YOU NEED TO SECURE YOUR VAN!!
Today's video is about the Vanguardian, a security system installed on the outside of your vehicle which activates when any area of the zonal protected area is touched or tampered with.
Standard alarms will only activate once the doors have been damaged, this will activate before the damage has been done and gives you half a chance to get out there to defend your property or if that's not really your style, it will spook the thieves as they like to work in the quiet.
Hope you enjoy!!

My van was done in a “secure” car park near Heathrow it’s lit and covered in cctv cameras. There are staff on site 24/7 it was parked 10m from the reception and you have to negotiate a barrier access system to get onsite. Staff had been told not to interfere as it’s too dangerous and not to bother phoning the Met as they never turn up. Just goes to show the intelligence of these thieves, all you need to do to see if a van is loaded is look at the rear wheel arches, I had to replace the side door but nothing was stolen as the van was empty. Next time I will just leave it unlocked.

Adam it’s about layers of security. If you want to protect your van whilst at home invest in a Pyronix alarm and then add a Car Defender £30. This is a wireless device that adds to the house alarm and is designed to protect the vehicle from keyless entry theft, catalytic converter theft, tool theft. It has two technologies built in shock sensor and accelerometer (tilt). It can be set to trigger the house alarm and mobile app or just send a push notification to the app and the app says Car Defender activated.

David here from Artisan Security in Ireland. Pyronix alarm system with pyronix car defender and inertia sensors work a treat. Inertia sensors on the doors and car defender on the steering wheel. When they are trying to gain entry to the back they will make vibration triggering the devices before they gain entry. Car defender on steering wheel will trigger soon as vibration or turning of the steering wheel. But them on front doors if its feasible. Van just needs to be in close proximity to the house. Not to close the range is great.

Even though the product you are showing is flawless. Instead, I have 2 x deadlocks on both front doors. The nearside and rear doors are secured internally. No, you don't have to climb in to lock the doors. It is very discreet, basically undetectable from the outside. The only giveaway is if someone is watching how I do it which is quite difficult from a distance. Good luck gents.

Just looked this up thinking I was going to have a good laugh at the cost but it seems actually affordable. Certainly one line of defense that could be used in conjunction with other devices like pedal locks etc, that will stop your van getting nicked - but the alarm will help stop the stuff getting nicked... I like the idea of the warn-away when people get near it. Hmmm...

My brothers work van has been broken into numerous times. He is a diamond driller, so his gear is mega expensive. I suggested he electrify the skin of his van when it is parked outside his gaff. A 0.01amp buzz for the initial warning (painful, but not overtly dangerous), if the scum come back after, a 1amp (fatal) jolt to make sure they don't try again. It's a shame it would be illegal, but when the police refuse to do what we pay them for, people will end up taking matters into their own hands. This is how vigilantes are born.

When my car kept getting broken into (atleast 5-6 times!!), I ended up placing a shock sensor. They still tried but the alarm scared them off! Shock sensors are easy enough to wire into the standard alarm system and cheap as chips - you could place one on every door... and no batteries to install. Then followed by a 130db internal siren... good luck! Also you can install an insanely bright strobe light inside the van. Disorientating them is brill :D

Possible major flaw with this one. You mentioned you can train the key fob to work with additional ones, not sure how that is done, however what's stopping someone getting one of these fobs and pairing it up with yours? You get the exact same fobs on other alarm systems we have one on our summer house in the back garden so they are easily obtained these fobs. Again not sure how you pair the fobs up to additional alarms but I'm going to imagine this could be a major flaw with this system. Just another point, these guys breaking into vans these day's couldn't give a toss if an alarm is going off, there's usually more than one and carrying machetes or other weapons so although I know I can handle myself I just wouldn't risk running out my house if I heard my alarm going off and there is 2-4 guys with visible weapons on show. Police don't get involved anymore but they would if you went out and hurt one of those scummy rats. We aren't protected enough these days and if you dare take it into your own hands it's you that's in the s*it, absolute madness really is.
@sotaelectrical
@sotaelectrical 6 месяцев назад
Thank you for your comments, ok so I will try and answer your questions… you need original fobs to pair new ones up, this is not a high end ££££ security system, it has been designed to alert only. Regarding the guys breaking into vans, there not all the same, some might walk away and the other serious gangs are another issue, I do have a way of sorting this in the event of it happening but I will be banned from RU-vid for sharing it, and I will happily do time after being done twice with no help from the police

Unfortunately alarms are ignored by everyone because they are so frequently heard, thieves don't care about the noise, no one is going to confront a gang of em with weapons as they normally have for some tools, its not worth it. So this won't stop them at all just piss off your neighbours when it triggers accidentally or you forget to disarm and pull the handle and then stand there grabbing your remote to silence it. I did a high voltage “deterrent “ for a doctor with a soft top EType Jaguar, which had the roof cut open a couple of times whilst he was working at the hospital. He called me a couple of months later to disconnect it. When asked why, he said it was a wet night and the thief first tried the door handle triggering the sensor and firing the high voltage inverter. The man got a huge belt being fully grounded and was thrown more than a metre away from the car. Unfortunately another vehicle was going down the busy road at the time and consequently ran over him. The doctor was the physician on duty and had to operate on the thief! The man never knew whose car it was but the doctor didn’t want to risk it again!

