Well I hate to admit it, but I have dropped the Milwaukee framer from 10’ up, not only once but twice. To hear that big guy hit the cement I thought no way it functions. Yet it works great still. Very impressed. I use a lanyard now lol

@@archael18 ya okay lol I've been using both for a long time. 30° for both. Every dewalt has stopped working in less than 6 months framing with them every day. The milwaukees haven't had a single issue. In fact dewalt has had two of them for almost a year now and can't even fix them or wont. They keep sending it from place to place making excuses. They are garbage for anything besides using them a few times a year for diy projects lol

I have 2 of the dewalts. Just because all my other tools are dewalt. So it doesn't make since to change. Battery life is good and the performance is great. Only issue is you will definitely have to change the return springs after a long time of extremely hard use. Which is very easy to do and only costs like $20. I've had them a few years and that's been the only issue.

I honestly made a massive switch this year from dewalt to milwaukee. It has cost me thousands but if I'm being honest my dewalt tools were always breaking. Maybe it's just bad luck. I know some of my guys also treat them like shit. (That's why I don't them use them anymore) but honestly it was the best choice I have ever made tool wise. I bought the milwaukee 31° and will never look back. It only felt awkward and heavy for the first day or two. Now I will take it over any other . (Although I have Jerard the senco framing nailer is incredible but the price is insane. Either way our tools are our pride and joy at work or at home and whatever you have doesn't matter if you are getting the job done . Stay well my fellow tool enthusiasts

I started using dewalt tools about 12 years ago. I had all 18v line of tools now I have almos all the 20v. I have the 21° framing, 18 and 16 gauge. I love them. It gets the job done and not overpriced. I payed $200 for the framing and $100 for the finishing nailers (tool only) ($25 for a 2ah battery, $40 for 4ah) brand new from a reseller (they buy tools by the pallets and sell them cheap)

You do realise that the 18volt and 20volt tools are exactly the same? They just rate them as 20volt in the US and 18volt in places like the UK!

I have the DeWalt 21-degree cordless. For what it is not it makes up for and what it is. Personally speaking I love the fact that I don't have to lug an compressor around and deal with a hose for small jobs. The nailer is at times inconsistent. The magazine capacity is an issue. You can't even fit two strips of collated nails in it. I have to brake a strip in half to fully load the magazine. The rafter hook is completely useless. The Dewalt 15 and 18 gauge nailers is are beasts though. No real complaints owning them. The wind up noise is a little annoying at first, but I don't even notice it anymore now. Honestly it's better than hearing a compressor run all day.

I am not a carpenter by trade. I just bought a framing nailer because I always wanted one. I used to rent them from Home Depot but every time I thought I would just buy one, the price scared me away. But, I just bought the Milwaukee 30 degree based on recommendations from other tool guys about Milwaukee quality without going through too many reviews. The main complaint was the weight and I agree but you get use to it. I'm super happy with it even though I will probably only ever use it on fence repair. They are a great tool for anyone to have and I know someone will need it and I will loan it to them. I will probably build something in the future and will be glad I have it. The batteries are super good and seem to last a long time and charge very quickly. I love the fact that it has just a short noise when activated. I think the Dewalt would get to me after a while of listening to the revving.
@endurokotrba743
@endurokotrba743 3 года назад
I bought the Dewalt when it first came out because it was a 21 degree and those nails were cheaper and easier to find than 30 degree, 6 months later I bought another one. I have built several homes and a bunch of remodels with these nailers and they work great. It took a little time to get used to the timing of the "wind up" but its not a big deal. I have had problems with the return spring breaking, cheap and easy repair, but now the driver has broken on one and the other driver is worn so much it doesn't engage with the wheel (if you have seen the inside you know what I'm talking about). Now the driver is not available so I may be stuck with a bucket of parts. One issue I think needs to be addressed is the hook, it could be better. I don't trust it hanging in the rafters anymore after watching it drop to the floor. Another thing is I wished it could drive 3-1/2" nails.

I've only used a old passload so far, but both of these guns seem to be pretty capable, bump stop firing Is a luxurious thing and if you were in an awkward position you don't have to push in for a second to fire and potentially miss. Also with noise, you're likely to use earmuffs anyway regardless of what framing gun you use. I'm going to look up what these guns use for mechanisms.

Thanks for video, i have been working with dewalt, when its brand new it shoots well, after couple months of use it got weaker and now it can only work as plywood nailer for short nails only, no more framing nailer. It happened like this on the second gun already, so im pretty sure thats how they are. They get tired pretty soon. Ill definitely have to try milwauke with hope that it will keep shooting with same power for much longer time than dewalt.

I would have to agree that it’s a tie. I own all Milwaukee cordless tools, but some companies are just better at making certain tool than other companies. That’s why when tools were all corded you bought the best tool from the company that made a certain tool better. Now we are somewhat locked into one platform unless you can afford to by into more than one battery platform. I wish we had some type of alliance system here in 🇺🇸… The only good thing about not have an alliance system is you get more competition.

