The BEST Way to Print Your Photos 

Adam, I just finished reading your beautiful book cover to cover in a single sitting. The juxtaposition of tragic and uplifting storytelling, and your gorgeous images, fills me with a deep sense of gratitude for my life and respect for you and your work. Received mine on Friday - and about two thirds of the way through…..are there images in it?? I haven’t noticed! The stories told are so enthralling; engaging, joyous, sad and eye opening. I think you said at some point that this is more than a book about photography and in my opinion it is, and it is a real triumph for that reason! 👏👏👏👏

Congratulations on seeing this though, Adam. It's always a real high point to get the fruits of your labour delivered to your door and then to open it, check it, handle it, enthuse about it and get emotional about it. I felt this every month and week when I used to run magazines and the office copies were delivered straight from the printers. EVERYTHING stopped whilst I when through each page, checking things that I had already checked time and time again before in the production process, feeling inspired to change things in the next edition and literally reliving some of the moments that went into it with some of the team (small team!). It never got boring. Years later, after a hiatus from media of about 20 years, I am back doing such stuff; making videos this time and I feel very different. I now suffer from a great deal of self-doubt; doubt in my ability, the content, the editing and what's changed is the bullishness of a 20 something year old chap. It's bloody hard and I know, first hand, how challenging this would have been for you. My copy arrived on Friday. I have read about 20% of it so far and have enjoyed it immensely. It is a very good book and a project that you should be immensely proud of. It inspired me to get a quick book of my own favourite photographs printed, just for my own self-belief and perhaps as portfolio. Thank you, you have me the impetus. Excellent video on your book journey. Have purchased said book. At 67 it dawned on me… what happens to my 50K of photos when I finally pass through that big aperture in the sky 😳. So my plan is to turn my “work” into books. Then a least my children and grandkids will know what Papa could do with a camera and the history of my world before it went COVID crazy. I've been thinking of creating a book of photos for myself and basing the stories that I would on the humourous captions that I use on my FB/Instagram posts for the photos.

I admire your courage in producing such a personal book. I think images are a reflection of the photographers psyche and landscapes, for me at least, are a measure of mental calm. Well done for the book but above all, thankyou for your service as a police officer.

I may have seen most of the photos on a variety of videos but they look really good together. What does it teach let your mind go photography is not about iso or composition rules it is about being free to let your mind wander into what looks good for you. Are you planning the next one? I did a book 10 years ago via a local printer ordered 500 sold 300 gave rest away made a small profit learned a lot. Great experience. Would buy the collector’s edition but would it ship to Romania? Or should I send it to my dad’s house in the UK to make sure it arrives in peak condition.

There's no "best" way for anything photographic. There's your way and mine, and each individual' way. Your way deserves consideration. You have a lot of good information here on book printing.

Can someone please advise a SIMPLE solution. I.e just need to print off few photos? Is qality of print as per normal in colour suffice?im obviously on wrong page here!!! Oops

Hello Adam, I can convert UK currency into USD, but I’m not sure about the shipping charges, it seems very low for international deliveries, or is that just for the UK?

Why is the most expensive way to print your photos the "best way". It is much less expensive to put regular prints in sleeved folios.

Congrats! If only Brexit hadn't made ordering stuff from the UK so cumbersome and expensive, I would have ordered it... poor UK small businesses.
