I wish I had seen your video when you first made it. It's now three years later and I see the phone is still around for the price you paid on amazon prime. Your personal way of speaking and sincerity shines through. Thank you for sharing your information as a retiree I was glad to watch an enthusiastic and satisfied customer. Please keep sharing.
Im a senior and want to say thank you! I'm trying to decide what iphone to purchase and your video helped me decide. I agree with your assessment completely!
This video is so great! I sure wish you'd do one on the Moto Ace 5G you bought after this, or on whatever you recommend these days! Please? I have folks in my life who are over 80 and won't use things that are too computer-like, but I'd like them to have a mobile phone for safety.
Motorola has been making phones for decades and they're very dependable. I just looked for a good value and found an open box at Best buy for $215. Thanks for watching and commenting
Thanks, I actually had one of the original smartphones in 2003, 4 years before the iPhone came out. Having said that, I like simplicity and value, I am not a "techie". In fact, I believe that nothing works on the internet and the simpler the better...like paper and pen! I liked old fashioned land lines...and telephone books instead of a Google search!
@@RichardSites thank you for all of the information on the Motorola cell phone. I found the one I wanted on the Motorola website and then I bought it from Amazon. I purchased the Moto stylus 5G and it was a 2021. I bought it at Thanksgiving last year and I am very happy with it. Total price was $200. I'm not sure I would recommend it for someone who wasn't cell phone savvy, but if you had an Android Samsung in the past you will find this a very good phone. Beautiful pictures, lots of memory. Thanks Richard
They burn thru the batteries quickly because we're using them for everything else besides a phone. If you have a tablet, how fast does it use up the battery? If you want the phone's battery to last, shut off wifi and mobile data.
Since my first Nokia, I have remained Android and my husband took the iPhone path. We have spent an absolutely ridiculous amount of money on Apple products. The visits to the store are good...if you are buying something. If not, well it is not as pleasant. My elder dad needs a phone like a heavy-duty flip phone or a phone that can be put in an OtterBox. The only Apple product I ever appreciated was the Apple IIc, my first PC. What do you think about the TT750?
Don't know that phone but I have owned 2 iphones and didn't like either one. Got a Motorola, another Motorola 5G now. $215 open box at Best Buy. I'm retired and not going back to work so I can own a $1,000 phone.
It is a Motorola X4, or a Moto X4. It was mentioned in the first minute or so. It sounds like a really good phone. Some prefer the Apple platform and some like the Android platform.
is there a particular generation? I watched the whole video because I am interested. I googled the Moto X4 and the phones specs on several sites didn't line up with what you said at all?
Thank you was thinking of getting new phone was frustrated when I just saw a $900 phone used! 😮 I'm retired and don't want bloat ware either your video helped me
Excellent info, looking to shift to new phone and plan, never an IPhone user, too expensive for me. Need basics and low cost, does your recommendation remain the same late 2021? Thanks so much!
Actually, we just upgraded. We use Consumer Cellular, which rides on ATT towers, and they are upgrading them to 5G which started causing us trouble. We bought 2 Motorola One 5G Ace models for $299 and an open box for $215. Thanks for watching.
Sorry, no I’m still using this phone. I have found great sales on Consumer Cellular (my carrier for many years) and on Motorola’s website. When the iPhone 6 was only 1generation old, I bought one from CC for $250 and at the same time a friend bought one from ATT for $650. Thanks for the comment.
Hi! I’m searching for an easy smartphone for my elderly mom who loves to take pictures and go on Facebook but cannot figure out iPhones or Androids. I really enjoyed your video. Since it’s been 3 years since you made it, have you upgraded to another phone? If so, what do you use now? Your review was amazing and so informative! Thank you!
I actually bought another Motorola phone, a 5G Ace. Found an open box at Best Buy for $215 and it is a 5G phone, which is where the technology is heading.
I am a senior who just uses a chromebook and a flip phone. For many years I have done banking, investing, shopping, and watched videos. What I face now is the problem of submitting documents online in this pandemic for unemployment. Of course we can no longer go in person. The chromebook's camera is fine for online chat at a distance, but no good for close shots of documents. Of course, I never needed or wanted a scanner or printer. On the rare occasions that I did need that, I would use the library or senior centers for assistance. Should I just buy a better camera that will attach to the chromebook ? The big obstacle is that if I take a picture with a moto, I have no idea how to get that photo from the moto phone into my chromebook files so I can upload it onto a website. Thanks in advance. Subbed.
The moto camera is fine for taking pictures but it is not the best one out there. The front facing one, for selfies, is the better camera. My opinion would be any phone running android will have Google Photos and Google Drive on it. These programs will automatically sync between the phone and the Chromebook assuming you have a Google account, so...any Android phone will work. Now, there are PDF apps out there that will turn any doc into a PDF. My son has one on his phone. So, take a picture with your phone and it is now on both devices. Install one of the PDF conversion apps, put the documents into Google Drive and they will automatically be on both, or all, devices. Might sound complicated but it's not and, trust me, I'm 68 and like simple. Anyone at the senior center or library research desk (or any kid) will be able to walk you through this in 2 mins. Hope this helps and thanks for the sub!
