Brother Gabriel, you do not know the extent to which our Lord Jesus is using you to touch souls. I am a 22 year old confirmed Catholic from Nigeria, but no sermon from any priest I've heard touches my soul, warns me and reassures me on the hope of my salvation than the words of Jesus through Our Mother Mary that come out from your lips in your videos. My seemingly endless cycle of lukewarmness and sinful habits are always turned around when I watch your videos. I hold back tears at the realization of my lack of effort to escape sin when I watch your talks. Thank you for allowing yourself to be used by Our Blessed Virgin Mary. Through Her intercession I will meet you face to face in heaven.
My brother. God has truly blessed you. If he has used me to help you then it is a blessing, because you and me are running the same race. I have no doubt that we will be good friends in heaven. We are both children of Mary and one with Jesus. All of the children of Mary will meet and rejoice in heaven. God bless you my friend. Our Lady of Lourdes, pray for us!
I bought In Sinu Jesu last summer, my priest took my copy and I bought 4 more, one for me, two for seminarians and one more for my priest to give away! It really impacted my priest and even began to quote from it in daily Mass! As a scrupulous soul I have to be careful of what I read which makes buying books hard! I have a few on your list and then a whole lot more. Thank you for these videos! I wish my husband and I could find friends like you in our parish! You are like a spiritual warrior that really encourages us to fight for yet another day!
Thank you for sharing that great testimony about In Sinu Jesu. Thank you for buying those books for your priest and seminarians. You have impacted their lives and countless others through them. God bless you!
This was great, I have been researching "plan spiritual retreat" for a while now, and I think this has helped. You ever tried - Banulian Lonameron Breakthrough - (do a search on google ) ? Ive heard some awesome things about it and my cousin got cool results with it.
Introduction to the Devout Life by St Francis de Sales. My conversion from Atheist to Roman Catholic was caused by the Holy Spirit, Intercessory Prayer, and my own reading of 3 books: The Bible, Lives of the Saints, and Introduction to the Devout Life.

Here are my best spiritual books: 1: Diary of St Faustina 2:Champions of the Rosary 3: True Devotion to Mary 4: Consoling the Heart of Jesus 5: Immitation of Christ (and everything that has "Tan Classics" or written by Fr Michael Gaitley MIC and Fr Donald Calloway MIC)
Thank you for the video. It's Colton, I met you over my Christmas break at St. Theresa's and you gave me the scapular at First Friday. So happy you posted a video especially on spiritual reading. Cardinal Sarah's The Power of Silence is a very powerful and profound book. I personally enjoy spiritual autobiographies such as St. Augustine's Confessions and Blessed Cardinal Newman's Apologia Pro Sua Vita. Also anything by Fulton Sheen!!
COLTON! Whats up! Of course I remember you! I have heard GREAT things about Cardinal Sarah's book. I must read it. I love FULTON SHEEN. I will need to pick up Cardinal Newman as well. Thank you so much for the suggestions. I hope to see you around.
I agree, Cardinal Sarah’s book is amazing!! I just bought Dominus Est by Athanasius Schneider, suppose to be a really good reflection on the Eucharist and its reception!
Thank so much, Gabriel. One of the reasons many Catholics are lukewarm or even cold is because they never read spiritual books written by other Catholics, starting with the Catholic catechism, Catholic prayers books and Catholic Bible. I read and I am very inspired this way. I highly recommend reading.
Gabriel, if you loved "In Sinu Jesu" you would love "He and I", in private revelation Jesus speaks about His tender and merciful love just like in "In Sinu Jesu". It has completely pierced open my heart as He leads us towards "at-onement" (as He says) with Him and complete abandonment to His merciful love.
