@@benjaminr6153 I agree …. I know restaurants can have their bad days. I’ve even been disappointed on a few occasions at SriPhaPhai- I guess it depends on the chef that’s making the dish that day. Where’s playground?
@@NYC-2-BKK Playground is in Jackson Heights. It’s truly exceptional. I no longer live in NYC, I’m in the suburbs, but when I go to a local Thai place near me and I ask for very spicy (ped mak mak in Thai) and they ask me if I’m sure - I tell them I eat at Playground. Every Thai person within 25 miles of NYC seems to know it.
Great Thai restaurant recs and reviews! Love those places, some others favorites are Fish Cheeks, LumLum, Mitr, Chalong, Pure Thai. And thanks for not recommending SMALA with every dish & place :D No hate from me, people should get it if they're into chili oil/hot sauce, great to addition to the pantry
Been to Pranakhon and Soothr. Friend loves Bangkok Supper Club. The owners of Soothr and Fish Cheeks opened up the outstanding Chalong. There's also the very good LumLum nearby. KRU and Boran are also tasty in Brooklyn and of course there's the Thai spots in Queens.
Great Thai spots guys! I live me some Green and Red Curry dishes... Vietnamese is great as well. I would like to see some Ethiopian spots. I heard NYC has some good ones
Why does Thai food have Indian, you ask? Because the founder of Thailand and Cambodia was an Indian guy who married a native Khmer lady. Thailand and Cambodia used to be the same country. So yes, Thai and Cambodian people are genetically Indian. That's why the modern culture of Thailand descended from Mon Khmer (Cambodia). This blend of Khmer and Indian is what makes Thailand "mysterious.".
The last Thai restaurant I went to in Manhattan it gave me the 💩 I don’t like Thai food, I only like the women but I want to get used to the food so when I visit I won’t hate the food over there
