The BEST Story Telling In Destiny?! | The Witch Queen Reaction 

Hey y'all! This isnt my normal style of intro so just in case youre new here I'm Terra and I'm getting up to date on the story of Destiny before the final shape expansion! Be chill and enjoy the video, and if you don't like and subscribe all your weapon rolls will be cursed. 😉

So, Savathun's Worm, wasn't just removed because she needed it to use the light. The worms, are these sorts of Parasites, that urge the Hive to kill. They feed off of this process. If the hive don't kill, the worms explode, or consume the hive host. So, the hive need to kill to survive. This, wasn't exactly ideal for her. It was also because, the Worms, are connected to the Worm Gods. And in turn, to the "Entity in THe Darkness". Savathun, here was splitting herself away from it, and alligning with the traveller. So she could plot independently.

Omg so many things happened during the recording that I forgot about being trapped in the box!! We were all in such a chaotic mood 😂 You did a great job capturing the first half of the day with this episode 🫶

For those who are old enough to remember, Fynch is voiced by Ian James Corlett. He played Bob in season 3-4 in Reboot and also Cheetor in Beast Wars/Machines. When I did the campaign I was like "Who the hell was that?" and after some quick search I was like "Ohhhhh Bob!" .

35:25 "Darkness remembers; Light forgets" is basically the theme of the entire Witch Queen expansion (even bleeding into the first couple seasons). Some lore released alongside the Witch Queen launch is a series of Ikora's memos and communications with Hidden agents trying to understand the fundamentals of Light and Darkness: It all means one thing. Darkness remembers. Light forgets. It is about memory. Memory and forgiveness. ... The psychometer lets us glimpse ancient memory, not because the Light cannot remember, but because it chooses to relieve us of memory's grief. The Glykon Volatus is infested with the residue of evil's touch because the Darkness is there, and the Darkness remembers the suffering aboard. Haunted, like the Nightmares on the Moon. ... *_This is why the Light wipes away memory. It strikes away the pain of the past to break the pattern. Aw this is only part 1, Im assuming you've already finished the whole thing. But I cant wait to see your reactions to some of the shit that happens later on when all the pieces start to click into place. Like you said Witch Queen has some fantastic writing, it both adds new mysteries and questions to the mix, but it also answers SO MANY questions we've had for years, and it manages to have like 3? Twists on what you probably expect to happen, but all of them work and make sense in context. And in a weird way it also simplifies so much, in a good way. As im sure you've seen by the end of the campaign theres still a bunch of questions and stuff leading up to the final shape, but whos and what side, and what the light and dark are and who all big players are are very clearly defined. Can't wait to see you get even further, the stage Witch Queen sets is great, and its one fun ramp all the way to final shape.

46:50 A bit late but the solution to that puzzle is the three symbols that disrupt the pattern the other columns shared two symbols are completely different to give you a starting point.

About the travelers reason for blessing savathun and her brood theres not really a reasoning behind it. As a quick explanation, while the pyramids/The hive use what is called Sword Logic (Social Darwinism, The strongest survive). The Traveler uses whats called Bomb Logic, which is much more complex, not rigid like the sword logic, kinda the opposite. The traveler looks for complex outcomes with several parts working together which is why the traveler can sometimes thrive on chaos. This bomb logic we use is the reason why we learned to ally with many we thought enemies. Savathuns resurrection is a chaotic move but this makes it possible for other outcomes that seem complicated, even if she is a villain in our eyes. This logic is not as simple as the sword logic, which aims to reduce the universe to the strongest. Byf has a few of videos on this so i recommend them if you wanna understand how both sword and bomb logic work! :D

FINALLY. I was waiting for this one. These next few seasons are going to be SO GOOD. I'm assuming you've already played through the whole thing, so i'll put a little bit of context here. The traveller as we know it, honestly, is incredibly selfish as a being. Yes, it gives gifts, and power, WHEN IT FEELS LIKE IT BENEFITS FROM IT. The traveller has always acted out for its own safety, and has always picked itself over anything else. The Eliksni Whirlwind, Our Collapse. Savathun. It runs when it can't fight. It shuts down when it can't run. It chooses more "guardians" when it believes they can help it survive. Whoever it is, never matters, if it believes they will act to help it. End of the day, this isn't actually told in the story, but it is VERY heavily implied. I think it is incredibly hard to trust the traveller, but at the same time, we need it to survive. The concept of being "Worthy" i believe is flawed. It is not about proving any worth, but proving that you can be trusted to serve and protect it. If you can be useful. PS. Still watching, so, I may leave like, 15 comments answering different questions in the video.

My #1 Favorite Campaign “Forsaken” My #2 Favorite Is Definitely “The Witch Queen” Forsaken was an extremely good story & Witch Queen was also extremely good but also insanely interesting cuz of how everything in the campaign is of Lore & So Witch queen has a insanely good story & lore & revealing more lore that was hidden as well lol.