Thanks for the review! Do you know if this phone is unlocked? I am thinking about getting this phone for my mother who lives in Taiwan. By the way, is it able to install Facebook Messenger on the phone?
I'm 72 and have NO USE for 99.9% of the apps aka bloatware nor the ability to take even the shitiest of photo's. I'd much prefer to have considerably larger speaker's than the ability to take photo's. Based on my age and all my friends are though some are a few years younger, can attest to the fact that old people have issues with being hard of hearing.
Thank you for this information. I have a very old flip phone and want a new one. I don't really want a smart phone, but this one sounds good. Is there a way to keep it from being tracked/traced? Thank you.
There is only one phone I know of that does not allow you to be tracked, costs about $750. It is the Purism Librem 5 and all contact with the outside world can be turned off with the push of a button. I think this is Snowden's phone choice. Thanks for watching.
Mr. Sites: I’m 73, looking for a new phone. The phone you are talking about seems to fit my bill. I was wondering if you still believe this phone is a good fit for someone like me...Thank you in advance. Francis Oglesby
Unfortunately, I believe all the carriers are moving to 5G. Motorola makes one called a 5G Ace that I picked up at Best buy in an open box for $215. Seems like a really great deal to me. Thanks for watching and checking in
Thank you for this informative video. If I record a piano piece can I easily send it to my apple computer to send to my piano teacher? or can I send it straight from the phone?
Hard to say, depends how you record it and I am far from an expert. Also remember that Apple does not play well with anything other than Apple products. You could use Google Drive or simply record right from your Apple device. I would guess that the teacher nly needs the sound not the video. Thanks for watching and commenting.
It's just a phone...LOL, thanks for watching. For the price of an iPhone 12 Pro or Max, whatever it is called, you could buy a Lumix G7, this phone and an airline ticket to Big Sur to take pictures.
This is an older video, not sure the phone is still made...however, I bought a Moto Ace 5G, open box at Best Buy for $215. It is a large phone, good (enough) camera and maybe the best 5G deal around. Motorola has sales on their website. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Thank You for the information. Is this still your choice for a phone for 1/2021! I'm ready to buy a new phone now. What's your recommendation! I'm the kind if user like you. Don't game or tv. Just ebay, youtube, some pictures, text and calls. Want to start facetimeing. Thank You
You can only Facetime with an iPhone but Google and Messenger and What's App will handle video calls just like Facetime. You might take a look at the Jitterbug smartphone, it looks very simple and a good deal. And check out Consumer Cellular, rated #1 by JD Power for customer service for 9 years.
Sorry, but I really don't pay much attention to phones unless I'm actively in the market. However, having said that, I know that Apple products do not play well with other systems. I have owned two iPhones so I can tell you from personal experience. And I would say that under no circumstance should you pay more than $300 for a phone since there is no incremental increase in value. For the price of an expensive iPhone you could buy a really good 4k camera and have enough money left over to take a summer vacation.
Where are you buying your phones at, I bought at Wal-Mart, with in 24 hours went back, & told " you can not return cell phones at wal-mart". I boycot (phone sales) at Walmart now, & have bought on line, but would love to know where I can get good customer service, like a store?
Good customer service these days, that's funny. However, you can get American based, real human customer service and great values at Consumer Cellular. And they carry a wide array of phones. I have used them for about 10 years.
Motorola has been making phones for a very long time and they make high quality devices. You can also find very good prices on them, I bought an open box unit from Best buy for $200.
You can get a Samsung a14, a23, or a54. Those don't have any bloatware whatsoever. They also have what's called easy mode.... for those who like simplicity. These phones are on samsungs budget line. So, For $200 you can get the a14. For $300, the a23, and for $500, you can get the a54. The a23 and a54 get the better cameras. The a14, gets you 64GB memory and decent cameras.
does this phone have a back button- i own the moto e ..ver 10 and there is no back button and the volume is down or off when the phone is showing the volume is all the way up. this is the worst phone i have ever owned. this is not senor friendly
you may want to check into the jitterbug smartphone. I have seen one of these recently it has very large font and seems to be super simple. Thanks for watching.
have a moto6 poorest phone i have ever used. i am hard of hearing and struggle with hearing in a motor vehicle or slightest background noise. it has repeatedly put itself on do not disturb mode handicap operating mode. very dissatisfied with the phone
Ok. Thx fioe info. I don't use Google. For a little as possible. But I'm sure it's a lovely phone thank you for sharing this information. Are you DuckDuckGo for privacy. And Apple products for safety.
You must be kidding, it’s 2022 you can never talk to a real person. I don’t think this phone is being made anymore but the Motorola website has lots of choices.
Any of the less expensive Motorola phones are great alternatives to the high priced ones. Motorola has been making phone longer than any of the expensive manufacturers.
