I've always thought a lot of these van lifers would really benefit from taking experience from boat lifers and the way they manage storage compartments and their use of space amongst other things and it's super interesting how she did that with her build 👍👍

I am overwhelmed. This is the most stylish and comfortable van I have ever seen. Indeed the very BEST. With solar panels, magnetic glasses, the shower is great, just like in a house. The colors and style are top and also that it doesn't seem chaotic and improvised at all by shelves and the boxes on it. You are a true multi-talent. My respect, lady 🎩👏🏻.

10 year vancamper here. California coast mostly. Mount a 4' diameter hula hoop above your hotwater heater output on the side of the van. Hang a shower curtain from it. Make a welded one foldable into quarters. They make small tankless waterheaters that run on propane you can mount inside rear doors inside a wooden insert. Bolt the wooden insert to the cut doorframe. Fit the insert to the waterheater. The insert can be thicker than the door. Use a foldable mat under the shower. You can just have it pull water from portable 5 gallon water jugs. The tankless waterheaters usually have a built in pump to suck water out of the jug. Plug in propane when showering. Put a filter on the line between jug and heater when filling at rivers/lakes. No need to waste space with indoor showers when there's truck stops, beach surfer showers, gyms, aquatic centers, and city pools to shower at. Wetrooms and watertanks are overkill and a waste of space unless you have a bus.

The more i watch van tour videos, the more confuse i get as to pick which is the best.. But i love all of them...

I'm (eventually building [fairly expensive]) framing a 30cm tall case across my entire van roof. Inside the case are vents for two maxair fans (or just smaller 6" homemade ones) and possibly, a DC powered air conditioner they make for vans/Busses/RV's now. Between the vents to the outside, are water/airtight cases for surfboard/Kayak, waterfoil storage. On top of the case is a 700 -800 plus watt solar array on a light tiltable deck. With plastic, sealed solar panels aluminium reinforced. Tiltable toward the sun's angle. But it cranks over by hand all the way to 185° forming an awning over the side doors. You can support it at 180° with poles forming another deck under (now on top) the panels. The panels can be cleaned from the ground. With another sealed array of plastic panels forming a deck over the van. But built into or adjacent to the lids of the surf gear storage between ducts. Increasing the wattage to a potential 1.5 - 2 kilowatts. Enough to recharge an electric vehicle parked at the beach for a few days, if you ever decide to install an electric, or hybrid engine.

I really appreciated your comments about how the electronics worked in the garage and the products you used for the bathroom. Very well videoed too. Especially when you added the torch light to explain the items under your bigger seat. Alot of videos don't do that and it makes it difficult to see what they're talking about. I nearly cried when I heard your accent. I miss this accent. I don't notice it at all when I speak but to hear it from someone else is heartbreaking for me because I live in Germany never hear English let alone that accent. Also, your van-build is brilliant not to say the least, but that's utterly understandable being South African. That's just how we are. ń Boer maak ń plan. Just bought a 2000 Ford Ram 2500 extended van with 90K miles on a DMV verified rebuilt engine. The engine is an absolute monster and I can’t wait to customize this baby into my dream camper van. This video was very inspiring and I’m sure I won’t need beer the luxury but still I’m very excited to make this my own.

This kind of drive is second to none! While there are those that waste their time needing to be in others personal business.....there are those that are driven from within to *actively live their personal lives (via their *own business) without remorse. Building a van during the winter.....outside..... can only be propelled by a certain type of vision and drive.

So this is the first van I’ve seen with everything on my checklist. I’m also heavily inspired by sailboats and ships and wanted floor storage and you’ve shown a realistic way to do it! Thank you for all the tips!

This a gorgeous build. But I can't figure out the layout bc of all the close-ups.All i see are delightful vignettes. How is all this fitting in? It's an intense build out. How much weight was added to the van and how is the gas mileage impacted.? The cost? The sale price? Now she's selling it after 6 months? She'll find a unique high end buyer and make a profit I'm sure but I wonder if there is a warning here about uber-conversions.

Love your van. This van is very well and humanely designed. You have ideally utilised every inch of space. A good size kitchen, şhower, and toilet, yet it is not cluttered.

You put my feelings into words about being okay with putting your heart and soul into something and then being okay with the fact that it's not going to be yours forever. That can be said about raising children, teaching children, building a business. I've done all those things and I had to sell my dance studio when the pandemic hit. I returned to teaching math and that is definitely something you put your heart and soul into if you're meant to do it.

Great idea for shower coating. Saves weight, too. Tile, grout, etc.
