Thanks for the review. The product definitely benefits from firm pressure during the application phase. It needs the pressure to remove the scratch, as your review pointed out. The compound has a working time of about 30 seconds, after that it will have broken down and become more of a normal polish. The abrasives are diminishing, so start off aggressive and then break down during use to become smaller and as such more like a polish. We recommend 30 seconds of firm (you can be very firm) rubbing and then 30 seconds of very light pressure rubbing to further refine the area. Sorry to see the first mark didn't come out, I assumed it was lack of pressure, but in the second hit it showed the scratch was deeper than it originally appeared. Also glad you did the panel wipe to show that the scratches really are removed and not filled.

AutoglymUK you guys are more than welcome! You make some awesome products and Thanks for the feedback and further clarification 👍🏻 I’m going to be doing a few more videos on some of your other products fairly soon so any other feedback would be greatly appreciated when I post them 👍🏻

Thanks, this is a great review. Someone decided to scratch my brand new Discovery 5 the other day, only picked it up last month. Thankfully the scratches can be filled by autoglym Super resin polish (so assume scratches are not as bad as first thought) as a short term fix but will buy some of this soon and hopefully get rid of them long term!! Thanks and you've a new subscriber. 👍

Stuart Mackenzie thanks for the kind words, glad the video helped you out! Once you have used the kit, be sure to use a wax or ceramic coat to seal in all your hard work and make it look awesome! I have some autoglym ceramic coat so will post a review video on it soon 👍🏻

I look forward to it. I've the Autoglym high definition wax already that used on my old car so will use that. Now just need a decent dry day in Inverness to get it done!!

Stuart Mackenzie yeah the autoglym wax is awesome stuff as well! I used to use it all the time before I discovered ceramic coatings 👍🏻. A dry day in Inverness must nearly be as rare as a dry day in Edinburgh where I stay 😂

Yeah it really is great stuff. Hopefully the scratches remove easily for you 👍🏻, supermarket car washes are usually pretty rough on paintwork

@@DaveRebuilds yes indeed I had 2008 Blue Bright Focus like yours before so was quite hard to see scratches as well I did not care about car that mutch. So car wash did the job but then bought 17 Superb dark blue that showed all the damage so now washing only with Kercher at home

@@ROASTEDREGIS best way to wash it is yourself👍🏻, pressure washer, 2 buckets and a super soft drying towel or blower 👍🏻

I could help with solving the 2 scratches mistery: the first scratch is a proper one, whereas the second that came off instantly, was a paint mark. I personally used it on all sorts of scratches, it does nothing…waisted 25 quid

Does this work in a piano black trims like in b pillars? And is it a permanent scratch remover or you need to reapply again after washing the car?
@DaveRebuilds
@DaveRebuilds 9 месяцев назад
Hi, in theory it may work on black plastics, i've used a similar product on black plastic before and it turned out great. yes, this is 100% an actual scratch remover, but always best to polish, then use an IPA (on paint) to remove any silicon fillers, and reapply more polish if there are scratches left over. another great compound to use is RUpes compounds, they have no fillers at all and give an amazing result :)

Hi, I see that you have tested various scratch removers. Now that you have used them for some time what one do you feel performs the best. I'm keen to remove some that all in one polishes etc do a reasonable job of hiding but obviously come back with time as the fillers or LSP wears of. Best wishes.

Hi, I really rate the turtle wax “one and done” graphene compound as it’s really effective and doesn’t contain fillers. I also do rate the autoglym scratch remover, I tried it several times after the video and it has worked 9 times out of 10. It really depends on how deep the scratch is as some just can’t be removed by a chemical and need sanded👍🏻

@@DaveRebuilds And do you think that Meguiar's ScratchX 2.0 207 ml will last permanently? Or will it disappear?
@DaveRebuilds
@DaveRebuilds 2 года назад
@@moonleter6637 it all just depends on how deep the scratch is dude, without seeing the scratch in person I can’t really tell. Can you feel the edge of the scratch with your fingernail? If so, it’s too deep for the 2.0 to be effective

What about a flat pad on that scratch? That didn’t come out?
@DaveRebuilds
@DaveRebuilds 3 года назад
PRO Streets yeah I think it would have benefitted from a slightly firmer pad for the scratch on the boot so it has a more even pressure across it👍🏻

@DaveRebuilds
@DaveRebuilds Год назад
It’s really not, it just depends on the depth of the scratch as I showed in the video, it removed nearly all the scratches but the deep ones it couldn’t. And yes, if the scratch is deep enough it will need painted, totally agree 👍🏻
