Well, I recently got the RX 550 in my workstation. It is one of the cheapest GPUs that are officially supported for Windows 11 and can handle 3 screens at 4k resolution. For 50 euros this GPU was a real bargain. You can't really game with it, but as a display output it is really a magical GPU for this price.

The RX550 has 512 cores while RX 570 is 2048. So its literally one quarter of an RX570... No wonder it's slow

The stuttering in CS2 isn't the GPU, but Valve shifting all competent devs to Deadlock instead.

Soyo used to be a good, popular motherboard manufacturer - back when we had way more manufacturers like Aopen, Chaintech, DFI etc. Soyo ceased trading and hasn't existed since2009, so anything using the name Soyo is already a scam. Soyo hasn't existed as an Electronics manufacturer for 15+ years!

This video could have helped me a lot in 2019 when I got a RX550 for my desktop.Fortunately I played only dota 2 so it was just bearable enough for my use case😅

Honestly, the 470 was the best one. With the exception of PubG, it's 1% lows were better across the board by nearly 2x and max FPS wise it was within a few frames of that cut down 580 for 30-40 dollars cheaper. Not that I'd personally recommend any of this stuff. I'm sure you could find something newer and more powerful for $100 bucks used. All these are 7-8 years old and are going to stop being supported with driver updates sooner rather than later. You can save up like 25/35 dollars extra and get a used 2060 on Ebay these days. Probably less if you have a local market.

I bought a graphics card from a brand called Aisurix (RX 5500XT, 8GB) which only costs around 110USD. It exploded after a month of use, and I fought the seller about the warranty. In the end, they sent me a replacement, but for some reason, just 1 week after they sent that one, another one arrived lol The replacements are still doing great right now after almost a year of usage.

Should be noted that almost all RX cards sold now are used mining cards rebadged and resold as new. Not that there's really anything wrong with that given the price and how well they do perform just some food for thought.

You can get 30 fps in solitaire with that beast.

I just hit 3:26 and I already know the testing is flawed. 16 gigs just isn't enough for the sheer superhuman power of the RX550 limp edition. You need a minimum of 64 gigs, anything less is insulting the poor video card.

I stil lhave GTX 1660S ,runing like a dream, playing all new games just fine still , and I think it is still in range about 100$ if I am not wrong For a budget think it is still fine

I always imagine all the sadness, people and i guess children have when they think they buy a nice cheap GPU to finally start playing PC games, just to get crushed by the awful performance. You are better of with something used. What an awful experience. I just built a PC out of Parts i still had around or do not use anymore because i have faster Hardware in my main PC. BQ Base 500 250GB SSD ( A bit low on space but hey, there are 2 free M.2 Slots.) Z370 Asus Board with 16GB DDR4 2400Mhz i7 8700 non K cooled with Assassin Spirit 120 V2 GTX 1070 (Even ~30% faster than RX 580 8GB) BQ 680W PSU 3x 140mm Case Fans I still would consieder this a fine machine for 1080p. Depending on what you game. But most of my Friends are still on their GTX 1070s, 2070, RX580 or GTX 1660S. And they play almost anything with it. Depends on you. I plan to sell it for around 300 Euros as a whole with Windows. Look and Ask around. Grab old Hardware. Do not go to Ali Express and buy cheap new Cards that suck hard.

The RX 550 is pretty similar in performance to the Vega 7, the integrated graphics that comes with CPUs like the Ryzen 5 5600g. This type of GPU is probably meant for really old office computers you want to keep using since it doesn't need to be plugged to the PSU

The manufacturers at SOYO must have brushed their teeth with thermal paste and put the toothpaste on the RX 470 the morning your card was built. 70C at 90W is wild

Keep in mind the chinese RX580 is really an RX570. Though the difference between 570 to 580 isn't that much.

Isn''t the biggest difference between RX 550 and RX 470 the fact that one needs power from the PSU (6 or 8 pin, not sure), and one just sips from the slot? That would make the RX550 the type of card you would put in an old office (Dell/HP/Whatever) machine to repurpose it for, you know, toddlers and stuff.

I got my younger brother a 4gb Rx 560 just because it was the best thing that would fit his computer that i could afford at the time, and it's a pretty good lil card, plays all the games he likes, so he's happy with it. I'm thinking of getting him a 1650 next as a decent ish upgrade without external power :)

A few brands were instantly avoided back in the early 2000's, PC-Chips, Soyo, ECS, FIC and Shuttle because they almost never used anything but those other garbage brands. On a side note you've shown that it's decent for light duty gaming and would crush it for emulation so it could be a very usable card for a lot of folks.

