Nice addition to the power outage solution kit.

Funny thing, woke up this morning to no power in the house. We took our showers with light from two small rechargeable LED lights and I barely made my husband some coffee using our Jackery 1000e inverter generator. It had been sitting for over 6 months and had 89% power remaining. Yes, these small generators are great for events like this as neither of us wanted to go drag the Champion 3500 out of the garage on a rainy morning. Power was restored 15 minutes before we needed to leave the house so we never got a chance to see what else we could with the Jackery. It’s sitting in the hallway being recharged for next time.

These small power supplies making things a little less inconvenient is exactly what I'm talking about. Glad you had enough power to make some coffee. A cup of coffee goes a long ways!

Why is it that so many RU-vidrs are shilling for these units lately? Most preach the superiority to a generator without doing any actual tests. 1600 Wh? That's not a lot of power and not for very long. Let's SEE it running the various household appliances in a simulated outage. Let's SEE the web of extension cords running up the stairs and throughout the house to power various critical items. Let's SEE someone actually trying to have lights and prepare meals during a simulated outage. Let's SEE someone heating their home in the middle of winter with one of these. Don't get me wrong, these are nifty gadgets for campers, tailgaters and apartment dwellers who have no other choice for some form of emergency power but for actually providing power to continue running your household in an actual multiday outage, you will find they fall far short of expectations.

These smaller storage units fit my needs better than a gas generator. There are several channels that are running their off grid rural homesteads with these units or other models that are larger for their needs. They have a place and have proven to be reliable. Lot of advantages! Keep on tractoring!

Ive got my eye out for a 10kw diesel generator. A lot of them run the Kubota D722 engine. I do think these batteries would be good for sump pump applications when it is only a 4 hour outtage, but for me I think the generator would be a better fit.

I know a guy that could really really put that thing through the test! 😊 I have been looking at these and other brands. Reason I would want one is to save on the generator.. I don’t burn none ethanol gas. I run 87 in all my generators never had an issue. Been living off grid now for 10 years. Problem is I just run mine to death. Lots of hrs on my generators. I’m at the point where my batteries for my solar are in need of changing out. Looking at less expensive ways to keep my power going. This look like a great idea. I just haven’t pulled the trigger on one cause know one near me has one to really give me input on how well and how long they last.

I’ve heard running regular gas isn’t an issue if you run them a lot like you do. It’s the longer term storage issue which makes sense. Right now EcoFlow has some good deal to be had. No sense running a generator all the time when you don’t need it. Keep on tractoring!

It's also worth checking out the Nature Generator's. I purchased 2 units 4 years ago and they work great. My two units link up to each other and you can link as many unit as necessary. They are either solar charged or wind driven or both at the same time. My two units are both charged by the wind and sun or I have the option of just plunging them in an outlet for a fast charge . These units are mobile and can be set up anywhere. I use them as my primary source of energy when the grid is down . Still have a gas generator when required but haven't used it in years.

Ecoflow has those options as well. More and more competition in this field is increasing the technology and bringing the prices down. Thanks for the comment. Keep on tractoring!

They don't keep freezers cold for all that long unfortunately.

Research that I've looked at says a couple days. I guess I'll do some testing.

Tried to buy one of these. The company stated (THEY LIED) that they “could not ship to Hawaii”. How do I know they lied? They told me I could buy one from their dealer in Honolulu (which is in Hawaii). So, either they can’t ship and their dealer has no product, or they lie. Binary solution. I’m certain the truth is they don’t want to ship, not that they can’t. So it doesn’t matter if it works if you can’t get it. If they had told me they wouldn’t ship to Hawaii because of (insert reasons here) I would give them the benefit of the doubt. But they just chose to lie about it. Not people I’d choose to do business with.

Bummer you can't get one in Hawaii. How long ago did you look into it? Wonder what the deal is.
@halsnyder296

Emailed the company. I can pay a couple hundred dollars shipping (arranged by myself) from Honolulu to Hawaii (Big Island). Also, can’t get the discount. Tried to order one in one of their last sales, couldn’t do it leading to the whole “can’t ship to Hawaii” thing. Contacted their dealer on Oahu who would not sell at the sale price. So… I would have to pay a couple hundred bucks more on top of regular price. Admittedly this is mostly due to the Jones Act which created and sustains shipping monopolies to Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and Alaska. When I moved here I investigated and I could have shipped (from Seattle) them to London for less. Forgive my rant please

I love my 2 little battery inverter units. Even have a portable solar panel to charge them. Great for power outages but they just don't run everything. The amount of battery I would need to replace my generator is 10x the cost. Also, our power tends to go our for a few days on end. The price I pay to live where I do. Have charged one via the truck Run the gazebo on one and often the solar can do that and charge it. Would like to get a PV200 in addition to the PV120 I have I did go with a different brand. Bluetti.

From the research I've read I should get at least a couple days of run time for the size freezers I have. Keep on tractoring!
@eosjoe565
@eosjoe565 9 месяцев назад
@@ritterjon Why don't you plug your freezers into this unit and actually TEST how long it lasts? You don't need a power failure to test the unit rather than relying what others have said.
