Something a little different this week as I have been out of the workshop.This was my first year as a judge for the skill build competitions and so I thought I would show those of you that have never seen a banker masonry competition what exactly its all about.

Well I would be interested in what you actually saw them doing.... were they close or were there massive differences between no.1 and 8? Were you disappointed about the overall quality or pleasantly surprised? Come on Tom, give us a review, don't leave us hanging in there!

Please make carving timelapse videos on how to make certain shapes but not fast video just at normal speed, for us to see how everything goes, I really approciate ur work from the button of my heart

To what extent do you think the supply of professional masons matches the demand these days? Which way do the scales tip?

There is definitely a lack of quality masons around. Demand is higher than supply. There are some coming through but the quality of training isn’t what it was unfortunately. It comes down more to the company the apprentices are working for as to how good their training is. Partly why I’m trying to out masonry content that can hopefully help training masons as well as masons who perhaps want to see some more techniques or processes so they can improve.
