Something I hate seeing people do is thinking they can decipher what a person they watch is thinking or doing based off a couple things they said. I wanna say I liked this tournament but the whole Proto/Light drama really just sours the whole thing in my mind. Almost everything that was handled as soon as that Grand Finals started just felt really unprofessional and off putting from the 1 sided celebration to complaining about a 3 minute bathroom break to Light once again really awkwardly trashtalking his Japanese opponent on Twitter when he loses for the 3rd time.

It is amazing the amount of hate a single character in a game can get, especially in Smash. I had an argument with someone once because I said a quarter/semi-final match between a Steve vs Olimar or something was way more fun for me to watch than the final match which was Pythra vs I think Fox. The guy basically just said "no you're wrong, Steve is the worst thing to ever happen to Smash" or something along those lines. I'm sorry I didn't know you knew what I like better than I do lol.

A lot of the summit discussion (at least from viewers) was on Steve. How far was Acola going, was Steve going to kill viewership, etc. Steve really is the heel of Smash. He doesn't hurt viewership right now because people WANT to see him lose. They want to see their heroes beat the bad guy. I think Steve players will hurt viewership if they get more prevalent in Top 8. A Steve in grands is a controversial and exciting thing. Two Steve in grands is boring as hell.

The main change that happened between last summit and this one and the prize pool being shrunk down is steve became too strong, the game fan base has fallen off, and its just not fun to watch anymore. Yes the voting changes played a major factor and probably way more than what I mentioned but still I stand by what I said. Ultimate is boring now. Melee is way more hype.