Being a Milwaukee owner I have to admit that weight is a huge factor in everyday usage. I know a guy that bought one and is a full time framer. He used it one day and got ride of it because it was to much to work with on a daily basis. Both are great nailers. I will end up getting the Milwaukee since that is my battery line and because i am not a full time framer just a renovator/ DIYer. If I were a full time framer I would probably go for a Pasload as it is the lightest.

I've owned several of the Dewalt guns and put them to the test on framing sites over the years. They work good, but they're so fragile compared to say my Paslode gas nailers. The only thing they have going for them over Paslode is the no fuel cell thing. I've had to send the Dewalt in for repair a few times due to 8ft drops onto wood subfloor. I can honestly say I've never broke a paslode from dropping it other then a battery that got ejected out of the gun when the gun rolled down a flight of stairs once. The hook on the Dewalt really sucks also. It's plastic and flexes under the weight of the gun on your belt unlike Paslode. So it's too easy to drop when climbing around. I'll be buying this Milwaukee next purchase over the dewalt just because the hook issue and the Milwaukee seems to be a more rugged design then the Dewalt.

I have the dewalt 30 degree nailer and it's garbage. Now I am a dewalt fan boy and buy nothing but dewalt so this is a hard story to tell. Also I'm not an idiot fan boy I honestly believe dewalt products are built better than others. It's brought up in this video with the ergonomics. I see so many tools being built flashy for diyers but for a tradesman who uses them daily they are bulky, and not made with ergonomics in mind. When I see this I feel someone who doesn't use the tools has engineered the product, but with dewalt I feel like someone who has used the tool on a regular basis has designed the tool for maximum performance. So I bought the 30 degree dewalt nailer and used it for 2 days and the trigger spring went out. I had to take the remainder of the day off and run 30 minutes home for the receipt and an additional hour in the same direction to the nearest home depot to swap it out. I then went 2 1/2 days on the second nailer and had it go down on me. This time the gun just didn't Rev up. Again I lost half a day and had to drive the hour and a half to get another replacement. Now on the third gun I used it for one day and then the framing job was complete. For the next month I was working on trimming out several properties and hadn't used the framming nailer. This week I was back on a framming project and used the framming gun for a day with no issues. The next day the third nail I fired after lunch was its last nail. Again after 2 1/2 days the dewalt gun took a crap. I Again lost the remainder of the day but this time drove to a local hardware store and bought the Milwaukee 30 degree nailer. I was in the store for an hour debating on on the Milwaukee or a Paslode. I didn't want to buy either but needed a gun to continue working. I called dewalt and explained everything. With the manufacturing date stamped on the gun they are sending me a new one but it will take 2 weeks for it to arrive. I pushed back on this as what man can wait 2 weeks to continue working. The dewalt customer service rep I spoke to hardly spoke English, I had to have her repeat almost everything she said to piece together what she was saying. I kept getting we are sorry and we know the frustration you have responses. I was told that her supervisor would tell me the same thing. I feel a sales rep should be contacting me to discuss the issues and discuss if there is a better model to get like possibly this 21 degree nailer. So with knowing the replacement is taking 2 weeks I now need to commit to a gun to get me through the wait period. The Milwaukee design Again looked like someone who hadn't ever used a framing gun before with the elongated body that would limit tight space work. But I ultimately chose the Milwaukee over Paslode due to the addition of needing fuel cells and the lack of bump fire on the paslode. The tools were not out of the box for me to handle so the weight of the Milwaukee was a major disappointment to me since I'm stick framing and an old 96' X 75' factory into 4 apartments. There is alot of overhead nailing on this project and I definitely felt it withing the first 3 hours of the next day. The Milwaukee gun does have issues with toe nailing with splitting wood and adjusting the nailer higher on the stud for a bottom plate or lower on the stud for a top plate causes the stud to get pushed off its mark significantly. But the gun has made it past the 2 1/2 day period so it has out performed the dewalt. I am very disappointed in the service from dewalt with this. I went through 3 guns in a weeks worth of time and can't even get expedited shipping on a replacement. I guess this review would be complete without addressing the sounds. Yes I live the noise from the Milwaukee and was glad to see this tech used in dewalts pin nailer. The winding up noise doesn't bother me because it still shoots as fast as I can run the gun, the new tech just sounds cooler. Also I'll review the rafter hook. With the dewalt I found myself raising the dewalt above my head and placing it on the rafter with two hands as I was afraid of getting the hook twisted and snapping it since it's made out of plastic. The Milwaukee one is just a metal hook and I find myself just raising this one up with one hand and letting it drop more aggressively. Now The metal hook is just a small bar where the plastic on the dewalt is a much beefier design that I my be babying more than I need to. Raiding the dewalt gun up with two hands was comfortable to me with its design. The Milwaukee I did catch myself hanging it with two hands once because it was awkward to hand with two hands. But with the weight of it I should save my arm and use two to hang it moving forward due to its weight lol. Take this for what it's worth and let me now has the 21 degree nailer been built with different stronger parts. I strayed from this to get away from the plastic mess on the nail collation. Plus tje added reloads due to fewer nails on a stick compared to paper collated nails.

