Take a shot of Brennivín every time Hrafna: - Eats lamb - Spills her drink - Drops her food - Takes a shot of Brennivín I love that you keep it real and include the clumsy moments in your videos:) Very relatable lol
The biggest problem I had eating when in Iceland was the prices. The food there is _very_ expensive, so I couldn't really get the full experience. I actually went to Fjallkonan and got some fish and chips, which were kind of disappointing, to be honest. I also went to a restaurant called Salka Valka, which is downhill along the main road from Hallgrimskirkja, and got myself a dish of plokkfiskur. That was really delicious. If you are going to Iceland, definitely go with the intention of spending big on food. It is worth the experience. I tried to save a bit of money and it was just terribly depressing living off of snacks for a week lol.
What is the cost of an average 3 course meal in an average class restaurant in Iceland? I’m going next month and before we signed up we didn’t know that the food is very expensive. 😅
I didn’t have a problem you just have to research on the cheapest places to eat sure it’s still expensive but it wasn’t anything crazy just got to find the right places
This video made me soooo hungry but it is actually almost 11 o' clock at night in Greece! I should be sleeping not eating! Thank you for your wonderfully delicious recommendations!
What seems great about Reykjavik/Iceland is that there is actually culture and style there. Almost everywhere I’ve ever seen that is quite isolated like that is almost rural to the point of being country/simple in a way that makes it kinda boring if you are young or want to go to clubs etc. Anyway, very cool.
Decided to look up Icelandic folklore legends & your channel popped up. I will definitely continue watching your videos. I love learning new things about different countries 💙.
Awesome Video, food and drinks look really good, can’t wait to come and visit Iceland and try these Restaurants, thank you for making this, have a blessed day
OMG this video made me so hungry from watching all the delicious food you had with your mom and your friends lol! And the drinks look really exciting too, definitely gonna try some of those restaurants next time I'm in Iceland! :)
Happy to see your video again, I've been a subscriber for a while now. Not as hot there as it is here in north Carolina USA. Thanks for sharing your story with us that watch your channel. Outstanding job young lady. Well done.
I subscribed you because you are too Good with all your accent and you are really informative you have great knowledge regarding your own country and you know the taste of all people residing in Iceland and also few countries you roam till now.
This is a GREAT video. It was so cool to see these foods. I'm in NYC which is a big foodie place, but I have to say the presentation in Iceland was very impressive. Now I really want to travel there!
I loved this video Hrafna! I’ve never been outside the US yet… I’ve grown up in CA my whole life, and I’ve always wanted to make Iceland the first place I visit ! Your videos do such a great job introducing us to all of the interesting culture, food, environment, etc. sending lots of good vibes your way :-)
Amazing food and so many choices!!! I would have to skip a meal before and after to handle this food volume : ) … and my favorite quote from your narrative is this, I absolutely love it: “This (the drink) is not good (for health), but a must if you want to feel like a Viking” It is the best!
We loved Tapas. The minke is the best thing I have ever eaten! Missed the others but will hit all next time. Next year! Only two weeks back home and I already miss Iceland. Something connected for me.
I will have to try and remember all these (or just recall the video) - Iceland is one place I would love to visit some day when all the craziness going on right now comes to an end.
To be honest since I moved to Scandinavia I got super interested in Nordic culture and what is so funny for me is that they consider themselves as "Reserved" but they are the most friendly extroverts ever :D
I was in Iceland from June 7th to the 17th 2021. I ate at Apotek sea trout on a Himalayan salt slab and it was Amazing. Reykjavik Kitchen, Fjarhusid Amazing lamb burgers and chops . It was all Really good. I am to try the restaurants you recommended on my next trip to Iceland. Dillion Whiskey bar was amazing 👏. 200 different Whiskeys and very friendly people. I was 8 of the 9 nights there.
Thank you for the information, you do your country a great credit and explain things very well, I hope to visit one day soon. Flights go from my home town in the UK 🇬🇧 😊 good luck with your channel
Omg all of that looks so good, fræbert 💕🇮🇸🇨🇦💕je elska þig 💕 more more more. Please do videos of tourist locations or even puffin shops to see what kinds of souvenirs are best and where to buy them. Takk Ruth vesturisleningur fra kanada sorry my spelling is probably wrong. Lol
So how many banks do you need to rob to afford a place like Apotek? How often do Icelandic people eat out during a month? is it like close to daily or more a festive thing when the pay check arrives or something in between? eating out while nice can get very expensive to.
As far as I experienced Icelanders don't eat out often at restaurants bc it's too expensive Also, my icelandic teacher told me it's even a thing to eat at Ikea on Christmas bc it's cheap 😅 Sure this is just what I came across and doesn't apply to everyone ☺️
@@vinslungur that sounds manageable i currently have $1100 to live on each month and that should cover rent, electricity, internet and food, so eating out is a no no.
Since 2008 I was every year for about 2 or 3 weeks in Iceland and the best Dessert in my life I had at the Salt Cafe in Egilsstaðir. Cause of Corona I wasnt there since 2 years and I miss Iceland really hard. Love the Country and the people - Wish I could speak the language and live there ❤️
Honestly really hope I can afford to travel to Iceland with my boyfriend 1 day food looks amazing the city is beautiful and I would love to just go on hikes and walks around the country 👌😀
I Went to iceland last month, I tried to eat icelandic food as much as possible, unfortunately not many places where available for that outside of the reikyavik... still I had a nice time!!!!
I was in Iceland some weeks ago and I missed these places but will try them the next time. I went to others like Ingólfsskáli (at Ölfus), Greifinn (at Akureyri) and Grillmarkaðurinn (at Reykjavík). I did see Sushi Bar but I had recently come from being a month in Japan and honestly was tired of so much sushi lol.
