I'm really over TT; it's less "holy grail", and often 'they just discovered it' 😐. I am happy that YT at least is trending toward "less is more" makeup application though 👍🏾🥳

I feel you on this one. I like to see more than a few seconds of a product first impression to make a decision

I have an extra tip for your finger tip... instead of trying lipsticks on the back of your hand, it is more accurate on the tip of your fingers, cause it is more "redish" like your natural lips. It works better when the product has any type of a transparancy in its formula and you don't know if it is going to show up on your lips and what color it is going to be, specially when you have more colored lips.

Some of these I've heard of... via TT!!😁 but, the pressed powder before loose???👍🏻🎉👏🏻🥳 yes mam!! Especially for my 54 yr old under eyes!!💕💕💕 I've learned this year that using setting spray after powders then pressing it with my sponge takes away the ghostly look!!♥️ I've also learned that if you're skin tone is neutral... you actually can wear cool tones.. as long as it's in makeup accents... like blush & eyeshadow & lips!!💋😘💄🥰💐❤️

Hey, Taylor! I love your channel. ❤️ I’m a huge fan, and you are one of my favorites! You do such a wonderful job. Anyway, I wanted to ask if you could do a video comparing drugstore liquid eyeshadows, such as the E.L.F. or NYX ones. Thanks a million! Appreciate you! Keep up the great work!!

I actually tried the finger hack and it was exactly the lipstick color I prefer. Now I'm going to have to go around to all my friends and family and see if different colors appear.

I’m not on TT, but I’ve seen some YT “best of TT” videos like yours. Apparently they’ve discovered some tips I personally learned from Wayne Goss and Lisa Eldridge 10-12 years ago. For instance, keeping blush on your cheekbones and not past your pupils, or not applying products directly to your face but off a brush or the back of your hand…

The powder technique is really a great one. I tried “baking” so many times and I couldn’t understand why it looked patchy and cakey. I did the pressed powder first and then loose powder and it worked! Also make sure the powder on your puff is even. I use to just go straight in like I seen in videos and it will look uneven if it’s uneven on your sponge.

Great tips, the loose powder over pressed powder is one I’m going to try! A tip Jen Phelps shared was using a fluffy brush to apply full coverage foundation - tried it and it looked great!

I FINALLY got my hands on those Maybelline Ink lipstick in Peachy. I was planning to use it today. Before I do I'm going to try the finger test, lol. 🤞 it works because I'm at the point where I don't want to try another lipstick ☹ Maybe I'm just someone who should stay using lip glosses that have a bit of color to them 🤷‍♀️

I never saw that trick of your perfect lip color being the color your finger turns, but it may be true. I have heard many times that your perfect lip color is the color of the inside of your lip where the skin meets the gums.

Hallo, Thank you so much for these tips. I tried the spray the puff but sometimes it just made foundation worse. I am going to tap the puff first and try. Thank you.

That powder trick makes a lot of sense! Why did we ever think to put powder onto a damp surface to begin with?? 😆 have to try that one.

I don't know. I follow someone who goes right in with the setting powder. She also uses a puff but she makes sure to even out the powder on the puff before applying. She's an oily gal too. What I've learned from her is you want to use a setting powder that's very finely milled. After watching her do the routine using the right powder her under eyes look as smooth as she can get them. I say that because she does deal with more lines...

Hi Taylor. Since you shared the CG Ageless Concealer, I purchased it, and have used nothing else. It never creases, cracks or settles into lines. It's just remarkable! Great highlighter idea. Wow. The finger trick really works! I'm impressed. Thanks, Taylor. Have a great weekend! 💗💗

@@jennifermolina4396 I think it's fantastic. I'm 63, and it works wonders. I will say, that I don't have any darkness under my eyes, so I'm not sure if it would cover it, but it stays put all day long, and I don't even put powder to set it.
@reneklein6049
@reneklein6049 Год назад
@Excuse Meow I agree 100%. When concealers are too heavy, they tend to make the undereye area look older. If it's not enough on its own, you can always put a color corrector underneath.

Commenting on the powder trick... I have older, dryer skin and I can't do that trick on my face BUT if I need a touch-up later in the day, this trick works wonders after I have a little more natural oil on my face. Some of those loose powders I can't even use at all unless I'm touching up.

My fingertip turns magenta, which is ironically the color nude/neutral lip colors turn on my mauvey pink lips... Both colors clash with my skintone. The few warm toned nudes I've bought were too light to be my preferred "no makeup makeup" look 🙃

I’m glad everyone is sharing info/ techniques on TikTok, but it bothers me they steal the techniques from “old school” makeup artists. Randomly, the Purito Bb cream only works with a brush for me. So weird- it looks awful otherwise! 😬

The last trick didn’t work for me. I have a light olive skin tone and quite pigmented lips. My pinched finger was still several shades lighter than my lips and any kind of nude lipstick makes me look dead. Not to mention the “universal” shades that are often in bundles or free gifts are always too light and too gray/purple or orange/brown. We’re all a little different and that’s ok!
