HI! I'D LIKE TO ASK YOU IF A FEW WORDS WHICH I'VE FOUND WRITTEN IN AN OLD TEXT, MAYBE OF PHOENICIAN ORIGIN, COULD BE OF ARABIC ORIGIN. THE WORDS MAY HAVE CHANGED THROUGH THE CENTURIES, BUT I'M SURE THEY SHOULD KEEP SOME SIMILARITIES IN MODERN ARABIC. IN CASE YOU HAVE ANY IDEA, PLEASE ANSWER; GIVING AN APPROXIMATE MEANING, WOULD ALSO BE OF GREAT HELP. - ZIWAI - - ZIAZI OR ZIYAZI - - MAHV OR MAV - - HVE OR HIVE OR HIVEI - - TAVARZATH OR OR TAVARZITH OR TAVARZAT OR TAVARZIT - - HUMAYI OR HUMAI OR (HAMZA +) UMAYI . -NAYATH OR NAYAT OR NAYIT - MAAUM OR MA 'UM OR MAHUM -

Perfect lesson really. Yet, I teach only fusha because I am an American muslim convert. Yet I understand all the dialects, having lived in Egypt 20 years. I respond to literate friends in fusha, but must resort to dialect with the illiterate, sadly half the population. This is a result of memorizing quran wherein is writen لا تبديل لكلمات الله No exchanging the words of Allah

@MarkHachem 3 года назад
Hi Mariah! You get a hell of a good deal at 10$/month. Weekly lessons of 20-30 mins in depth immersive teaching. If you really want to speak the Lebanese dialect, this is the most effective and natural method. You also get lesson sheets after each video lesson to review, and access to a community where you can ask me and everyone questions to help you on your journey. All of this topped with some comedy and fun in the lessons, cause let’s face it, we always learn better when it’s fun. If you like to be challenged, this is for you. Thanks for considering! Hope to see you join the tribe!

@BlackPinkize
@BlackPinkize 3 года назад
1-Lebanese is the closest accent to standard Arabic after Syrian (my opinion). 2-It comes with a French touch (includes the french é ) due to French occupation 3-Spoken very softly compared to other Arabic accents. 4-Lebanon has the biggest number of entertainment/talent shows in the middle east. (The Arabic version of Star Academy, So you think you can dance, Take me out, Project Runway, Dancing with the stars etc.. are all produced in Lebanon with a Lebanese accent). 5-Lebanese, Syrian, Jordanian, and Palestinian are extremely similar and are the closest accents to standard Arabic.

Hello Mark, I hope you are keeping well. Your videos are wonderful, and I've been watching them for a very long time. I just wanted to mention that the term Learning Lebanese is inaccurate. A more accurate description would have been Learning Lebanese Arabic. I realize you used the word "dialect" in your video, but I guess the heading is not factual. Imagine how absurd it would have been for someone to introduce a video saying let's learn Argentinian, American, or Austrian, to describe Spanish, English, and German dialects respectively. Another more accurate description would have been to say that it is basically an Arabic language that has borrowed words from Aramaic, French and English. You make it sound like it's made up of those four languages in equal parts, which is simply not correct. Every word that you used in the video is Arabic. Thank you and keep your amazing videos coming!
@arunaelmarvelthalassa4765
@arunaelmarvelthalassa4765 3 года назад
Welll,actually this is a complicated subject. There are some linguists say that Lebanese ''Arabic'' is a Semitic language like Arabic , not a descendant of Arabic directly. Because of the Arabization we accept them as one language called Arabic. But we can easily observe the diference between Classical Arabic and Lebanese. They are more distant to each other compared to Spanish and Portuguese . And we accept them as different languages. But even if you disagree with me this is not a linguistic video. Here Mark wants to refer the language which is spoken in Lebanon. Greetings from Turkey.
@kfa835
@kfa835 3 года назад
@@arunaelmarvelthalassa4765 Do you really believe that the Lebanese dialect of Arabic is more distant to classical Arabic than Spanish to Portuguese? Almost every word in the Lebanese dialect is common with classical Arabic. How about the Italian dialects spread across Italy which are sometimes completely unintelligible from region to region. Are they different languages, or is it just Arabic that has to be bashed? And so there are 20 Arabic dialects, is each one a language, or is it only the Lebanese dialect that is a separate language? Why is it for example that the Iraqi dialect is not considered a separate language, even though it's much further away from classical Arabic, then Lebanese? You say we can "easily" observe differences between Arabic and it's Lebanese dialect? How so? Mark actually refers to Lebanese as a dialect, not a language. The Lebanese constitution, clearly prescribes Arabic as the only official language of Lebanon. There's no mention of Lebanese Arabic. But I think the most important thing is that the greatest Arab writers of the 20th century were Lebanese Christians and Muslims who revolutionized modern standard Arabic and contributed to its modernization which added to its richness.
