Agree 100%. I’ve only bought Freud bits for over 20 years. I had to round over some Osage, which actually sparks because of minerals inside and the Freud bits are the only brand that stands up to the task. Just remember to tighten them so you don’t have a “Freudian Slip” .

Whiteside. Been using them for thirty-five years. Durable, clean cutting. Never a problem. Family-owned American company. They have made custom bits for me, and by the way, they answer the phone. I have a few Freud and CMT bits; also good. When I can get it though, I prefer high quality made in the USA.

Buy the ½in , you can always get the ¼ adapter if you need one, most ½ will accept ¼, depending on brand of router, plus the ½ dissipate heat better for longer life.

I bought the yellow version of the cheapies. Yellow works better than red. However, those are starter bits for the infrequent styles. I'll eventually upgrade the more frequently used bits. I'm impressed by the rabbiting bit eating that much money.. I mean... wood off so quickly without burning. Also wish I could get some of Freud's bits in yellow...

I've been using CMT bits for over 20 some odd years now. Have a stable full of them, sets and singles. Great bit for the buck. I always find great deals on them. Love them, never failed me. Made in Italy too. Very surprised no comments mentioned them....

Forgot to mention that I have a very old ( probably from mid 90's) set of 1/4" Freud bits that I have never had problems with. However my opinion is CMT wins....

Love, love, LOVE those router bits!!!! I've bought and used them for several years and GOLLY GEE BOB HOWDY...do they work sooooo nice! I've had problems with 1/4" shanks pulling out of my router in oak and screwing up my project...yeah, they were dovetail bits and by screwing up I mean UP! (Cause we know how pricey oak is...) had to redesign that project...I was like an angry gnome over that. When I went with those 1/2" bits...😍❤😍❤😍❤ love at first use! So 👍👍young man for showing these! And, yeah, a polite golf clap for you too!👏👏👏👏👏

Love the video. Laugh a lot but also learned a lot . I just bought my first router (DeWalt DCW600) and just one 1/4 bit by Diablo, which is made in Italy, so it must have a Romantic Vibe, therefore, if wife (or husband, Significant other, etc.)) sees you routing with this bit, you may look like a super model, start speaking Italian and routing will stop for a small break....

I also own freud router bit when they had a full line of different profiles spent nearly 1500$ on a few bits specially on the entry door bit set that was 350$ considering a custom door with 2 sidelights can cost 10000$ Canadian pessos, lumber cost can be around 400-500$ glass will cost around 500$ so you can still profit around 7000$ being on cheap side , I love the freud bits , also there are infinity cutting bits and also mlcs router bits the katana version , thanks for your videos

I have the Milwaukee M18 fuel 1/4 router. Though there are limitations of a 1/4 inch router, my Milwaukee fuel router is real nice like. I went straight to the Diablo router bits instead of buying the el cheapo and tested their round over on a scrap piece of osb and it’s like hot knife through butter and I basically made a factory edge.

Usually I’m using a 1/4 collet trim router for the work I do; or if doing framing and siding a house/building and cutting out doors/windows etc…will break out the 1/2 corded router for that power, as the cordless trim routers still kinda struggle a bit (and if they don’t, your burning up the juice in your battery pretty darn quick and if ya gotta cutout 20 windows, 8 doors for example, definitely not using cordless router; gonna go BEAST MODE with the Bosch, imo). Do want to get back doing “wood working” (custom builds for diff furniture: chairs, cabinets, shelves, etc….), but it will DEFINITELY 100% be when those prices come down so I’m able to actually make somewhat of a profit to help continue on w/ this fun “side hobby” I’ll call it. Not sure would go over w/ ppl if all of a sudden a usual”simple” table I make sells ¹ around $130-$240 (depending on options); starts selling for $650-$1000🤦🏼. I’m pretty good, but I’m not making 14k jewelry w/ diamonds or anything 😂 Thx for vid and recommendations on router bits. Do like Freud Bits also….along w/ a few different ones✌🏻 ¹ been long day and have a seriously bad Migraine; so apologize for typos or sentences that “sound” odd

Yonico bits are significantly cheaper than Freud, which I own a bunch of, but cut just as good, IMO. They are sold by Precision Router Bits and online at the store named after the Big River. I have a lot of Ryobi tools and have not had problems, except for one trim router that I ran the piss out of and burned out. I happened to have a second, so am still good to go. Since then, I also bought a Makita corded, which is now my go to trim router. I also bought a big Triton plunge router, that I still have to use, but expect to be a beast. Opps. Forgot one. I have a Kobalt router that came with a Kobalt aluminum router table. Not a bad set for the money. I used it with Freud bits to cut rabbets in 2" thick maple boards.

Just got a willfukyee M18 router because it came with a free 5AH battery. Then VCG sez the 5AH batteries are (not worth paying for), but the router will come in handy after I do all the other rough work I do, so thanks for the rec on the bits. Now I just have to figure out which bits fit the dang thing, don't even have it in my tool crib yet, still at the office, in the box, sitting on the floor. The (free?) battery has seen some use already, in a impact driver and angle grinder though. Felt like a criminal the other day removing the heads of some one-way bolts on a security door. Gonna need some metal epoxy and black paint to cover up the gouges in that frame rail, I tell you what.

I have had these exact bits wear away when dadoing red oak plywood. Granted it was 9 plys of OAK, not the typical fir core stuff from the box store - but still...the diameter of the bit should not have changed after only 40 feet of cutting, and I might think I just got a hold of one "Lemon" but, but it happened to three bits in a row, that were purchased in different locations, son not likely it was a bad run of bits either...