Sir , ever since I started listening and watching your videos . My love for blessed virgin Mary ❤️ and the desire to pray the rosary has increased surprisingly, Also read Marian books. Thank you 🙏 for allowing GOD to use you change me, I would recommend a book called what you should know about Mary ❤️ it's nice once thanks 🙏🙏
Sir! I must say that you are a living saint! I am so amazed and excited that I got most of these books in pdf from the description since I do not have the means to make online purchases. I am currently reading Imitation of Christ and the Glories of Mary from the lists in the video. True Devotion and the Secret of the Rosary I have read and I always desire to go read again once a while. I realise that I must become a saint!!! I cannot be reading these books and not be transformed by it. More will be expected of me by Our Lord! I have gathered many great spiritual books which I read one by one. Preparation for Death by St. Alphonsus Liguori is also one that changed my life!! Of course there are always many others. God bless you so much. I watch all your content as much as I can and share far and wide. It is changing lives I tell you!!! God bless you again!
Uniformity with God’s Will by St Alphonsus Ligouri is my favorite. It’s only 30 pages, but it really changed the way approach life. I read it multiple times a year.
I am reading and loving the Life of the Blessed Virgin Mary by blessed Anne Catherine Emmerich. It us wonderful to see how God planned everything and He made His children participate in His plans... when He could have easily done everything Himself. But He shows His love in making us part of it
Deer Bro, I have watched all your video, listening this about mother mary, I become more spiritual and loving jesus more and more. Thanks for your video about holy mass, eucharistic, lost catholic treasure. Wow amazing..
I am reading True Devotion to the Blessed Mary now. I also get a lot of movement in my soul by the book Divine Intimacy by Fr. Gabriel of St Mary Magdalen. Thanks.
Thank you for this Gabi! I will try and buy In Sinu Jesu as soon as possible. Your videos are such a blessing. My husband and I have been enrolled into the Brown Scapular and have started praying 4 Rosaries everyday thanks to your encouragement. We have been graced with so many blessings ever since. My husband even started a rosary club in his school where he prays the Rosary daily with his students. One of his students wants to become a priest and the Rosary club is doing wonders for his soul. God bless you Gabi!
Your videos are nutritious meals to my soul that I eat up hungrily! I am going to read In Sinu Jesu! Thank you for your work, you got me to say the rosary, and Mary has taken over my life!
GabiAfterHours Of course I will pray for you! I remember all of the people and apostolates that have helped me in my rosaries! I bought In Sinu Jesu on my kindle when I saw that snippet of the book in your video on Mary! God Bless!
Not got much time these days since I try to do as much divine office as poss (not much) and have started to read the Bible in a year following Dr Taylor Marshall's scheme. I've been reading Ven. Fulton Sheen's excellent "Life of Christ" for nearly a year now!!!😱 and before that a biography on Cardinal Newman. I used to read a lot of spiritual books years ago, especially on St Francis. The Imitation of Christ had a big impression on me. I'm really enjoying reading children's lives of the saints (the Ignatius Press ones) to my children though. We love the Curé d'Ars! Thanks for your fab vids! God bless.
The Bible is a year. I need to try that. I do listen to the Taylor Marshall podcast from time to time. The Life of St. John Vianney is one of the first lives of the Saints books I have ever read. Made a big impression on me.
The same week I saw this video someone told me about this book, when I bought this book (last week) the book seller told me they just sold 3 copies that day! And that he was in Houston talking to a youth minister director and the director had a copy on his desk, then after buying it on the way home listening to catholic radio the host on a show talked about the same book! It must be the book! I am reading it now... and I just endorsed it at my Legion of Mary meeting.
My favourite book is The Life of Mary as seen by Mystics compiled by Raphael Brown. You will fall in love with Mary as you read this. Thank you for posting the video!
