nice video she couldnt pick a better color shorts either ! wow i just stumbled across this page cant wait to see more videos the thumbnail allured me right in
Thank you for the great video. I got lucky and got several loads of pallets. I have them all cut down now, but I wanted to know, how do you store your pallet stock?
I built a table just for pallet breaking. I used 2x4s to raise it up from the table and use a 2x4 and a 3 lb hammer to slowly knock the boards off. They land on the table all intact and no splits. I couldn't help but notice Ali's legs. She hasn't missed a leg day it seems. Looks like she could kick you across a football field.
This one is in serious need of rebuilding! I think Ill make a studier one like you're saying next time. And no you're correct... Ali could both kick me across a football field and squat me as a celebration 😂
I use the silent method. I drill holes under the boards for lever (1. round narrow 2. wide flat). Then I cut nails short and push nails ends up by screw clamp. Then pull out by fork. No hammering in this house.
Use a speed square and square off the slats as close to the runners as possible. Then cut them off with the circular saw. Then you can pretty much get them off the middle runner with a wide pry bar. Way quicker and you have more wood to use
I tried pretty much every way imaginable to breakdown pallets I found this way works best for me. And with my runners I run a chalk line and cut the forklift notches off to give me the longest piece of 1 1/2- 2 inch pieces. I don't have a table saw but I would think that would be easier and more accurate than my chalk line and circular saw method.
I have a front driveway filled with pallets, doing similar break ups in my driveway using a mallet and wrecking bar. annoying the shite out of pin head neighbours.
They actually chemically dry them so as long as you keep them dry they usually stayed pretty straight. Just be careful of splinters because whatever they treat them with is pretty nasty stuff!
Pretty much any hardware store should have one, they’re usually in the same section as the hammers. I think I got these particular ones at Ace Hardware
Just one thing about your method. By cutting the nails, your wasting the runner. Pulling the nails is a hassle but, I scored some beautiful oak, poplar and cherry just yesterday. If it's pine, no biggie though. Have fun and make something.
Come on now lol that saw is only $20 at harbor freight. Here's a link, it's worth having one! www.harborfreight.com/merchandising-promotions/hot-buys/6-amp-variable-speed-rotating-handle-reciprocating-saw-61884.html
Suzanne, dear, there's 100 different ways to skin a cat. Remember what works great for you might not work that great for the next person. & What seems to work really good for ole Sam here, might not work great for you. Dude seems to have a decent process going & getting some good fun time in with the wife, (I'm assuming that's his wife). Ole Sam keep it going ole son. I just scored 90 pallets & about to start this same very close process.
