I have a friend who looks exact same as him like same as twins. His skin tone is just too light for an Indian may be even lighter than him but they look exact same other than that
Got the Brio for my meetings from the home office. Was a bit pricy, but the Windows Hello and pretty good video quality made it more than worth it. Even when in worse lighting conditions, I still always have hands down the best image quality in the call.
On the BRIO, I think you need to disable most of the automatic settings for exposure in the embedded control panel (Not the Logitech app, but the one with the Windows GUI), in order to fix the weird shutter speed issue. Might not be for your case (Or if you weren't willing to muck with gain), but it forced the faster shutter speed for low light. I like the BRIO, but I hate the software support so, so, so much.
its nice when the most expensive options are the best, usually those brands spend more on hyping up their brand image while delivering a mediocre product at an inflated price. But damn that Jelly Comb dark horse was quite the upset for all the lower/medium priced options
I'm shocked at how good the jelly comb cam was at such a low price point. However, if I were to buy one of these cams......I'd go with the logitech brio.
I have two of them. They're great cams in a pinch and deal pretty okay with low light (good enough for a call to grandma, not a live stream). Definitely b-cam material if used in a live stream. My only issue with them is the auto focus noise being weirdly loud. It's like the focus mechanism is physically coupled to the mics and so the movement gets picked up add sound. Best not to use the mic if you can help it.
Terrific and meaningful review. I’m impressed. You seem to be really authentic. I’d love to see you do a serious review of cameras as replacements/upgrades for streaming…. mirrorless and DSLRs…. SUBSCRIBED
I bought the Nexigo N660 for ~$35 USD 3 months ago for work. IMO it's amazing good for the price. For work, you don't need to be massively detailed in Zoom. It's a great balance of price and quality. I use a headset for audio/mic so the camera mic quality is irrelevant. Also, I don't want to spend an entire days pay on a $200 camera to look nicer in a work meeting lol.
@@turkishdelight6032 I use the "Beyerdynamic Custom Game" I think it's called. But it looks like there's a newer version called the MMX 100 that's cheaper.
I was going back and forth between the brio and the KIYO pro, and this video really helped me decide to go with the KIYO pro. If they were the same price I maybe would have gone with the Brio, but as of writing this the KIYO is almost 40 dollars cheaper on amazon and imo still looks fantastic.
I think one thing that is glossed over (which he does mention later on) is with the Elgato there is a lot of in-depth settings you can change and make the experience better. Elgato could’ve done better for the out of the box experience though.
Holy shit the quality of this video is 👌 Also, seeing the quality of the webcams made me appreciate how excellent your main camera set up is. I'm sure it wasn't cheap but it looks fantastic! Thanks for this video 👏
You guys went all in. Very comprehensive and detailed review. You also went so far, to do a comparison between 2 usual usecases, just to show the differnet behaviour of the cameras used. My overall favorit was the Logitech Brio. The contender for best value was the Nexiogo N60. Some of the higher priced products here are way to overprized for the delivered featureset/usefulness/quality (= missing features, unstable monitor mounting, missing features in the software, quality was not up to the task). A really good review. Liked it.
I very much liked videos like these because it is very informative and consumer-friendly when choosing the right webcam for those not familiar with webcams. Thank you.
I feel like everybody forgets that the Brio does have a 1/4" mount. You just twist/pull the monitor mount off and it's right there. The 1st Razer made you look jaundiced and the mic was picking up a weird high pitched sound. Both looked better in the gaming setup, but that's to be expected. The Kiyo Pro sounds like a decent mic. The skin tones on the Elgato are just weird, even after tweaking. The Nexigo's show blotchy skin tones in office or gaming setups, but for the price are impressive. The ones with the bowtie effect really bug me though. Still happy with the Brio as an all around device, but I can confirm it's weakness is low light performance. The 4 year old model has held up well. The C270 is a solid budget option, and it's small, so good for travel.
C922, Kiyo, Kiyo Pro, FaceCam... all of them have 1/4 mount. It is pretty common among webcams. BRIO anyway is pretty much the winner here. The sharpness from 2160p is clearly visible and Windows Hello is a nice bonus.
Thanks so much for this video. I've been a Logi(tech) user since 2012's or so with the C910, then C920 and C922. Unfortunately, their bad software and configuration made me start to look for another cameras. Razer Kiyo Pro, here we go.
Before you take the plunge, lighting is what can make the biggest difference in a webcam. I too own a C920 but I have two standard lamps with cheap paper filter diffusers on them either side of me and the results are of near SLR quality. All configured in OBS. Best of luck to you though, whichever decision you make. Also, download some free luts, they're awesome!
