I really like the last option. I think plowing over and over to incorporate the grass into the soil is less efficient use of time as you have to repeatedly plow and not to mention ruin your soil structure below the ground. Remember if you spray you're going to kill the roots. Roots will rot but give way to precious pore space. What I would do is mow, plow the edge of plot for a fire break and then burn/spray. Cowpeas throw on top or maybe Buckwheat. My most important concern is preserving that soil structure.

We used to burn it when I was a kid. 50 years ago it was a common practice.

In springtime mow dead grass then disc it up. Let it sit a week. Spray it when you start to get green up then let it a couple days then work it again and plant. Works for me

I watched this channel for a while and what amazes me is that none of these guys follow the manufacturer's required PPE when spraying herbicides. At the minimum a long sleeve shirt, chemically resistant rubber gloves, a respirator and goggles. They act like they're spraying vitamins. That shit will mess you up.

Or. No till brill into it and crimp it after. Think about the great plains in the west. Some of the thickest purest stands of natural prairie pasture land ever and no one tends to it. No one is discing it. No one is ensure every seed co tacts the soil. The problem with what you suggest is it destroys the biological environment the worms and bacteria created in order to make that soil aerated and accept water through their tunnel systems. I'm not her to knock how you do it. But what you suggest is doing more damage to the soil health than good. That is a absolute fact. The sprays and synthetic fertilizers are why soil health in America is absolute junk. Immature heals itself so I would try more nature means such as I saw some suggest prescribe fires. Crimping while grains are in the dough stage. These are proven techniques to kill grasses without compromising soil biology and health.
