I tried it today... If you are a data guy, this app is fantastic! The only negative is the speed-accuracy, especially in serve.. I had tried other speed measurement devices, and I serve pretty stable in the 100 mph range, and the app needs some improvement in this aspect.
It shows the average speed of the ball, not the initial speed. The serve speeds on TV show the speed when it leaves the racket, consequentely the speed registred is far less than expected
Great video. Do you know how accurate the tracking and the radar gun is? It definitely seems like your serve is faster than it was registering on the app. Also, does the location of where you put the phone affect the accuracy of what it’s reading? Did you put the phone on a tripod by the fence ?
I put it on a tripod behind me. I also use a a mount for the back fence to hook up my phone. And it would not be a distraction if it's far enough away from the court
Do you know how the app track the shots when we play doubles? For example I am wearing an Apple Watch with Swing AI installed and the other 3 dont. How can it know which shots are mine? 😅
It will eventually ask you to match “screenshots” throughout the match to identify who is who in the video… if they don’t have one, you can put in a “virtual friend” so that way you can add them without creating an account for them
'In our testing, we haven't yet found an Android device (including the latest ones) that can run our A.I. in real-time. The hardware still needs to catch up to the iPhone 11 (see "NPU" benchmarks here to learn more). We are hoping they will catch up by Spring 2023, which is when we're currently planning to expand to Android!' Translation: 'we wrote the app for ios and cant be arsed to optimise it for Android.' A bunch of Android phones are way more efficient and beat iPhones on benchmarks. This is utter spin doctor bullshit
@@TheTobynorth yeah right. Laughable. I don't look too closely at the stat's but I find it hard to believe there aren't several androids that are far more powerful. I do no it's far from straightforward to grab an apple app and put it on Android however.
