The BEST Thing About Pogradec, Albania 

Awesome! Me and my brother are planning a trip to Albania in Spring time!

I love albania sooo much and what they said is true and I agree with the man that said there is a lot of gossip and drama because it is a small town and everybody knows everyone and everything also I miss albania a lot I go there once in a meantime and I’m 13 and I live in America soo I can’t wait until summer comes becuase I’m going to albania to visit my family and friends and I miss it there alottt ❤️🇦🇱🇦🇱😭😭🤞🇦🇱❤️🇦🇱❤️🤞kush eshte shqiptare

I really like Pogradec. Been there two times already for a holiday and next year we go back to this place. Not to big, not to small, exactly how I like cities. It will also be the third time we will stay in hotel Enkelana. Perfect location, swimming pool, sauna, nice terrace near the beach, good breakfast, spacy/clean room for a family of five (from which three kids). Also they have a delicay in the city they called the Koran fish, which in my opinion tastes best at the restaurant Bimbli. Ate there two times, so guess where we will eat next time. A lot of entertainment though in the summer, all along the shores of the lake. And next year we will try the Kartodrom just outside the city. Also not to miss are the many Lavazh-es around the city, where for around 400-500 Lek your car gets a perfect cleaning, in and out. And when you are a tourist with a foreign plate on your car (the farther off, the better), everybody around wants to talk with you. Your car will be ready before you know it. Well, in fact everybody wants to talk with you when you walk around shopping, especially where there a lesser tourist. People are positively surprised. What i disliked most about Pogradec was the amount of litter around the lake. It's not a problem of Pogradec itself (it's all around Albania), but on the shores of the lake it's just a pity. Made a picture there with a tree on it and when back home I wanted to use this picture for a birthday card. Then I saw all that rubbish around the tree and I had a hard time filtering it out for that card.

Pogradec is my second city. I was in the army for 2 years there during f*** communist time. I loved the city than but now that is changed so much I love it even more. I dont know now but than Pogradec it was very famous for the byrek me gjize ( pita with a soft cheese stuffed inside) and Llokume me arra (sweets with walnuts) and my army barracks were just on the hill on top of the city 5 min walk from the city centre. Ne myket e Verdoves de... :-) have a nice time in a beautiful city of Pogradec to all foreign visitors. Greetings from London

Pogradec is an amazing city. My boyfriend is from there. I visited the city on Christmas and I loved it. I’m also from Albania - Tepelen.

Dude no way I literally used to live in Pogradec and I live like right right near the lake. But now my grandma and grandpa live there but I'm currently at Michigan because my parents couldn't find a job there so we got lucky and win the lottery and got plane tickets for Michigan. But I still love Pogradec.

fyi fishing is banned on the macedonian side. there is only one place in the world where this fish inhabits and it is in lake ohrid. i read somewhere that queen elizabeth has it sent to her. the first time i tried it i was challenged that it would be the best fish I've ever had...lol i took it up as i live in Melbourne Australia where i can go fishing and catch many different types of fish like whiting, snapper and flathead which are considered top tasting fish...boy did i get a shock! on the macedonian side they'll tell you it's from the lake...it's not go to pogradec! those lakes are pristine and all the rivers and tributaries not to mention underground waterways flow into into it which at it's deepest point is so damn incredible! pogradec is a hidden gem shhhh