I just finished reading the Forty Dreams of St John Bosco and I got this one to read next. Thanks so much for sharing it and enlightening us more on the benefits of spiritual reading. May God continue to bless you and your crew
The "Love of Eternal Wisdom" by St.Monfort is the best book, as it help us understand what is Wisdom and why we need Wisdom first and foermost in our christian journey. The reading of this lead me to St.Liguori and St.Kolbe and what I discovered is a goldmine for me. The phrase of St.Liguori's pointing to Mary as the "another Advocate" intrigued me a lot and lead me to a lot of readings and prayers and rosary meditation using the Luminous Mystery, I arrived at the realizatio just as Jesus is called "CHRIST", Mary is called "Wisdom". Jesus received the Holy Spirit Anointing to fulfill His Mission as Christ and Mary received the Spirit of "Created Wisdom" (Proverbs8:22) as Her Anointing merited by Her thru embracing and enduring Her Seven Sorrows. The Seven is the Seven Columns that House the Sevenfold Gifts of the Holy Spirit. All the Apostles & Disciples in the Upper Room received their share of "Anointing" but Mama Mary stood tall as She received Perfectly the "Sevenfold gifts or the Spirit of Created Wisdom" that enables Her to fulfill Her New Role as the Mother of all the Redeemed. This is the reason why Mama Mary knows fully the Divine Plan of Salvation, hears all our prayers (Billions of souls). The deeper mystery is, in the Upper Room who becomes the worthy person to become the "Spirit of Truth" that can testify in fullness who Jesus is? Mama Mary as St.Liguori reflected is the "another Advocate" and the "Spirit of Truth" (John14:16-17) also becomes the fitting role of Mama Mary as St.Kolbe teaches "quasi-incarnate" and St.Montfort reflection on Mama Mary as "Mediatrix of All Graces". The Created Wisdom in Proverbs8:22 describing a Lady Wisdom that will become as a Teacher, Consoler, Comforter, Advocate, etc is the role of Mama Mary as the Mother and Teacher of the Church that Jesus will established... a mystery revealed because of reading the book of St.Montfort "LOVE OF ETERNAL WISDOM. S&IHMMP4us.Amen
‘40 dreams of Saint John Bosco’ by TanBooks is AMAZING, it is extracts from the saint’s own diary, of dreams God sent him about the power of the Rosary/ devotion to Mary/ confession/ eucharist, etc ☺️☺️☺️☺️ St John Bosco had many charisms of the Holy Spirit but especially the charism of dreams,
"A Heart on Fire" ♥️ by James Kubicki Rediscovering Devotion to The Sacred Heart of Jesus. Gabriel, recalling how you spoke about "Signal Graces", I was at a nearby shrine, in Euclid, Ohio, which is a replica of "Our Lady of Lourdes". As I sat in front of the grotto, I suddenly had a powerful feeling to follow one of the sisters into the gift shop. As I approached, I felt the presence of Christ radiating from a statue of him nearby, with his Sacred Heart. I felt a clear, telepathic direction to look for a book in the gift shop. I knew I would know when I find the one and who I should send it to. An extraordinary sign that confirmed this book was so rare to be found in a religious book that I Knew, Without a Doubt, that Christ directed me to send this to someone very specific. I would like to thank you, Gabriel, for your videos because you really inspire me so much! God Bless You Even More...
Oh my.. perfectly timed video. I found the 'Imitation of Christ' for a few cents at a parish fete. Unreal. Fulton Sheen's 'Seven Last Words' definitely to be read during Lent, 'The Divine Romance' - Fulton Sheen. The Diary of St Faustina made me absolutely swoooooon over Our Lord.. Thanks Gabi.
Kerry! I love those books. Fulton Sheen's Seven Last Words is very good! I have not read the Divine Romance. The Diary of St. Faustina is a must read. God bless you!
Dear Gabriel, Your videos are very basic, authentic, and very very helpful. I started getting serious about my faith two years ago and somehow I bumped into one of your videos from the start. I went from one to the other and I always look forward to more. I don't think it was any accident .😊 I thank God for the gift of you. God bless you.
I'm reading Saint Frances by saint Bonaventure! Half way through. I have to read slowly and contemplate the writtings. This precious book is like reading scripture the text are so sacred..
I can’t thank you enough I was watching you and you were talking about doing more Rosaries so now I try to do four a day! I had told you about this free rosary I had received by mail from St Teresa many years ago. I have been praying to Our lady of Fatima! Don’t I get another FREE Rosary from a church from Quebec dedicated to Our lady of Fatima randomly. I was so happy that words can’t express!!!Another sign from Mother Mary I just had to share this with you again. God bless you for all your inspiration and teachings🥰 I am Mother Marys new army of the Rosary!
