For what it’s worth, my bass mute fits just fine (albeit snuggly) in my standard Marcus Bonna case. Definitely concur with everything mentioned here. Generally not a big practice mute practicer when at all possible but I couldn’t be happier with it!

Thanks for introducing me to these mutes! I am glad you mentioned there is also an alto model. I would love to see you do a brief alto demonstration someday. You mentioned the "stem plug". What is that, and what is its purpose?

Thanks for watching! Most practice mute’s have some type of internal stem that controls the amount of air passing out of the mute, thus controlling the resistance, response, feel, etc. in this case they are inserted into the mute after the body is 3-D printed but in other cases, for example the Sshhmute, it is integrated into the body molding…

I have such a mute for tenor trombone. I bought it based on this review. It is super, but also very fragile. Yesterday it fell out of my Bach LT42BOFG and landed on the floor and cracked in the joint on the widest part. I have tried to glue it together but the sound is not the same as before. How is it repaired?
