I miss the early web, when websites were unique, unfinished and personal. back then, every link click felt exciting. When you clicked on something, you didn’t know where you would end up.Today, some of these old websites are still online, and a lot of new websites popped up that capture the excitement of the 90s. I’m taking a look at my list of the best websites for retro fans.

As you said, these sites are not very accessible but I still miss the originality. Most of the sites now are very alike. These were oozing the creators personalities. Thanks for the trip 😊!

Nice! I cannot say I "like" this aesthetics, but at the same there is something very appealing about them. And it existed for such a short period of time. I am very glad someone collects these and preserves them. The Infinite Mac is a really impressive.

I prefer how the old internet WAS actually genuine, whereas now everything is so corporate and sterile and basically everything (which on top of everything uses as many of your pc resources as any AAA game) is made with the intention of getting either your money or your personal data

Thank you! And yes, you can! Infinite Mac supports a “Saved HD” in the Settings, allowing you to export and reimport your HD. Not sure if recently installed software will remain though.

@@RetroTechDreams I started working with Sheepshaver a couple of years ago. But the fact that it lacks support for some games and feels flimsy in general, made me purchase a couple of retro macs. Those work allot better of course. But the fact you can use this on a modern computer ‘on the fly’ has a great advantage. For instance. My dad. A Mac enthousiast can look up stuff and remember the good old days together with me now. It’s really amazing and again. Great great content!!!

I used internet since 1991 before web even existed, so i have seen it all since day 1 of web. I remember people worldwide stole these animated icons from each other and placed them all over their web sites to look cool. Internet were mostly FTP, IRC and E-Mail in MS-DOS 1991. FTP were maily used for high speed piracy with fast internet lines at schools, while others used IRC to speak with people worldwide.
