There are many people, specially our students, who ask us what books we recommend on the Marseille Tarot. Today is a great day to answer this question.
The books we recommend in this video are:
In English language:
-Tarology, by Enrique Enriquez. Eye Corner Press. 2011.
- Marseille Tarot. Towards the art of reading, by Camelia Elias. Eye Corner Press. 2015
- Reading the Marseille Tarot, by Jean-Michel David. Association for Tarot Studies Publishing. 2009.
- Untold Tarot, by Caitlin Matthews. Red Feather. 2018.
In Spanish language:
- The Castle of Crossed Destinies, by Italo Calvino. Siruela Editions. 1973.
- The Tarot: the answer of the future, by Tchalai Unger. Obelisk Editorial. 1991.
- The Marseille Tarot, by Yoav Ben Dov. Obelisk Editorial. 2018.
- Jung and the Tarot, by Sallie Nichols. Editorial Kairos. 2018.
- The Way of the Tarot, by Alejandro Jodorowsky and Marianne Costa. Siruela Editions. 2004.
- History of Tarot, by Isabel Nadolny. Obelisk Editorial. 2020.
In French language:
- Le Pelerinage des Bateleurs, by Jean Claude Flornoy. Editions letarot.com. 2007.
Now, as we indicated in the video. No book is going to really teach you how to read the Tarot. If you want to learn, you need a teacher. Just like when you learn to read or learn to add numbers.
If you want to read the cards like we do, without fixed meanings nor keywords!, you have more information in our website ► 78puertas.com/cursos-de-tarot...

Excellent video! 🥰 The Castle of Crossed Destinies was my introduction to Calvino’s works. Elias’ writings are always interesting. And I, too tracked down books in the bibliography. 😂❤😂 I haven’t read as much of Ben-Dov as I’d like. But I can highly recommend him from the bit I have. I absolutely LOVE Untold Tarot. And it’s easy to find, so I feel good recommending it to students. My copy has a ton of bookmarks inside too. 😄 Jodorowsky in general is a wild trip down the rabbithole, and I am here for it! 🐇 I will track this one down and read for sure. Thank you for the recommendation.

Thank you for this expansive book review and for sharing available PDFs. Also thank you for your generosity in sharing so much knowledge with us and in such a thoughtful way. Your love and passion for the TdM is palpable and a bit contagious. I hope to enroll in your classes someday. Are there any interviews of you done by other Tarot Tubers? All best, Deb

Hello, Deb. That's very kind of you. Thank you so, so much! It will be great to guide and accompany you in our tarot courses. As you well say, it's my passion! And no, there are no interviews on RU-vid. Greetings from Spain

I have the Castle of Crossed Destinies in a smaller version in English. That second book is OOP and only in Spanish, but thank you, I did find the English PDF and I'll check it out. I wasn't a fan of Ben Dov's book at all. My favorite books are all by Camelia Elias, and while she recommends Tarology by EE, it was again a book of which I wasn't fond because I just couldn't understand him so I moved it on. Like Camelia, I use a mix of open reading and fixed meanings, so she just resonates well with me and I also use her correspondences. My other favorite, though I don't agree with all of her correspondences, is The Untold Tarot. I've never read Jodorowsky's book, but I know Ben Dov's was based on it and I have no interest in it at this time. Because I've developed my own style through experience and taking Camelia's TdM courses, I don't resonate with a lot of books. Great video though, definitely recommending all of the classics plus one new to me! 🙏✨💜

Hello, Diane. Many thanks for watching the video and for your comment. Fortunately we live in the Golden Age of Tarot, and we have at our disposal many different styles and a great variety of resources, techniques, teachers and so on. Now we can choose, not as in years ago. Greetings from Spain 😀

@@78puertas I completely agree César! I also sometimes wish that when I started reading tarot there had been a RU-vid with so many resources available, but other times I'm glad it wasn't there at the start because it can also be overwhelming. My journey with tarot, and cartomancy, has been uniquely mine and very interesting because of how the information evolved for me over the decades. 📚
