Tallinn is a city of towers, cobbled streets, and wonderful vegan food!
We were blown away by the quality of the plant-based food we came accross on our short stay in the Estonian capital. In this video we show you our favourite places to eat delicious meat and dairy free food in Tallinn. From traditional Estonian cuisine like egg butter on rye at Kringel, to fine evening meals at Vegan Restauran V, as well as scrumptious brunch dishes from Rohe Kohvik. Have you visited any of these lovely spots? Have we missed one of your plant-based faves? Let us know where you like to eat vegan in Estonia below! Mike and Kyra x

In my experience of living there (which was twenty years ago) there are rings of expense in Tallinn Most expensive was: The Old Town or a ring around Raekoja Plats where cough and it costs you five Euros LOL The second ring were those outside the railway (like Rohe Kohvik) or outside Tammsaare Park These are further from the natural tourist spots Rohe Kohvik and Kringel are both in these categories The third ring is in the suburbs into which no tourist goes and though you don't have to speak Estonian it helps a lot. It also helps to have Estonian friends who know the city well LOL I found a Korean restaurant in the suburbs that was a nightmare to find for the taxi driver but they had some excellent accidentally vegan food and I introduced my Estonian friends to kimchi (one of whom ate everybody else's kimchi and the rest of mine!)

We always find your comments so fascinating and this one is no exception! It’s great to hear your knowledge of the city, perhaps we need some introductions to Korean food as we’ve not encountered it much - it will definitely be going on the list for a future trip! 😃💚

@@aroundtheworldinveganeats Thank you. I spent several years going backwards and forwards from Britain to Tallinn on business and even learnt some Estonian to help me It is, sadly, eight years since I last visited and as I now look after my partner full-time I doubt I will be able to visit soon. Korean food is surprisingly tasty and I do like their versions of sushi - kimbap and kimchi in moderation I have an old vegan Korean recipe book (I think it is actually vegetarian and vegan but still useful) I am trying to remember where the restaurant was and I remember it was north west of the city centre in Pelgulinn and I remember the road had railway crossings. Remember this is 20 - 25 years ago when not all the shops had been westernised.
