That’s pretty much how I edit but I do like editing everything in color before I decide to do black and white conversion. I’ve just found I usually like that outcome.
Your approach to editing makes complete sense. I’ve always approached it the long hard way, adjusting, adding bigger effects, readjusting….living in a tunnel of time waste and frustration. I think you just turned on a major lightbulb. Thanks!
Thanks soooo much! This makes my editing workflow so much easier. I’ve always edited the whole image first and then tried to do bigger edits like graduated and radial filters afterwards. Total game changer!
Thats actually such a great technique! I just came back from an Italy roadtrip and I will definately try it out on the images I shot there. Looking at the desired effects first, reminds me of the old film labs where the photographers would do all these nodes on the negatives. Great analogy with the apple btw!
Totally agree it’s the best tip. Doing it this has made my editing a lot better and now I have better understanding when it comes photo editing. Thank you!
I'm always struggling with my editing and after watching this I think it might be because I always leave my masks edits to the last... this is such a simple advice but that for many of us might be something we've completely overlooked. Thank you as always! ❣
Thank You - Brother - But This Was Sooo Convoluted, My Head Was Spinning Like The Exorcist - I Don’t SeeThe ECONOMY ... I JUST DONT see ... IT ...☮️❤️💪🏼🎨
Hi Roman. Many thanks for your videos. I’m new to editing, having only just acquired an XT-4. Your editing tips make a lot of sense. What editing software were you using on your iPad? Guessing it’s Ps or Lr. Cheers. PH.
Great workflow advice! Do you still use Lightroom mobile to edit Fuji RAW files? What do you think of using Adobe Raw instead? Appreciate your thoughts on this! Cheers
So I have slowly moved back to LR fully. Unfortunately after nearly a year wrestling with Capture One, it just has too many shortcomings for me that slow me down. You might get a slightly cleaner image but you pay for it elsewhere. I think Adobe is perfect.... unless you're commercial and need the cleanest possible images, then LR is just fine
@@snapsbyfox thank you so much for the extensive reply. Makes total sense and I might also move back to LR. Although I dislike the cloud connection on mobile version, it’s just great to have and visible on multiple portables. And keep Adobe for the bulk of images. Thanks Roman!
friend, your ipad also lowers the brightness intensity automatically if you have been editing and using brushes for a long time? on my iPad Pro this happens to me and I don't know if it's normal, it confuses me a lot because sometimes I don't realize it and I have a bad ending in my edition due to the false brightness
@@snapsbyfox A new workflow video would be cool. I'm interested. I think the adobe community has exploded lately, it's kinda hard to stay away. Especially with the cloud/mobile options and ipads. I'm still on capture one, but i'm not sure how long I"ll stay on there. I have been enjoying the fuji camera profile recipes but those end up as jpg from in camera. Maybe LRC works with FUJI raw just fine now? So many options! Looking forward to your video.
Appreciate the helpful tip. It boils down to what your scene is about, at the moment of exposure and during post processing. For me I tend to “see” it better after a “cool down “ period. Thank you!
For sure that makes sense, if I use the Fuji film simulations in RAW it gets done first. Not sure if you do this but I have stopped using the slider tools in RAW for sharpening, I would sooner use the Smart sharpen in photoshop or use the High pass filter. Seem to get a lot fewer worm artifacts.
Do you exclusively use Lightroom for iPad for editing? I am thinking of upgrading to the XT-4 but have heard of “artifacts” because of the x-trans sensor is this an issue for you?
I will be making a video on this soon. Short answer I am still stuck between the two and waiting for Cap1 to release ipad app and see if LR will allow me to access full classic catalogue on ipad… as for worms, no real issues for me
