I have seven girlfriends from high school. We get together twice a year in different areas. One of us comes from Switzerland , one comes from Texas and the rest of us live in California. I retained no school friends and have always been a solo soul....I do enjoy the select friends I make as I walk through life but can't begin to imagine the joy of having even one that has shared multiple years of life by my side. I hired her as a summer student and we just connected, her wonderful family adopted me. Christmas, Easter, thanksgiving always was a great experience and meals filled with the best Ukrainian food. I love a good pumpkin bread. I've been making the same pumpkin bread recipe for almost 50 years. It's similar to this one but not exactly the same. I usually add walnuts, and about half the time, I add golden raisins or dried cranberries. I'll give this recipe a try.

This recipe is similar if not identical to a recipe I've used for years from an 80's Pillsbury cookbook I have. I LOVE pumpkin bread. I like to add a little ground clove and pecans or walnuts. Sometimes I'll add chocolate chips or dark chocolate chunks. When I was young my mother would make pumpkin bars with cream cheese frosting. Also delicious!

I use to bake pumpkin bread in coffee cans and also added pumpkin to chicken tortilla soup.
