I have to admit the first time I was offered watermelon and feta salad, I did not want to try it. I do love both watermelon and feta but had never tried them together. I put the tiniest piece on my fork and slowly put it in my mouth. The flavours exploded in my mouth. All my senses say it should not work but am I glad I was wrong.

Yum. I love watermelon salad. I usually make mine with watermelon, feta, arugula, fresh mint and parsley, pickled red onion, pink Himalayan salt, and a little balsamic vinaigrette. Such a good side dish for salmon...I’ll try it out her way though!

I just made this and oh man is it refreshing and delicious! It's so good! As a kid my family would sprinkle salt on watermelon. Sweet and salty has always been my favorite combination.

I made this with honey lemon and olive oil and thyme dressing. And everyone was wrestling with the bowl. So I wrote down the recipe and everyone went home happy. Make it you will be obsessed I promise

If you use the backside of the blade when you scrape things in salad; your knife will keep its sharpness much longer and you won’t be doing damage to the blade.

Please use the back side of the blade to scrape; it destroys the edge to scrape with cutting side; and make dull very quickly

There are dozens of ways to pick the perfect watermelon posted online. Some work sometimes none work all the time. It's still somewhat of a crap shoot. Best to let it sit at room temp for several days after purchase to let it ripen. Good luck....

The key to finding a good water melon is look for the ugliest on the outside - a yellow or orange spot and webbing.

So every time I make this salad, a huge soupy mess pools at the bottom of it when I go to mix it. The dressing also doesn't stick because the ingredients are too watery. Am I doing something wrong?

@@maryalove5534 Don't knock it until you try it. Read the other comments, many recommend it. Just give the julienned onions a quick rinse under cold water, or use sweet onions. Try it!

James ... onions can cause certain issues, and some people are even allergic to them, and so they should be limited or not eaten!!!!! @@maryalove5534 I like chatting with nice people online as well, but with all due respect, there are so many recipes that call for onions that I can't see how they can be avoided. As far as I know, allergy to onions is extremely rare. From marinades to stews , soups, and ragouts, I can't even think of a recipe where onions are optional! 😊💐
