Don't make the landscape photography mistake that I made when the conditions are as good as this. An epic morning of fog in the Lake District.

My vote is for a session on stacking for exposure and focus in LR. As well, sometimes landscape photography is like wildlife photography where we keep thinking we will find the animal "just over the next hill" rather than doing research, as you did, and hunkering down in one spot and waiting for things to develop. Thanks!

I really like to see the post processing of the exposure / focus stacking on the shot of the tree/lake/mountain @ 9:22. Thanks for the honest video Nigel ! Not everyone will admit there mistakes, but that's where we also learn a lot. ;)

Your cinematography got so good that I find myself watching these videos just for the relaxing effect. I do understand you have to setup the camera for every shot, even the ones where you are in the distance, all by yourself. You are doing an amazing job. I send these videos to my friends and my girlfriend just so they could look at the beautiful scenery. Just wanted to let you know that it pays off. :)

I want to learn to photostsack. I also believe woodland is my biggest struggle. Unless there is a waterfall or foreground, I find woodland hard to find composition. Fog is always amazing. I love watching you grow man as a photographer. Your videos are so uplifting.

What happened was completely understandable. The conditions were almost perfect for you, and you got excited. Your mind was focused on multiple amazing shots all at the same time, forgetting about how things can & will change from moment to moment. In other words, you got caught up in the moment. And to be honest, most of us would have done the same thing. But you still not only got some amazing shots, but you also were able to 'experience' them, and that's just as important. So don't be disappointed. Time has a way of sometimes repeating itself. BTW, that scene at about 7:44 (of the camera on the tripod out of focus in the foreground) for me is one of the shots I liked as well. Keep up the amazing work. We all appreciate it.

I really appreciate that you not only include the shots you don't think quite work, but highlight what specifically you think don't work compositionally about them. I struggle with composition and I find seeing the what-not-to-do immensely helpful. Thanks for all the great content!

It's so nice to see how much you enjoy your time in the field, whether you're getting the shots or not. The rich man is the one who is happy with his lot. And the wise man in you then learns from the experience. I'd like to see the focus and exposure stacking processing in LR. And Congrats on 250K Nigel.

Great video! I don't usually scramble to change locations....but I do oftentimes run around chasing compositions in a single location. It's not "slow down" relaxing, but getting into that flow state is still enjoyable. Like many others here, I'm definitely interested in seeing how that exposure+focus stacked image came to life in lightroom!

Hello Nigel, I completely understand your thinking pattern and how you feel about it! When I'm out in the morning (or another moment) trying to catch something that I thought would be there, but isn't, I also feel the need to move on and try to get a "better" image somewhere else - even if I didn't go to that other place before, which means I might not even have a "better" image in the end. At those moments I try to remember your advice and try to adapt to the circumstances. Thank you, Nigel, for another great video!

I learn a lot from your videos, especially if you talk about "failures" (which would be great shots for me) and why you prefer one composition over another. Also, the videos are just fun to watch: relaxing, inspiring. I wonder how you manage to take the drone footage and still focus on your photos.

It's like you're somehow reading my mind recently. Just yesterday I was out for longer than usual and was considering a second location. But then I remembered what happened last time I tried it so I stayed put for the entire afternoon. It's definitely more rewarding to stick with one idea for a session I think.
