i started playing 2k21 on pro am i think 2 yrs ago...all the aids on. Heard about TGC Tours, moved up to pro swing and started turning aids off until i got to what the TGCT settngs were. Then i bumped up to Master swing and played until i was adequate...went to Q School and shot +25 for 4 rounds. Shockingly i got slotted in CC-L and have worked my way up...finished 2k21 in CC-F. So it can be done...just keep playing and working to get better at higher difficulties. And just like the real PGA Tour, some weeks you'll be lights out, some weeks you'll be average or below average.
Wow thanks for the info about that community, i play golf game since pga tour in 1991 on sega genesis and i still suck at it lol, i will take your advice and try master swing 3 click like old time, i know i will play bad but the good things like you said i will see my progression over time thanks to that community. Great content as always! However, I feel that with Beer League (the league I always play) going to Master with 3-click is a bit ... "too hard" isn't exactly the right phrasing, but it'll do. The Beer League is supposed to be less stressful and less competitive(i.e., more fun). Now, it is essentially the same as the main tour, except 3-click and a couple of other differences. I do not like the idea that Beer League is forcing me to 3-click and the main tour has settings that I doubt I will find enjoyable. I'll likely just find myself perpetually in Q-school, and eventually just give up and stop playing TGC Tours. I doubt that TGC Tours wants to lose players because they are not having fun in the main tours, but I fear that is what is going to happen. I'm trying not to sound too negative about this, but I 100% know I will not be playing Beer League and I'm not too sure I want to continually suffer playing the main tours. Keep up the great work. Love seeing your channel continue to grow. Now go get that 59!
Completely agree with Mark here, I don't think you will just be stuck in Q-School either. Give it a shot. If it is something that you find you are not having fun with than at least you gave an effort.
Thanks for putting this together. A couple of questions: What's your experience and what have you heard about people who have found ways to "cheat" either with modified controllers or some other means? Is that true and if so, what are some methods you've heard about? Hearing that has historically turned me off from playing tournaments and joining cultures. I asked because I'm looking at a tournament score-line of: 55, 56, 54 and 57. And for Master settings... that just seems questionable. But.... maybe there are people that are legit that good.
There are always people that will "game" the system. The API data tries to limit that, but it will always be there. I don't think it is as widespread as people think may think. Even with those types of people out there, the Tours is still fun to participate in.
I appreciate TGC is probably the best place to play but those settings are not how I want to play. Is there any alternative more equivalent to the previous Beer League ?
So in the beer league does a player still get promoted/demoted depending on their performance? I have a disability in my right hand,which makes it very awkward for me with swing. Thanks for everything you do for the golf community.
Pro level doesn't have a tour this year if you are on the swing stick. Everything is on master swing. Don't let it deter you though. Play your rounds on master and give the main tours a shot for a couple weeks. If you find yourself not having fun, then at least you gave it a shot. You don't have to play every week and can come and go as you please.
Qualifying will place you. Do really well, you could be put in Plat. Play middle of the road and you will be placed somewhere to CC. All the flights will get filled out depending on how people shoot.
Hey, I was playing a Ghost game today. It started fine. After a few holes I was -3. Then the game started making me putt for par while the screen show I was putting for birdie. Then I was on fairway putting for birdie. How do I fix this?
Ghost game? Not sure what that means, but you were likely playing in a society that had handicap scoring enabled. So depending on how good you are, it may give or take strokes on certain holes.
What??? No. Steady dose of PGA content every single week. Still more tutorials coming as well. I will just be sprinkling in more NBA and Madden videos instead of all PGA, all the time.
