most people would just let go with the hand thats being pulled on, like he did here. KInda like if someone reaches over and presses your thigh down to try to make you press harder on the go go pedal, you simply lift your foot up off the pedal.
My son has a Tesla Model 3 Performance. He took me for a demonstration ride. He did it from a dead stop. When he mashed the throttle, I remember blurting out "Holy F**K". What a rush. I have a stock Corvette (C5) and it would not have a chance against his Tesla. I can't even imagine how the Plaid accelerates. I need to start buying lottery tickets.

By far the most memorable Tesla experience yet at GMC, eclipsing even seeing the most Roadsters under one roof since the early days at Tesla. Thanks for coming by Uncle Chet, and giving our employees something to share with their grandchildren.

No one here will ever understand what that acceleration feels like unless you’ve driven one. I drove one today and legit felt disoriented flooring it. It’s so shocking and mind blowing a car and accelerate that fast. Still was a lot of fun lol

Come back in 8 months and tell us all the money that you did not save. Tires constantly maintenance is a fortune God forbid you have something that goes wrong there's no mechanic that can help you it will have to be towed to Telsa.
@@Mr.Robert1 Most people wont drive it like this. There is no maintenance. Tesla actually will pick the car up free so no cost to that and I personally would save $300 a month on Fuel.

I'm into older cars and For years I would say to myself "modern cars should be sooo far ahead of older cars that it makes it near impossible for anyone to want an older car over new ones". We have definitely reached that level now.
Don't waist your money. Look into it more. Check out and talk to actual owners that have owned over 6 months. Not the new guys that are still blinded by the speed and such. It's like the people that want the newest iPhone every time they come out with a new one. I learned over time not to impulse purchase anymore.
I hope Elon is seeing just how much you are doing to show just how good his cars are with both real and unreal tests. Thanks Chet from Brisbane, Australia
I have a model S. I have no regrets buying this wonderful car. Its acceleration is unbelievable and I didn’t not but the Ludicrous mode. I can’t imagine the new plaid drag or cheetah mode, must be unreal… I love Tesla. Not sure why people hate Tesla cars
You should do a video of people trying NOT to react. I feel like that would be hilarious….Ive cut some pretty quick 60’s and feel like I’d still have a hard time trying to to stay straight faced during my first plaid launch
Even in a Model 3 Performance it's hard to keep a straight face from the launch, nevermind the Plaid. :) I've had my M3P for 2 years now and launching it is still the highlight of my day every single time.
@@paeppi I do about 10,000 miles a year, as the UK is pretty small you never really get extreme mileage here. Most of my tyre wear comes from launching and fast driving on back roads like you said. :) I got my car in November 2019 and so far I've only needed to replace the rear tyres, this was done at 16,500 miles, currently at about 21,000 miles. It cost an insane £220 (About 300 USD) per tyre! (They're Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S) When I first got the car I was showing off with friends doing donuts and drifting, so hopefully the second set lasts a bit longer. The front ones probably have another 5,000 miles left on them, still a ways off the wear indicator.
I don't need anything like this car, nor do I even know if I can trust myself with it, but I just want to ride along on a couple of launches. It looks absolutely life-changing.
Chet! I’ll be in AZ for the first time in 8 years to see my kid I haven’t been able to see since she was 3. It sure would be cool to pull up in a plaid! 🙏
What for? It gets old after a few months. Then you pay for more speed and on and on it goes. The need for speed. I got it out of my system on the track years ago. Now it's a Honda Accord sport 2.0T Fast enough very dependable great on gas. Price is right as well.
I didn’t understand the power of Tesla until today. The salesman told me to punch it at a stop sign. I did. I immediately turned around and went back to the dealership. I now have a Model 3 dual motor in my driveway. My best friend and I killed three batteries on the freeway tonight and he’s trading his Lexus from a red dual motor tomorrow. Incredible cars.
I'm driving like that since a year and it's totally addictive. At the moment I can't imagine ever buying me a gasoline car again. My wife is still driving the family van with the kids, but for me? No! - I need this pure extreme and yet smooth silent acceleration.

Anyone else getting Knight Rider vibes a little? When the S takes off... we used to see this with camera tricks and an artificial "engine" sound back when Michael Knight and KITT were making Firebirds cool. But now... we actually got cars that can do some of this stuff legit.
My son and I rode in a Plaid a coupe months ago at a car show. We were in Hobby Lobby parking lot, which is pretty big and the dude offered a ride and did a launch. It lasted about 2 seconds. If i had not been buckled in I woulda been up in the back glass. My ass came out of the backseat a little bit. Then we went out onto the hiway access road. OMG. Afterwards I had to go buy some Rolaids I kid you not.
Once experienced such EV u never wanna go back to noisy combustion, with toxic fumes, getting dirty with oil and filter change, all the problems with recycling motor and gear oil ... change of spark plugs .. taking care for antifreeze cooling in winter ... etc ... drove first time a Tesla 2 weeks ago, even with towing a trailer. Just relaxing ... smooth rude. And the clean interior design even makes it more enjoyable.
Because this has been done by other RU-vidrs months ago. Its getting old. People are starting to learn what these cars are all about now. They pollute plenty when producing the batteries. The electricity comes from 90% fossil fuels how is this not polluting the environment ? Wasn't that the point of making these things ??? Or to race around like a kid that has not grown up yet??
@@Mr.Robert1 i agree with pollution and production of its batterys but I'm not referring to the pollution. There is more to take away from his funny videos than a tesla.
It really is at the point that they need acceleration limits like speed limits. This is so insanely fast no one can judge how quickly it is coming... nearing the limits of physics.
This is why I love America misfit investors and misfit law makers and politicians, America is free because of this, free thinking I mean If you can think it and it makes a significant difference, let’s do it, even if it’s crazy.
Being a pilot I love the yoke and love that fighter jet spec acceleration that’s what I imagine jumping off the deck of a carrier would be like in a f18
I used to give people rides on my property thru some fairly extreme trails in a s104x4 that I bought rolled over, cut the roof off, and turned into a brush buggy. I had a Russian girl who was fine for a second, but started cursing at me in Russian and punch me in the face, she got out, and walked a mile back to the house. Madness