What a fabulous video! Great suggestions, thank you. The Steps of Humility St. Bernard of Clairvaux, Dr of the Church as well as his writings on Song of Solomon
You ministry has inspired me . About saying 20 decades of rosary everyday a lot is happening. I'm gonna start up a ministry here in Nigeria for the youth, the youth needs to come back to Christ, your ministry inspired me to start up the prayer cenacle of our lady of the end times that has been in my mind. I will like to use your style. Thanks a lot from Nigeria. Keep up the good work and bring more souls to Christ. Amen
Feels as if you haven't uploaded anything for a long time. And the present content is Phenomenal so timely that it's been hardly 3 days I'm into routine spiritual reading rather than reading them random or for a reference. Thanks Gabi
Hey Gabi🤗 Well my favorites are The Secret of the Holy Rosary which actually lead me to read a higher version True Devotion to Mary from recitation of the Holy Rosary to Consecration of myself to Jesus through Mary and I have decided to start off with The Life of St.Joseph as I pray to him asking for a righteous husband like him 😋. These are my favorite along with St.Faustina's diary which I actually listen to though it's been purchased.
Another excellent video! Great discussion about spiritual reading and suggestions. I can't wait to check out ISJ. Thanks for the tip off! Some favorites: Orthodoxy by G.K. Chesterton, also his bios of Saint Francis and Thomas Aquinas, The Confessions by St. Augustine, Mary: The Second Eve and Apologia Pro Vita Sua by John Henry Cardinal Newman, The Blessed Sacrament: The Center of Immutable Truth by Cardinal Manning, True Devotion To Mary and The Secret of the Rosary by Saint Louis de Montfort, Revelations of Divine Love by Julian of Norwich, The Soul of the Apostolate by Jean Baptiste Chautard, Cardinal Sarah's book on Silence, Uniformity With God's Will by Saint Alphonsus de Liguori, The Ways of Mental Prayer by Rt. Rev. Abbot Dom Vitalis Lehodey, O.C.R. I've also enjoyed some fiction by Catholic writers: Brideshead Revisited by Evelyn Waugh, Wise Blood by Flannery O'Connor, anything by Walker Percy, but especially Love In The Ruins and finally Fourth Mansions, Past Master and Archipelago by R.A. Lafferty.
Hi gabi, I love watching your videos.. especially this one. I have read a story of the Greek lady that was born in Australia and lived on a farm has seen the virgin Mary and helped her out to build a church on her farm and told her she will go through a rough time until this church is built. It's a really inspiring story I suggest you read it. I have her book with me if you want a copy I could send you one. God bless you
Great recommendations! “The Hidden Child of medjugorje” and “Scandalous Mercy” by Sister Emmanuel are also amazing. Father Gabriele Amorth (formerly chief excorcist at the Vatican) endorsed the BVM’s apparitions at Medjugorje and reading these two books helped me a lot in my spiritual life. I look forward to adding “In Sinu Jesu” to my reading list!
I find it odd that an exorcist would endorse Medjugorje. Also, everyone i know who got wrapped up in those "apparitions" have fallen away from the Church or were acussed of wrong doing....its made me wonder if it could be diabolical. You should listen to patrick coffin he has at least two shows on this subject.
Recently I read the books on the life of Marcel Van, just finished his Autobiography and will start soon to read "Conversations". Marcel is a Servant of God, was a Vietnamese Redemptorist brother and he followed the example of the life of Saint Therese of Lisieux, Jesus Christ. It's a very interesting story and gives us another way of becoming saints in our daily lives. Thanks you for your videos and book recommendations, I bought In Sinu Jesu hopefully I can start today!
Thank you so much for these great suggestions! I would like to add to your excellent list, a more contemporary book that inspired me very much: "Our Lady of Kibeho", by Immaculee Ilibagiza, a Rwandan author who survived the Rwandan genocide in 1994. In the aforementioned book, she tells the spellbinding story of Our Lady's apparitions (church approved) and messages in Rwanda, in the 1980's. Anyone who is interested in Our Lady's apparitions and messages to humanity, will definitely enjoy and be moved by this book. I have read it twice and will probably read it again. I couldn't put it down!!