The brio looks as good as some proper sony camera setup for streaming.. at a fraction of the cost.. would have loved to see the gaming setup in 1080p instead of just the 4k 30fps..great video! Not sure if you've heard of avermedia live streamer cam 313.. been using that for my stream setup.. pretty decent cam.. would have loved to hear your take on it..
Thank you SO SO SO SO SO MUCH for this video! I've actually had a series of webcams fail on me, and have been very disappointed with logitech products so I'm INCREDIBLY thankful for all the work you do to review these so thoroughly. amazing!! earned a subscribe for sure :)
When it was available the aukey fhd was definitely the best camera for the price, it gave the same video quality as the logitech brio but in 1080p and for only $60cad! It often went on sale for $45 and lower!
Thank you so very much for such an awesome review :). I have four Logitech cameras setup for when I stream. One being the HD Pro C910, another being HD C525, HD C615 and the C922 Pro Stream. But I have to say, I think that NexiGo N60 looks so much better than the Logitech webcams that I own. Although I am wondering how the N60 would compare to the Logitech Streamcam which does 60FPS at 1080P which would roughly cost me around $100 AUD more. Nonetheless, thank you so very much for buying and taking the time to review all these webcams, as it has given me more to think about.
Absolutely loving the car review videos with Alex hosting. I don't feel like he's talking down to people who aren't knowledgeable about cars, but also don't feel like he's making points that are dumbed down either.
Don't know but the Jelly comb mic and also the C270 mic were pretty good to my ears. They also had very impressive video quality. I don't think that the more expensive ones make that much sense for just meetings where most of the time our images are fixed to little boxes in Zoom anyways
I'm only halfway through the video and decided to pause and leave this comment. This is one of the more valuable videos I've watched in a while- and I'm super appreciative of your efforts as I seek out to purchase the best webcam for the money. :D
Thank you for the detailed reviews and actually using each camera in normal and darker 'mood' scenarios. What about the ghosting 14:32 (hand movement and even some head movement) with the Logitech Brio 4k though?
last year when the pandemic had kicked off I wanted to upgrade from my old logitech c270 and snagged a slightly older canon dslr off ebay for like 100 bucks since canon released webcam software for their cameras lol. Best webcam i've ever had lol
@@Zoranurai13 Google "Canon AC Adaptor". In my case the 7D is designed to have an AC adaptor in the battery compartment, it has a little rubber grommet that moves out of the way to let the power cord come out from the battery housing.
Yeah, I started using my 7D early on and was hoping to replace it with a more sensible webcam, but it's totally ruined me for quality. Nothing beats a big sensor and good glass. That said, it's highly inconvenient vs a simple dedicated webcam.
The Logitech BRIO is the one that looks best to me. Although I do have one, I bought it for its Windows Hello capabilities. When it comes to my own needs, the rest of the features are just icing on the cake.
Thanks, this was great. One feedback though: I think my preference became biased straight away because camera 1 was so good and my brain got anchored to it. I wanted it to be the best because of the good first impression so I started to dismiss even comparable cameras. So maybe next time the audience could have one minute blind taste test with two different scenes first before the deep dive please? Anyway Razer KIYO PRO and Logitech Brio advanced to finals in my hunt :)
I'm thinking of going with the razer just because the quality is what I'm after and it matches my whole razer theme plus I can add it to my razer account.
i bought a logitech brio for my dad last year. He is a professor and gives conferences. I found that is by far the best webcam i tested, and the microphone if you´re on a decent room is awesome.
@@blahorgaslisk7763 yeah, my dad actually uses the stock mic. With a little bit of tweaking it actually sounds really good. Not like a good dedicated mic, but pretty usable.
@ I've got a streamcam and definitely out of the box is better than the brio at 1080p when comparing it to my mate's brio. He had to do some extensive colour correction in the software to better than the streamcam. So I reckon if you just want to plug and play streamcam, if you dont mind the price hike and some extra work go for the brio.
Great detailed video, and the perfect set of products selected to compare. The scope including 2 environments was great, cause I see that some high-rated webcams are more aligned for gamer setups. Looks like the Logitech Brio will be ideal for my needs; just gotta stomach that steep pricetag.
As it typically is with Logitech products, I would've gotten the Brio were it not for the astronomical price tag. I think the Razer KIYO seems to be the best in terms of combining reasonable quality of features with a price tag that doesn't break the bank.