So the hive were always supposed to be guardians. Suvathun says she made a mistake following her sisters into the deep. Once they became the hive the traveler who was looking for then went "well there goes that idea." Then went looking for something else. The traveler then found us. We are the backup.

The funniest part was they released the trailer for Witch Queen about her and her hive wielding the Light, and then right after they did the trailer for the last season "hey btw we're gonna help savathun lose her worm :)"

Yes the one thing about destiny is you will get many, many, many threads but very few of them get picked back up, and usually not for a while, I’ll make sure not to spoil anything I know! Can I mention the mechanic to that “puzzle” in reflection? There’s not much to it, just take a closer look at them is all I’ll say for now 😊 Also I know you aren’t super interested in changing your build but this expansion is where Void 3.0 was introduced, could be some fun messing around with Void! If you have Briarbinds unlocked you could use that, just use your rift and you get a little friend who helps you, no worries no stress, just tons of buddies and rifts!

The mission on the pyramid ship ia actually so good.

If you haven't you should go back and watch videos of community reactions to the reveals, specifically the Beyond Light reveal where we found out we were getting a Stasis subclass, and the Witch Queen reveal where we found out about Hive Ghosts

By the way, the scar thing you guys saw in the Mirror Room, was part of a triumph involving Parasite. Not important to the campaign.

The Witch Queen is still an incredible expansion, and I'm sad that the Hive Lightbearers have been mostly absent from the game in recent times - they were a really cool enemy type. Savathûn was also an incredible antagonist, and I hope we can see her return in the future. Anyways, I figured it's time to talk about a bit more gameplay history since we're here - the Witch Queen is, of course, where weapon crafting was introduced. If you've been playing any of the seasonal content that came out since then you probably already know how it works - get enough red-border/Deepsight variants of a given craftable weapon (the standard for most Legendary weapons is 5, but some oddballs occasionally require less) and you unlock its pattern, allowing it to be shaped at the Enclave. Back when crafting released, however, there were a lot more hoops to jump through than there are now - namely, I can remember these things as being major differences between then and now: -When crafting was first introduced, you had to actually spend time getting kills with a red border weapon before you could extract its Deepsight essence. Now you can just dismantle the weapon or extract the pattern progress when inspecting it. -At Witch Queen's launch, weapons without crafting patterns could drop with red borders. This did serve something of a purpose at the time, because... -When crafting originally released, there were a bunch of different materials you needed to collect in order to create certain weapons/perks for the weapons. Those have since been sunset and replaced with Enhancement Core/Glimmer costs, except for Ascendant Alloys, which are a special resource used in shaping enhanced perks and *maybe* some exotics? -Crafted weapons do need to be leveled up before you can get all of their perks - st launch the only way to do this was by getting kills, but since then Bungie has added the ability to buy weapon levels using Glimmer/enhancement cores. This expansion is also where Origin Traits were introduced - these being sort of "third perks" assigned to weapons based on what activities and (if applicable) what weapon manufacturer they came from. They tend to be less impactful than standard weapon perks, but still are a very welcome addition to the game - one I believe was worth the sacrifice of masterworked weapons being able to generate guaranteed Orbs of Power, because that used to be a thing but had to be removed to accomodate Origin Traits. anyways that's it. sorry for making this whole wall of text for some things a lot of people watching this video will already be intimately familiar with, I just wanted to share this.

This is IT. In the post campaign Savathun says some stuff that is still relevant. While some stuff is basically confirmed, many of it is still not One thing of Note: Savathun experimented with Light so many times before. In the campaign you hear about corrupted Light in her Throne World. It is a nod to the strike Savathuns Song where she kills Guardians to make Light Crystals out of them. She really had this planned for a loooong time She even experimented with Ghosts before and after she got the Light And watching this way after you have all this context really makes the lines even better. This truely was the best campaign story so far Also I am so excited for you to see Ghost of the Deep soon Also ayyy, a fellow Music enjoyer :D

So, they don't really explain this in the campaign, and they do it more through the Lore Entries. The Hive Ghosts were the same as our ghosts, created at the same time. Savathun and Imarru, pressured them into it, but, some were also tortured. Used for experiments. all the fun stuff. Alongside this, was the fact that they were from, and work for the Traveller. It's hard for them to know that the traveller wants the Hive with light, and not do it, if that makes any sense?

I don’t think there’s a pre-requisite to becoming a guardian, the lights about new beginnings. Sacrifice and devotion are ideals for a guardian to live up to, not something they all share

Could it be that your reactions are partially or completely fake? There is solid evidence of this in this video. In this video you play the Witch Queen campaign on Legendary for the "first time", however, in the first two missions (maybe in later ones too, I'll have to keep watching the video), the loot chests that should normally spawn after some specific encounters do not spawn These chests just don't spawn if you've already looted them once Means at least the first two missions in the video are definitely not your first runs Sorry, but I know the game a little more and I noticed that immediately, maybe it's just a few missions and the rest is real, hopefully... Edit: Ok, chests spawned in the third mission But that still means you had already done the first two missions But whatever, like your reaction anyway, keep it up!