+GabiAfterHours Thanks Gabi. If you haven't read this book yet, I highly recommend it. It is powerful. I have attended 3 retreats with Immaculee and they were amazing. She is sharing the story and messages of Our Lady of Kibeho with many souls.
Good job Gabriel for making this great video. I love Spiritual books and I will buy some of the books you have suggested in the video. God be praised. Amen
Thanks! Just finished Humility of Heart by Fr. Cajetan Mary Bergamo. Good explanation of Sacred Heart Devotion, which I had never been clear on (available through Kindle or TAN books).
Ave Maria!! Thank you for the video!! Will buy Sinu Jesu and share with our priests!! Among the many holy books which have had a lasting impact on my soul which you did not mention are The Friends of the Cross by St. Louis De Monfort The Power of Silence by Cardinal Sarah The 40 Dreams of St. John Bosco!!! Uniformity with God's Will by St. Alphonsus Ligouri The True Spouse of Jesus Christ by St. Alphonsus Ligouri Additionally I love love True Devotion to Mary, the Secret of the Rosary and the Story of a Soul by St. Therese. I frequently reread them. Mother help us to love and imitate you more and more!!
Though I have many of these books ....I am yet to complete most of them...Have decided to take reading seriously and ur videos are helping me a lot.....Esp to say 4 rosaries a day....Thanku for doing this..The End of the Present World and the Mysteries of the Future Life. by Father Charles Arminjon - Little Theres says in " The story of my soul" that reading this was one of the greatest graces of her life...
I´ve just recommended my teenager son to watch your videos and subscribe. I hope he connects with you because I think you are amazing and he needs some man guidance.
Katarzyna Kocor I definitely agree, if we want to have wisdom and understanding as we read along numerous spiritual books we need to help those poor souls pleading out loud in our converted heart....please please "GET US OUT OF HERE"... and if we happen to hear their voices and include them in our prayers esp. during Consecration at Holy Mass then undestanding those book will be a lot easier because those poor souls will help us received plenty of graces for our mission.Godbless
Gabe this video is just up my alley. I love spiritual reading and my library is quite comprehensive, I wish I could share a pic with you. Some books you might consider are The Knowledge of Mary, anything by the Ven Fulton Sheen like Life of Christ or The Cries of Jesus from the cross anthology, Jesus of Nazereth trilogy by one of the greatest modern theologians Benedict XVI, Brant Pitre writes some amazing books, the Imitation of Mary, The Eucharist: mystery of presence, Sacrifice and Communion (and other Feingold books), The Imitation of the Sacred Heart of Jesus....the list is truly endless!
Of all Spiritual books I have ever encountered, the one that stood out to me the most so far is "The Diary of St Maria Faustina" . The divine mercy diary.
1) "Padre Pio - Glimpse Into The Miraculous", by Pascal Cataneo; 2) "God, The Joy Of My Life - Saint Teresa of the Andes"; 3) "Letters Of Saint Teresa of Jesus of the Andes, Discalced Carmelite"; 4) "True Devotion To The Holy Spirit" by Luis M. Martinez.
@@margaritakleinman5701 Yes, me too. And, I'm blessed to share her birthday, July 13th! Her story is amazing. And, did you know that a girl in Chile that had drowned, and her family prayed for St. Teresa of the Andes' intercession, was present at the canonisation ceremony in Rome?
+Rui Duarte Andrade Adao Thanks for sharing that beautiful story, Rui. I will read more about her. I saw both a movie and a documentary about her, on a Spanish Catholic channel here in California. I was very moved and never forgot it.
@@margaritakleinman5701 It is definitely not something anyone could ever forget. And, here is another thing that you might not know about her, and that wasn't in the movie, because this happened after she died. There was a man, who was in prison, but who was not a believer. She appeared to him in his prison cell! He was to be put to death, but he repented before he died, and his soul was saved! I know that you must remember from the movie that she was reading "Story of a Soul" by St. Therese of Lisieux, because that's what inspired her to be a Discalced Carmelite nun. But do you know what inspired St. Therese of Lisieux? It was her reading of Thomas `a Kempis "Imitation of Christ".
