My name is Paulo Leite, and music is a fundamental part of my life. I started buying music records when I was a kid, and never stopped.
On this episode of The Best Record Shops, I am visiting Wave Music, in beautiful Budapest, Hungary. Although small, this is a record shop with many strengths. They have an extensive collection of Hungarian Jazz and Contemporary Music (on new CD), as well as a good number of Hungarian Rock on used vinyl. Hard Rock, Punk, Jazz - everything Hungarian and Eastern European. Exotic pressings of classic titles are also available. Some amazing surprises here! I am sure you will find something you must have. I had a great time shopping for music there. The manager is super friendly.

The shop is located right behind the Szent István Bazilika (St. Stephen's Basilica). Very easy to find.
Why am I making these videos? Because I hate to see record shops die. Streaming is NOT music. Streaming is just background noise. Buy CDs. Buy vinyl. Buy whatever physical format you like. Buy music. Buy movies. Buy books. Our culture is our biggest asset. It's not free. There is no feeling like sitting down in order to enjoy a music record by your favourite Artist, holding it on your hand, appreciating its artwork, reading liner notes, putting the record on the player, and pressing the Play button.
