im glad for your mom. what sold me on the soul was the design and features. so smooth n quite drive. lover the under body covers, that reduces road noise. hopefully last 13+yrs like my 2010 forte. lo e the 10/100k warranty.

Good morning!! Doesn't it? I think they make good friends! 😂 They'd be great little toads for folks, rather economical vehicles. Or those little Chevy Bolt cars, it would be awesome if they could regenerate charge while being flat-towed! That might be a decent vehicle for RVers if that were an option and might be the only Chevy I'd ever consider. 😂

@@CozyLivingMachine Another guy with a vlog uses a fiat to flat tow. It too is a small little car that probably weighs next to nothing. Chevy also sells a model called the “Spark” which I understand can be used if it’s a manual tranny 🤷🏻‍♂️

My wife is on her second Hamster Mobile, a 2020 Soul GT Line Turbo. She buys a new one every 6 years. She wants to a new one in 3 years, but she's mad at KIA for dropping the Turbo engine and the real Automatic Trans with gears in the Soul. She says that KIA neutered her Hamster. She says she hope they bring back the Turbo and the real Auto Trans W/G back. Or make an EV Soul buy 2026 that can go over 300 miles per charge like my EV6 First Edition so she can get another Hamster. Our granddaughter and our great granddaughter are now driving Hamster Mobiles. When they all get together it look like a KIA Soul Dealership. LoL! Oh! not only is the Soul great around the city but they're great highway cars. We've driven the Hamster from Detroit, MI to Miami, FL a few times.

There's a REASON why they dropped the turbo, Nathaniel. They ain't bringing it back and tell you what in another 5 years you ain't gonna find a geared tranny anywhere except in trucks & EV's. I personally would not have an EV but I live in FL (this is no place for an EV its a red state AND our grid based electricity is already plenty high enough!).

Nope, not at this spot. It breaks my heart. Even McDonald's lost their real dollar menu other than for cheap things that keep you hooked like sodas and such! Prices are nuts!! And no Costco discount, especially not with them trying to charge her $10k more for this little car, and I'm glad Emma went to bat to squash that nonsense they were trying to force on her!

Yeah I felt the same way but I have the 2024 and got used to it very quickly. One thing I do miss though is no oil pressure and no VDC gauge. All you get is a fuel and coolant temp but they're digital as well. For a vehicle this small on the outside it has a LOTTA room on the inside. Its also fairly quiet considering that this is the LX base model. I have the tech package which includes a very important feature (that also works flawlessly) and that's blind side detect. Turn the directional ON & it lets you know audibly whether a vehicle is actually in that blind spot. Without the directional and it lights up an indicator in the mirror of whatever side that someone is there. I do not use lane keeping but it does work very well. I know how to drive though.

Nice Kia glad you got the 2023 model if it was an older one it would needed to be taken to a Kia dealership to get a software update to keep it from being stolen by the Kia boys!

Just make certain that update has already been applied. I guess the older ones had a key instead of a start button and that key didn't have the anti-steal chip. I'm looking for the 2022 because I don't like the digital instrument cluster. But I wish the Kia Soul had LED headlights but they're still using Halogens and there's no conversion avail (as yet) for them anywhere.

The LX does NOT have a start button. But for 2023, 2024 it has the engine immobilizer anyway. Even so always keep your FOB (and your spare) in a "Faraday" bag.

The Hyundai Venue is similar and I fit in it, I'm 6.5 340lb. Smaller engine. On my Ford Explorer Limited edition if you keep hands off steering wheel starts annoying you. I turn all that crap off including auto start, hate that. It's terrible on the engine no matter what sales guy tells you.

Wouldn't have one no matter the brand. My brother had a Toyota Camry (one of the best vehicles ever made) and he lost that vehicle after 8 years to water leakage corroding his electrical system. Didn't even know it (until it was too late). Insurance totaled the vehicle.

That KIA Soul would be the PERFECT tow vehicle, Silvia for Silver color, very cool. It matches the paint job on Baylee... you can even paint a white and blue stripe on the car. For the type of driving that you guys do though, I would think a 4 x 4 is better, something like a Subaru Outback, Congrats to your mom for the new car !!! I have a Huyndai Elantra with lane assist, and I don't always like it... sometimes it will start to take an exit even though I did not want to take the exit, and I have to fight the steering wheel. thumbs up on Frugals, have been there many times, just before you go up the hill to the Muckelshoot Casino on Auburn Way North !

Yeah lane hold works great but I actually know how to drive so I never use it. What I would NOT be without though with these tiny side mirrors is blind-side detect. The LX does NOT come standard with that but its avail in the tech package which is what I purchased for 2024. It works absolutely perfect.

its 28/33 33combine. i own the lx model with 16inch alloy wheels and mine does 420 full tank. but varies on your driving habits.

My ex has a 2022 LX. it has the 2.0 engine and gets about 30mpg in town. you gotta go easy on these vehicles on trips though.. keep it around 65 and it'll probably last forever. the speed-o-meter says 160 but that is totally ludicrous this thing wouldn't even stay on the road at that speed! the 2022 has analog gauges.

Varies. If you drive smooth like I do I get around 34 around around town close to 40 at freeway but speed kills mileage (due to wind resistance) I never exceed 65mph. Push push it to 70 and you lose 5 mpg.

I just bought a Kia EX which is not an entry model. It has a moon/sunfoof. I think this one doesn't. This must be a LX.

those things leak. Just one more thing to break and tell you what you can lose your entire vehicle if that happens. My brother lost a 2015 Camry due to a leaking sun roof that got into the electrical system that he was unaware of until it was too late. This was a paid off vehicle but the insurance company wrote the entire vehicle off and he was pissed.

I wouldn't have one myself they leak or rust or both. Plan on ditching that vehicle after 3 years my brother lost a Toyota Camry (one of the best vehicles ever made) to leakage it totaled the vehicle due to electrical harness corrosion. He didn't even know it until it was too late. Yeah either that or never open it (that's when trouble begins).