Thank you for this video, I'm looking for a webcam to buy, this video was so very helpful. I liked your in depth review of many webcams, their is no way I could buy so many and try them out myself. I liked the low priced vs. the higher priced. And it was cool you tried each camera in an office environment and then a web steaming environment. It was good to have other hardware reviewers comments. I have learned to trust your professional opinion. Today or tomorrow when I make my purchase I'll use your links.
Got the Razer Kiyo Pro during Prime Days for $150. At that price, it is an excellent webcam for the video and audio quality that you get. Might be a toss-up with the Logitech Brio if it was at it's full $200 price tag.
The Elgato Facecam's ability to expose the whole scene, not just the main subject, in low light ... is seriously impressive. It reminds me of using a DSLR from a few years ago with a high end lens. The ISO performance may be noisy in low light, but when your surrounding lighting is balanced correctly its going to eat the lunch of every other camera. This presents a pretty tricky quandary for buyers. Are you lighting your scene and subject correctly? Then its facecam ALL DAY ... are you not a pro photog? Buy the one that makes the "best" of any setting and light you throw at a webcam on any given day.
Wow glad I got the Kiyo Pro now, in the streaming environment test there it absolutely dicks on the Elgato which I did not expect. The Brio seems pretty excellent but you can see the 30FPS movement isn't great - although I noticed the Razer took a hit to FPS if you turned exposure up above a certain level. The Jelly Comb is frankly amazing for that price. It would have been nice to see some commentary at least on the software for these cams, as one big issue with a lot of Logitechs is getting them to remember settings - whereas the Razer and Elgato save camera settings to the camera itself so you can even move them to another computer entirely and they will give you the option to load settings from the camera. While Synapse is "OK I guess", I suspect where Elgato will excel here is their software.
Thank you for making this video! Ive been trying to decide on a web cam for a RU-vid channel im going to create! And you helped me decide on the Logitech BRIO!!!!
@@therealist2000 Well, they are both very popular cameras in the same price range as some of the cameras that were included. Would make sense to compare them as well.
@@therealist2000 Logitech StreamCam is a direct competitor to the Elgato Facecam, versatile for streaming. Ofc I don't know if it uses the same sensor as some of the other Logitech webcams. At the end of the day, its difficult to include all products. Still a great vid regardless
Thanks for the video Dimitri! One thing I felt like could have been improved is including the Logitech streamcam since it’s more of a streaming competitor for the elgato. Cheers!
Good stuff, it's a shame that one needs to spend so much for a decent webcam. For future content consider a comparison or a round-up of using cell phone cameras as webcams
Having tried the Logitech Brio and C922, they both have this annoying problem in OBS where you just can't reliably save the camera settings from one session to another. I hear it's a common problem with Logitech webcams. I gave up and just went the mirrorless route eventually. So much better.
@@Rawdilz They are not the same, but they do have the same sensor. The image could be similar, because of that, but the lenses also make a big difference.
Of course this gets posted the day after I order the Elgato Facecam 😩 Still looks great and I don't mind playing around in the software to get it look its best
I'm a bit confused about your blind test, as Eber chose camera one, but the Kiyo pro was never included in his test, then later mike says everyone chose #2, while showing the kiyo pro. So was the kiyo pro #2? Just trying to figure it out!
It was based on sales popularity, and the Dell just got released. It would be nice to revisit it vs the Brio for Windows Hello, as well as the other for streaming & general use.
Nexigo N60 certainly looks impressive for its price, and the quality of the mic doesn't bother me, since I wouldn't be using it. Thanks for the comparisons with other cameras on the market! You are straight to the point and I find this to be a very useful video! :)
I have had the N60 for about a year now. It is fixed focus and I honestly have no clue how he got it to focus that well. For zoom, everything is blurry unless you are less than a foot from the camera. Highly suggest looking for a different one if anyone is considering the N60. This webcam is the reason I am even watching this video.
@@hekero Well, Avermedias PW513 could have been included, too. But that one is about the highest-end webcam you can buy and even more expensive than the rest. Logitech's Streamcam, however, is rather reasonably priced by comparison.
Would have liked to see the Logitech SteamCam in this round up, only because I've seen some reviews saying it's trash lol. Great overview though, have been looking for a review just like this! Thanks!
Recently upgraded from the Logitech c922 PRO to the Logitech Brio 4k and WOW!! The c922 was not terrible at all. But had grain issues and exposure issues. The BRIO THOUGH!!!? WOW! Super crisp, Auto Focus is really great. The ONLY CON I have with the Brio is the detachable USB-C on the back. The cable sticks out too far for my studio setup, and touches the wall due to where my monitor sits. But that is minor.
Great review as always but would have been good to see the new Dell UltraSharp webcam as that also offers 4K at 30fps as well as what look like some other nice features.