I have the dewalt nailer, works well. Honestly neither one of these are going to replace pneumatic nailers for framing. Small Remodeling and decking jobs, punch list, they will work fine. Dewalt flywheel design is a little noisy and a little slower, but at the end of the day I dont see the m18 saving that much time to make a significant difference. With a 1-1/2 year release date difference I would have expected more from Milwaukee..

Ive had the dewalt for the last couple years, just picked up a milwaukee on clearance the other day, cant wait to try it out. For my dewalt, I had to switch to .121 nails because it just couldnt sink .131s at all. So I just shoot an extra one to meet code. On shorter nails, for whatever reason it somtimes mis-strikes the head and folds the nail over, completely marring the work piece. And it jams at least 3-5 nails out of 100. so that sucks. Excited to try the milwaukee! Though I do like that I can get the 21 degre nails wet and they wont fall apart like the paper ones. Also saw some videos of the milwaukee being able to shoot both 21 and 30 degree nails by just swapping the extended magazines... so that definitely something to think about too.

I can only go off of what I have. I bought the Milwaukee nail gun a few weeks ago It was between that and a air nail gun. The reason why I got the Milwaukee is because I didn't want to run my compressor inside the house and I already own Milwaukee tools so the rite move was to get the nail gun I have battery's for.

@@dougsshed6713 I've had my Dewalt 30 degree for just over a year and agree with your assessment. No problems with jamming and sinks nails perfectly. Cost was only 259.00 on sale for the bare tool, I doubt the Milwaukee will be that cheap any time soon. As for the Metabo/Hitachi another RU-vidr had to send theirs in for service after 3 years because the compression cylinder was no longer holding a full charge.

If you have a dewalt platform buy dewalt and vise versa. I bought milwaukee because I thought it was way better but wasn't worth it as I have everything dewalt. I like the dewalt flywheel so I know how often I can nail. When sheeting with the milwaukee i would shoot to many times because it has no noise and in turn didn't sink the nails in all the way.

I have the Dewalt's and as they age they go down hill quickly, jams, misfire, not sinking nails, moved to paslode and better results but hate the gas thing, just started us using the new Milwaukee and like you said the power difference is very noticeable, the balance comparison is a little unfair because when you add the larger mag it counter balances the gun for a much better feel.

Just saw this review...I have used the Dewalt, never the Milwaukee. To me the Dewalt is just a little underpowered for driving 3 1/4+ nails. Otherwise great nailer. Just at those length nails it couldn't quite seat them, so had to follow up with hammer. Still prefer to pneumatic because I don't have the continually droning compressor driving the neighbors (and me) crazy. Thanks for the great review. I may try the FUEL nailer, more because I have batteries for the lineup and other fuel tools now as well, which I LOVE! EDIT: I also deal with infrequent jamming with the longer nails using the Dewalt.

Many dirty job sites and I have made over 3000 potato boxes with it. I have had only few small problems with it: Screws walk off, easy fix just little bit locktite. Magazine jams when used in dusty job sites, spray silicone grease works great. Sometimes when you have two clips of nails in, it will fire two nails and jam.

I actually showed my partner the video the other day we have the Milwaukee Roofing guns with the air hose and the Porter-Cable pancake air compressors but I brought up the idea do we want to purchase all new framing guns finishing guns or do we want to purchase the Milwaukee air compressor with the M18 battery and we're going to price out the difference between buying new guns we have plenty of batteries but I think it's just going to be the finish nailer just because of the reason when you're doing trim and base molding everything is usually almost finished so you don't want to drag a compressor and a air hose around but really like is new Milwaukee guns baby as pecans break or possibly sell them but I got to see what all the prices are another great video enjoy your weekend you and your family🌞🇺🇸👊

The Senco is released next month. BTW, the Senco comes from a company that actually makes their own Framing nails in the USA from USA Produced Steel Rod at their own factory. The new Senco Tool will be field serviceable and will use their next generation Fusion Technology, which uses pressurized air to drive your nails. This system is far more predictable with depth of drive over the cone clutch (And much simpler). Cone clutches use cables connected to a driver and a transmission system that you need a masters degree to repair. The Senco will also drive a .148 Shank Nail. No matter who's non-butane cordless gun you purchase, you are more then likely using Senco Original Technology.

M18Fuel nailer, brad, drill, ratchet drill, nut busters and impacts for smaller bolts. Milwaukee batteries will last longer and nailer won't weaken from use. The Milwaukee was able to shoot threw cement siding and into the stud , my dewalt wouldn’t sink one ! The trim gun dosnt always sink the nail and leaves marks in trim . Cleaning them frequently helps a lot but working along side my buddy With the red platform I see the difference first hand . I also bought there xr impact and drill set and the impact won’t hold bits within a year and the drill won’t even move the chuck . I still like the 60 volt tools I have but the quality isn’t what it should be . Look at there old 18 volt trim guns and staplers they kept the old system w old problems and made it look cooler and more expensive.lmk if anyone else had these issues .
