I ordered the original, which I'm currently using and it is great. The replacement unit is on its way, but weirdly the tracking information says that it was sent from Canada to Dubai, then to Germany and now coming back to America xD. Hopefully it will arrive soon and complete.
The micro-sd card pockets are absolutely life-changing. I would love if I purchasing a skin with the case wasn't required though, applying that seems to be really hard for most people and I would rather not risk wasting $20.

The kickstand was not affecting the battery, it was affecting the fan. The Jsaux case is much better, and we hope that other manufacturers create their own variation.

I want this! Was already considering it before your review. I was worried about the dock not working but since they come with an adapter I might pull the trigger!
i got my Travelkit in the mail today. only thing i didnt like while putting it on was attempting too slip the armour over my Shoulder buttons got caught along the L1 & r1 Buttons ina uneasy manner. other than that it looks great Tho . on second thought it also feels like that bottom Front Travel cover thing grind's along my screen protector each time i slap it on. i got the digital camo skin, analog covers, and the Dock Adapter kit'. i love it tho all in all because once its on, its on, and will keep my Steam Deck Looking A1 in the Long run. i like the Luxury sticker kit they gave me with it too.
i replaced the teardown skin in my pre-order to the switchdeck skin... hope i can apply it right and i really hope i can get the case in february or earlier. :)

Another great video as alway! Loving the content, does the dock adapter come with the travel set? Looking on the site I cannot find it anywhere and that's a dealbreaker for my preorder.
My current silicone case doesn't fit in the dock... Might get this case just for that feature. Thanks! Wowsa, $86 (aparrently I don't get free shipping to Denmark) plus the inevitable $30 import fee... If they had a European warehouse, then maybe it'd be more reasonable.
Excellent review, and came out the day after I ordered my dbrand case! Keep up the great videos mate. Question - with the dbrand case and thumbstick covers on, when placing in the original steam carrying case, do you find the thumbsticks are easily pressed, from pressure on the outside of the steam case? (if that wording makes sense). Thank you!
Putting in my pre-order soon, is it worth going with the travel kit? I feel like the cover is gonna become a nuisance to place while gaming. Also, does taking the front cover on and off risk scratching the screen at all? I know too many questions.. sorry, thanks for the review! 😃
@Gabriel Ortiz yes I have had my case for over a month now. Over that time, I've taken it off and on numerous times and have had no issues with scratching the screen. Hands down the best case you can get for your steam deck!
@@gabez1321any chance if you tried placing the killswitch case with your steam deck into the original carrying case steam deck came with, does the joystick get compressed ?
Just curious. With the kill switch case on, when you place it back to the original steam deck carrying case, it seems that you had to compress it to fully close it. Am I right to say the killswitch elevated the joystick from the steam deck slightly and causing it to be compress everytime you pack it in ?
Hey man. So yeah it's not exactly advisable but it does squeeze in there. I found the joysticks don't compress when in the case but it is tight so may be different for other people. Id say its fine if you're taking it out and about every so often but I wouldn't store it like that long term just incase
I've been using it for week and for the price it's not worth it. Also the dock adapter didn't come with minei had to buy it separately. I was little annoyed considering how long I waited for the case. From every review i watched all The reviewers had a packaged together and then from normal consumers we have to buy it extra. Again it's a great case but it's not worth the price
I am saddened to be returning my deck, but the giant bezels around the screen bother me so much, I can’t get over it. That and I can’t justify it over my pre-existing pc.

With the deck in the base back cover and with the thumbstick grips on, when placed in the original steam deck case is it a bit tight for the thumb sticks? For instance if you press on the case in the thumbstick regions can you hear them press in and activate?
Is this any smaller than the steam deck case? It looks about the same size. My only issue with the deck is how much space it takes up in a backpack. This does not seem to solve that problem at all
I was tempted by exactly this but ended up going with the spigen case as I'm a fan of those anyway. I am tempted to still get a skin. I love the switch skin, it's proper cheeky lol may I ask if you'd still purchase this had it not been sent for free? 70 dollars or so is a lot considering the spigen case was £20
They did not recall all units, but they still delivered the ones ordered and just sent everyone who got one a warning to not use the kickstand. They also promised to provide a free replacement when it came out. I was one of them and I just got my free replacement today.