+Rui Duarte Andrade Adao thanks for sharing this, Rui. I know she was inspired by St. Therese's famous book. The story about her appearing to the condemned man, is amazing. I remember reading that St. Therese also once prayed fervently for an unrepentant criminal who was about to be executed, and at the last moment he had a change of heart and repented. By the way, I just now found and read the complete story of the girl who drowned and was saved through St. Teresas de los Andes' intercession. What a beautiful story!
An absolute MUST read: "Fundamentals of Catholic Dogma" by Dr. Ludwig Ott, "Hidden Mountain, Secret Garden: A theological Contemplation on Prayer" by Dr. Anthony Lilles (seriously deep and has multiple quotes from heavy hitting Marian Saints). and finally "Theology of the Body in Simple Language" by St. Pope John Paul II. JPII will BLOW your mind away and make you completely appreciate the mystery of the family. No kidding, it's a domestic church. WOW.
I have read many of the books you have listed. I have been reading at the moment The Three Ages of the Interior Life by Réginald Marie Garrigou-Lagrange, wonderful book. I love Glories of Mary and True Devotion, great books! I recently got a copy of the Summa Theologica and I also very recently got 'The Antichrist' by doctor of the Church St. Robert Bellarmine. I agree that reading the Doctors of the Church and saints certainly a good method to follow. I could go on my brother in Christ... It is just finding the time amongst family duties, work, Holy Mass and prayer to do the spiritual reading as well! Ave Maria and keep up the great work!
AMEN! Great suggestions! I will need to check out the Antichrist. Thank you for your constant and long support. God bless you and Mary be always at your side.
An author who brought me back to Christ was Clarence Enzler. First, his "Way of the Cross" brought me to tears one Good Friday and then his "My Other Self" pushed me on. Truly graced.
I like the book "The Good News about Sex and Marriage" by Christopher West. It is a great review of the Theology of the Body and has practical stuff that was good for me.
One of my favorites is Father William Doyle written by Alfred O'Rahilly. It is a treasure of Spiritual Direction - par excellence! St. Teresa of Calcutta was influenced by this book (from her novitiate).
Thank you so much Gabi for these .The messages in ,In Sinu Jesu (can it be gotten online or shipped ?) , sound a lot like messages that Jesus dictated to a mystic from my country Kenya ,whose name was sister Anna Ali .She wrote diaries that have lately been published to books named the Divine appeal, they also have the Imprimatur .You may find some information on her on the Internet. The Power of silence by Robert Cardinal Sarah is pure gold.
I love all your videos Gabriel. Thank you for everything you do. You have inspired me in so many ways & taught me so much about sacramentals & the rosary. I notice you have such beautiful religious pictures in your office & statures. Can you share with us where you found them & what resources are out there for us to purchase these at affordable prices? I have taken your advice regarding purchasing sacramentals & rosaries. Thank you.
Thank you Gabi for once again inspiring us. I have a nephew that is in his first year as a seminarian. I would like to give this to him!! God Bless you and your family.
Poem of the Man-God (The Gospel As Revealed to Me) by Maria Valtorta shows the detailed life of Christ and His sermons. I read somewhere that Padre Pio supports these visions.
This is my favorite book too. Anyone reading it with a non judgemental mind will find it from god. No man can be that correct geographically and spiritualy.
@@robinramos8005 The Imitation of Christ The story of a soul The Victim-souls - Maria Valtorta Secret of the Rosary - read it after watching Gabi's video and loved it. To name a few ... I always wonder why people condemn "Poem of Man God" , It is such an amazing book. But I noticed that the people who condemn the book has never read it. I consider "Poem of Man God" is an amazing gift of God to man kind.
@@vu7904 Thanks for the titles. I agree with you on The Poem of the Man God. However, since it is a supernatural work, there will always be skeptics and non-believers. I think that grace is necessary in order to come to know and believe on the work.
Hello Mr. Gabe, i have a book that you should read. I recommend reading I believe in love by Fr. Jean C. D'Elbée and Fr. Donald Calloways Champions of the Rosary.
