Third part of my dive into Heroquest, looking at the contents of the three expansion boxes - Mage of the Mirror, Frozen Horror and Rise of the Dread Moon. Let me know which is your favourite!
I'm continuing to 3D print alternative figures for the main Heroquest game system and get them painted up. How do the miniatures in the expansions stand up compared to the original box?

Ogre Horde. Wizards of Morcar and the Dread Moon is all I need.

I think Ogre Horde is expected in the UK early next year, not sure about Morcar... I suppose if you were using alternate minis you can just get the rules from the first time it was released? Apart from the different tiles and cards I suppose... how have you found the other expansions?

Great video, wanted to let you know you missed quite a bit of miniatures and furniture as each expansion has two trays of them. Also just fyi, in Mage of the mirror that hero is the male elf and in Rise of the Dead Moon that is the new Knight Hero. In Frozen Horror the Hero is the female barbarian.

Good to know, thanks. Yeah I found the other bits underneath but had already turned the camera off, I saw what I wanted though - the models seem much better quality than in the main game. I'll have to actually open the booklets and read what's in them rather than just guessing! :-D

@@WyvernMinisYeah there are actually 2 different versions of the main game, the one you bought was from the initial kickstarter, the other is a thinner version of the main box which includes the better quality minis they began to make once it hit retail. I have the one you own as well. Yeah there is a lot to read up on, including the online quests 😂 it never ends.

Wow, didn't know about the different models in the post retail box, so early purchasers supporting it got an inferior product? I've stopped doing kickstarters because of that kind of thing, and I got suckered into a lot of them in the past!

I feel like Mage in the Mirror/Frozen Horror can be played in either order. They were also known as the Quest Pack for the Elf/Barbarian respectfully. I am curious what you think of the challenge ramp up of Frozen Horror. Some have claimed the Barbarian expansion was far too difficult, perhaps unfairly so...

Cool, thanks for the info. I think it will be a little while till we get on to the expansion quests with the kids (two quests in a session is pushing it for them!), and unfortunately I think I'll be locked into being Zargon for the forseeable future, but we'll see. Maybe I'll use the app to solo the new quests to 'playtest' them! I'm looking forward to getting them painted up and playing more either way :-)

@@WyvernMinis sounds good. If you need more info, look up "Always Board Never Boring" he has a ton of Hero Quest (spoiler free) reviews up. 😊 Oh! Also keep an eye out for the "Prophecy of Telor" and "Spirit Queen's Torment" quest packs, they have even MORE dice!! 😁

Oh, I can hear it OK on my speakers. Sound quality isn't as good as normal as I was recording the audio while filming it rather than dubbing it later, so it has a bit of an echo. Not inaudible though?