Thank you for sharing about this alarm system. I would also consider professional thieves potentially finding ways to disable the alarm by simulating the key frequency. It's essential to have a deterrent in place to prevent such attempts. One approach could be implementing additional security measures that notify the owner if the alarm is deactivated, such as receiving a text message or email alert. This added layer of security would provide peace of mind, especially during vulnerable times like late at night. Addressing false alarms is also crucial for maintaining the effectiveness of the system. While sensitivity settings can help fine-tune the alarm's responsiveness, finding the right balance between sensitivity and reliability is key. Providing customizable sensitivity options, similar to those found in high-end dash cams, would enable users to adjust settings according to their specific needs and environment. Overall, ensuring the alarm system is difficult to overcome and provides feedback and customization options for users will enhance its effectiveness and reliability.

One question I would have asked the company is how unique are the key fob frequencies use the deactivate the alarm? It is trivial for criminals to purchase one of these devices and use a flipper zero to read the radio frequencies and be able to play them back. Or even reverse engineer the key fob radio signal to figure out the ranges that they use to deactivate the alarm and then simply create a flipper zero program to emulate it.

As something that sticks on, thats a pretty bad idea. I've built vehicles the past 35 years. That device is easy to bypass. Here are some ways. Firstly, large lump hammer, smash of item then toss it away or into a bucket of water. 2nd, there is a chemical I use in painting that you would spray onto the panel and within 10 seconds it will remove the sticky base plate with ease. It would actually slide of. Again toss away. 3rd . Take a can of expanding foam and spray it over the device. For the cost of this device I'm sorry but its not very sensible

I am not trying to be a twat myfriend. I've been there had had my premises broke into, vehicles stolen, customers cars stolen etc. That device has potential, but it has serious flaws that outway its benefits. If you dont want it bolted to your vehicle I'd suggest using PV bonding agent that bonds body kits to cars. It is a nightmare to remove, no chemicals remove it. It's on for life. I'd also not use batteries as you have to remove unit to replace. It would be very easy to wire upto vehicle from inside. Meaning it's permanent. I've seen how far criminal gangs will goto, and many not all, are very smart. Not idiots. I put windows into customers vans for years now, as the criminal can look inside and see if it's worth while. I have customers build hidden compartments to hide stuff if it has to be stored in vehicle. I understand not all tools can be hidden. I've seen criminal use expanding foam in so many ways, and it's fast. I've seen similar alarm systems dunked in water as that makes the siren much harder to hear. I've seen them covered in sand an gravel. Anything to lessen noise.

If that goes off in my street you are more likely people coming out to help them rob the van to speed the process up. Loud alarms only work if you can hear them. Nobody else will care. In fact they will be very annoyed with you.

I'll be honest, looking at the remote and the units inside the cover, these remind me of the bike alarm which are sold on Amazon for £14 to £18, now I know there is more to them because of the outer case which houses the two alarms and the to cover, but it certainly looks like two chinese bike alarms in a box 🤔 so it looks to me like a slightly redesigned two tier box utilising cheap Chinese bike alarms, I had one on my motorbike 😂

Why not fit some metal chequer plate doors on the inside of the van doors that you can put a traditional padlock on. So you would have a second barrier preventing access to the tools. Surely they will just come with a sledge hammer and knock the thing off then come back the next night when your waiting for the replacement.

Lot of money and no different than lots available cheaper, its a glorified shed alarm. If they want your tools they will crowbar the alarms off one night causing a couple of grads worth of damage then come back the next night for your tools. Nothing better than a big lock that they know will take a long time to remove.

1. that siren aint gonna do shit ( based on typical car alarms that in general most neighbours arent bothered about) 2. the fact that it goes off by the slightest nudge will become annoying to your neighbours and during your shifts. 3. it will be the first target to break off. 4. they basically created a stick on alarm that doesn't actually solve the problem of how easy it is to break into the vehicle
@sotaelectrical
@sotaelectrical 4 месяца назад
Hi mate thanks for commenting, it depends on why the alarm is purchased, so for me, 1) the alarm is to make me aware not the neighbours, I wouldn’t rely on others, 2) I’ve had this for months now, no one nudges my van when it’s alarmed at home and while I’m working it’s not on, 3) yes maybe so, but it will sound which will hopefully alert me, 4) it’s not been designed to solve the issue, it’s a cheap additional layer of security.

In theory you just need an electric fence strength. My neighbour parks his van in my double garage due to theft. If they trash your van that is a pain. But you can decant tour tools to any car and potentially still work. If the tools go thats £10000s of equipment and lost earnings on top. I work abroad so the agreement is he watches the house but has access to a garage. The garage has similar sensors. Dead locks everything.

Alarms and cameras are deterents, thieves dont know who is watching, but if they know what your product does they will look elsewhere, Vanguard is an additional layer of security to deter thieves. nice product. I own a decent car and have had 2 systems installed, Ghost II and Scopion S5, even with the keys they cannot drive it without knowing the secret input sequence from the vehicles own switches/ indicators/flappy paddles, scorpion will track the vehicle and alert the owner immediatly if the vehicle is lifted, however gentle due to geo fencing. That life at present, If I had a van I would alos install Vanguardian as another layer of security.