The reviews and sales numbers for the RX 550 come from the time of the GPU shortage

I actually bought a very similar gpu to this, its an rx 550 as well, the same cooler design but is from aisurix (a not known brand), as you can guess, it didnt work, i dont know if its a motherboard incompatibility or not enough power but computer doesnt boot if its connected. I returned it, bought an asus gt 1030 as its the only available budget gpu, and it worked. For anyone curious: Motherboard is a OEM samsung h61s1 (which has a VERY old bios version from 2011 and is a legacy boot) PSU is OEM as well, its a samsung 350watt CPU is an i5-2400 Might be motherboard incompatibility as i heard that radeon gpu dont like legacy bios. Or highly likely Power supply since it doesnt even POST.

I run an RX 580 until July 2023. The card is still running in a family member's PC. They don't really game so they have a great card for their "graphics" programs. Things I do not understand at all. Maybe Photoshop runs as well with onboard as it does a 580? I will never find out personally.

I've got one of these. I develop my indie game on it - Vulkan support and all.

There are videos of people benchmarking rx 550 and 560's (768 shaders) to the gtx 750ti which outperformed them . There is rx560 with 1024 shaders ,not sure how it will stack against a 750ti so there's that .

I gotta give that RX550 credit as a video output, though. I bought it a few years back (also on AliExpress) because I was playing around with virtualization and needed to have two GPUs in my PC with one ideally drawing as little power as possible ant taking up as little space as possible while providing good desktop Linux experience. For that it delivered just fine. It has (or at least mine has) probably the best IO of these cheepo GPUs, it has and HDMI and a DP. But for everything else, it's horrid.

I have a RX550 in my server just in case I ever need video out. I'd have bought a 710 but they were sold out on amazon at the time. That's the only reason I can even think to even look at it.

Here in brazil the only viable option is that card, because of absurd taxes in others GPUs

Funny thing is that the RX580 2048SP is a (scummy) rebadged RX570 which itself is an overclocked RX470.

Running an rx580 from release, don't feel a need to upgrade, can run all I want, even space marine 2, not high settings not anything super, but works good enough for me! I can't really afford anything new, and the performance is decent

What you didn't say was that rx550 is small form factor and don't need extra power connector, so if you want to upgrade an old small pc with the existing power supply - rx550 will be a great choice! I did it, so...

The RX 560 4GB or AMD WX 4100 is a better choice for those that don't need supplemental power with it's 1024 shader units.

I gave in to desperation, and bought a SOYO 5600XT back during the GPU crisis - "a bag o shit" wouldnt be bad enough to describe it; it thermally throttled in under 2 seconds; when I took the cooler off and cleaned up the paste - I found the GPU was CORRODED; yeah, a refuse rescued, grade Z GPU on a new motherboard. Polishing couldnt get rid of all the pitting, and even with Hydronaught paste and a custom, 3rd party cooler that cost as much as the card; I couldnt get it to get CLOSE to the expected performance levels. A refund was refused by the seller; and Ali Express somehow agreed with them, even though I sent photos of the corrosion on the GPU die; only the 3rd time in 10 years, I have lost a refund claim. Anyway, I wouldnt recommend SOYO to my worst enemy; over £350 down the drain, by the time you added the cost of the Grizzly paste and the aftermarket cooler.

Hah, I have a 4gb version of this paired with an i7 860 on a Linux machine. Pretty much only use it for older games with Proton. Although it can make for a decent LAN party machine at 720p.

I just bought the regular RX 580 for 68.38 CAD, granted it's only the 4gb version of the 580. but, hey. at least it's not the 2048SP.

Soyo is back? last time i saw them it was back when Intel Pentium III was the new hotiness thats like 1998/9 territory. I had a Soyo Slot motherboard with a socket 370 adapter in it, thats how long ago Soyo was a well known brand.

I don´t know why they still pushing low end graphic cards from 7 years ago with actual AAA games. Is a graphic card suitable for eSports games, not very demanding games, indies and old games. Even for emulators. Is a good card for old Pc´s with a basic Psu but that´s all.

You should test Fortnite on DX11 Performance mod you would have gotten 2-5x the fps DX11 normal and DX12 is surprisingly demanding these days since the move to UE5
