Thank you. My situation is different. I told my sons to do what God has called them to do. My oldest took up photography first and I started learning and helped him with some photo shoots now he and I together are starting a photography business. These tips are very good for all family situations.

Thank you Dave, Daniel, and the interviewer for sharing this gem with us. This was profoundly profound and insightful. I truly appreciate Dave for being this generous with what he knows! Much success to Ramsey Solutions!

My experience with family business is terrible, my father who is toxic af send me here for one day I could take over his business, but after 9 years of working on his company I still never get a chance to learn his thing and still sits on executive position following orders from department manager. I told him when do I started to take over he said I’m hired as an employee and my future were depends on my manager’s hand. After hearing this I have totally lost passion on work just like 97% of others in this world(I was completely motivated for the first 5 years until dramas and politics come in). I really regret wasting 9 years during my 20s for nothing. Currently I invested on real estate and stock market it pays me off well, I’m glad now I have option to leave his company if things goes worse

I think working with Dave as his children would be like me working with my dad. My dad would expect double from me becsuse I’m his son.

Absolutely true. But I never found that to be a bad thing. My Dad gave me my first job when I was 13. He told me that because the rest of the staff would assume I got the job because I was the boss's daughter (which was the truth), this is what I had to do.... arrive first at work in the morning, be the last to leave at night, do every crap job anyone asked without complaint, always smile, and do my best. Great advice. In my 40s, I bought into the business as a 25% shareholder. Spent 10 years working with my Mom, Dad, and brother every day. That 10 years of day to day with my family before the death of my parents was an absolute gift.

...because he wants you to put in the work like he did when he started the business so you appreciate what he built. Without that appreciation you will never bond with your dad's business.

My family owns an Electrical Contracting Business and they only have night jobs doing Publix remodels. It’s what they make the most money from and they can’t find people who wants to work. That’s why they don’t have day jobs because they have to Make sure they have the people to do these Publix’s. I don’t want to quit because I’ll feel bad and they need people, but I really hate night work, even if that means making less to go back to day shift. That’s why I’ve been telling them to fire me for years and they won’t?

They're not going to fire someone that they continue to make a profit off of. You're really good at your job, and they're desperate for workers. You'll have to be the one to leave in the best situation. And it's completely okay for you to do so, and there's nothing wrong with you living the life you want for yourself. :)

I understand your concerns, my friend. I recommend exploring passive index fund investing and expanding your knowledge in this area. Personally, I experienced both successes and challenges when initially seeking a reliable passive income..
