was fucking 186 pounds which is crazy. When you hear guys like Volk saying that hes cutting from 183 pounds to featherweight you know Conor just never had good professional people around him to cut weight sadly Conor is not a big guy at all or atleast was. Give Conor a good nutrientists and he would have made 145 easily every time and wouldnt even look like a Skeleton. He probably walked around at 175 180 thats an easy cut Strickland said he was 218 pounds in his vlog before the Dricus fight
This was hands down the greatest performance ever for a fighter gaining the title imo. (Just ignore Mcgregor as a personality and look at it through the scope of him just being another contender).
a lot of people don’t understand how crazy that was, eddie alvarez is one of the greatest lightweights in mma history no one beat him like that. conor made it look like he was a gatekeeper. eddie knocked out gaethje a year after too
@@andrewoberg Cerrone has never won a title and always lost in any number 1 contender fights he was put in against top guys. Double digits in losses and multiple losing streaks throughout his career. What made/makes Conor AND O'Malley special is their accuracy and shot placement. Not even the biggest fan but its just undeniable. Conor when he was hungry had a special run. We will see Seans as well

His quickness was his super power but fast twitch doesn't transfer over to the distance. To take a fight to the end you can't train that fast twitch the way he does. It's like a marathon runner vs a sprinter. If he catches you it's over, but if you get him into a final round you probably won.

That first four piece he lands to get the first knockdown is my favourite combo by far. It’s so ridiculously fast i barely caught what he threw when watching it live.
As a non biased fan i feel if he had that same hunger and wasnt swimming in money, i believe he wouldve given khabib a good go and maybe win. He went into that fight like an emotional bully underestimating khabib
Nah that Combo was matrix shit. I feel like the fight was moving in this exact slomo’d speed for Conor in his head during this fight. One of the nastiest combos in any fight sport I’ve ever seen.
That slip pull counter is crazy. To know the distance to move out of the way just enough to where a fist touches your nose but doesn't actually hit you and you stay in range to land a four-piece to knock someone out is crazy
This fight made people forget what kind of an animal Eddie was in his prime. Eddie was the real deal, an absolute savage and a true champion. The fact Conor did that to him and made it look that easy is the most impressive part of it
Something no one ever mentions from this fight: During the presser Eddie says to Conor "You got eight minutes of fight in you!" But when they fought, Conor hit Eddie with the knockout combination at exactly eight minutes into the fight
This was when Conor was still hungry for a name, accomplishment’s and money, I feel like the Conor of today knows that he has more than he could ever need and he also knows his name is already solidified in the history of the ufc, when you ain’t got it you’re determined to make it happen but once you already got it you don’t feel the same because now you’ve found what you are searching for you also found yourself an excuse to not work as hard or it’s a excuse to just not do it at all anymore
Connor was exciting and everyone has a punchers chance when they have power. They’d not be naive, he was fast tacked because of his ability to make money and that’s fine, but that’s why he won anything. This was always going to happen.
@cpilfold420 imagine commenting under my comment defending BRENDAN SCHAUB for saying he's never seen somebody move while getting hit. Sounds like you got a lil CTE in you, bubba
Conor looked good in that fight, Diaz is honestly just a bad matchup for Conor style wise, he’s almost impossible to finish and Conor doesn’t have enough power to knock him out and Nate’s got a mean submission game and good boxing
Diaz had been training with andre ward for a long time. Ward said that even Nate gave him the work at times. He was genuinely peaking during that time and the prospect of fighting Conor in a fight he was meant to lose gave him this back against the wall mentality. You could see him get more dangerous as the fight went on. The second fight was nates best performance by a huge margin. But, it was also the size. Not only can he take the shots, fighting a bigger guy will tire you out faster. So, yeah, it was a tricky style matup and factors which led to the loss. I also think Nate during his prime was very underrated. If he had stayed around the sport, more people would've seen it. But he essentially wasted his best years.
